We were given a very high recommendation to stay in this hotel. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. However, staff still need to be proactive. This is lacking considerably. For example, luggage was brought to our room but no one offered to bring it upstairs. The rooms were cleaned but towels not always replaced or plates / cutlery replaced. When you know that the customer is drinking tea, there was no initiative to leave more tea bags, instead I had to call every time. Not a big deal but areas for improvement. Maintenance checks need to be done regularly before check-in. A bathroom sink was leaking which I found on arrival. It took the maintenance person over an hour to fix. There was also a loose sink fitting which was on one screw. Things that could be better. Additionally, better toiletries could also be provided for example control buds. Amutham restaurant was very nice. Saranya was really lovely. Room attendants Duvarakan and Dushyanthan were very good and with some extra training can be truly excellent. The pool and gym looked good but we didn’t have time to use it. The driver / chauffeur accommodation needs to be improved. They are the ones who will bring new business to the hotel and need to be taken care of. Hotel location is really good with easy access to all parts of Jaffna.
