Went there with family from Sylhet city without knowing that construction work was in place and rest of the resort was occupied by guest. Since security guard was unaware of all details, went to the Bristo restaurant and talked a beard guy over there. While leaving the place, the security guard named Nazim was shouting at us and blaming us for not having food at restaurant. As food was not our main motive and the menu was not so favorable to us, we didn't have anything at their restaurant. And how long did we stay inside the resort by the restaurant? 10 or 15 minutes max! But surprisingly, the security guard at the gate was so rude! Did you guys name your resort after this security?

Although it is situated in a beautiful location and it was one of the best resorts of this country 5-7 years ago, this is a rundown resort now with premium price tag for the experience! This is absurd! We booked two of their most expensive rooms as my elderly parents were travelling with us and I wanted to give them the best experience. Let me summarize the experience: After the first night, we found that rats are running around in the wooden false ceiling! wood borers infested sections of the ceiling and we found chunks of frass (ঘুণ) in different places of the room, including our bed!! A water pipe was leaking in the washroom and water was dripping from the roof! They acted promptly and changed our room in the morning, but we could still listen to rats running across the false ceiling in all three rooms we stayed. Rooms were damp as well! This was a very frustrating experience for us. Why did they arranged such a room for us that needed to be changed after one night of stay? Why do we need to pay a premium price for such poor experience? And if this is the experience in their most expensive rooms, I cannot imagine how it would be on the rest! Staff were super helpful through. Food was also good. I think they need to fix few things to make this place livable. First, re-do the rooms. It is difficult to maintain a resort in such humid jungle like place but what you are charging for this experience is unfair. Second, relook at the add-on services charges. The pick and drop from airport costs around $80, almost equal to a night's rent! The boat ride to the lake is not complementary and they charge $10 for this. This is not much, but it feels like you are trying to charge guests whenever possible, which gives us a bad experience. Include this charge with the room rent and make it complementary. I loved the location, food and the staff. It is sad to see the current state of the resort. I regret taking my parents there.

In my school trip to there, the hotel had a very interesting landscape, overlooking on a hill to the tea gardens that direct to the Indian state of Assam, the hotel had many ups but there was some things I dislike, one was limited food, my classmates were struggling to get a PLATE OF SPAGHETTI to gobble it up, even my teachers were struggling, also there was some demanded foods, like in my second day of my trip (3 day trip for yall) we didn't even eat the ones that were served, we only ate the special breakfast included in the hotel, muffins and green tea. You may ask about the rooms, they are okay... Almost all the rooms have a balcony that looks at the forest, and they get a ladder, TO DRY YOUR CLOTHES, and we also get a safe, a tv, some complimentary water, and a normal bathroom with all the basics. Don't even get me started at the outside, you get a free park thingy to roam and do stuff, but to enter the park, YOU HAVE TO CLIMB A FLIGHT OF STAIRS ON A HILL, and here we go, once you reach the area there is a building with several dogs barking at my group and poop in areas that nobody cares about, and there was a slide for some reason located far away that leads to a pond, I don't get the context though, anyways this trip was okay because this is my only time without my parents. This was a interesting trip and there was lots of fun. -Saffan, former student of International School Dhaka

One of the worst experiences I ever had in Bangladesh. We went there with one of colleague his family and mine. The room was stinky and wet, AC were not working, and electrical connection were very poor. It took us nearly an hour to get the electricity connection. The cost of a room was as high as 13000 BDT = $130. The chair of the dining was terrible! My 3-year-old kid dropped from the dining chair which was no way usable! i was astonishing how a resort of USD 130 can be that terrible! most of the foods was terribly bad, the chicken and beef were frozen for may be 2/3 years! The swimming pool was dormant and stinky with full of frogs! The worst food i have ever had with 3/4 times higher price! the cost of food was 2/3 time higher than usual price. But the most unsatisfying was their behavior and service. Now a days no one visit there so whenever they have someone in the resort they want to exploit as much as they can! I would humbly request you to avoid this place.

Visited with some friends and family, place is well kept. Rooms and bathrooms are nice but food prices are a bit high, 1700 tk is charged for child but without any extra benefit! Breakfast has very few items according to room prices, approach road is a disaster.

This review has two parts: one after the initial amazement at the scenic beauty of the place and the other after ‘enjoying’ their service. Please read till the end to get a fair perspective. I drove all the way from Dhaka. Sylhet-Tamabil road is in pristine condition. But the last 7kms of road approaching the resort is in horrible condition. However once you have reached the resort, I’m sure you will have nothing bad to say about them. Check in was short and efficient. There was welcome drink for us. Car parking is not too far from the main building, which is a big plus for me as I drive myself. The architecture is attuned to the natural environment; they haven’t destroyed the green rather have constructed in a way that complements the greenery. Big kudos to them for having multiple benches and sheds across the facility; not very fancy but you can sit in one of these for hours in complete quiet. As for activities, there’s nothing much to do inside the resort. However they offer boat rides in the Shari river. Shari is a beautiful river with crystal clear water. Rooms are cozy and large; bathroom, spacious. Room is full of natural light. Our room had a whole wall of glass window- the view was exquisite and it allowed the room to be sunny during daytime. Breakfast (complementary) was sumptuous but the menu not too elaborate. The room has an old fashioned tv (not a smart one) and doesn’t have Netflix! 😫 This place is a perfect getaway for a day or two from our busy daily schedule. If you are a lover of silence, this place is perfect for you. Updated at 23:30 on my second night of stay: they have arranged this live music from 8:00 pm which is still going on. The singers are some local kids who doesn’t cut it in any sense. Awful vocal, even worse their music. Which isn’t any of my concern. How can they allow this to go on such late at night? Total disregard for the wellbeing of the guests there. They didn’t stop even after we called the front desk and informed them that we’re not being able to sleep. In multiple other occasions I found their services to be lacking a respectable standard. My wife and I were given two single blankets. Even after requesting for one large blanket, they didn’t provide any. On another occasion they were repeatedly asking for our room number when we went for the complementary breakfast. More irritating was the response when we wanted some limes: ‘we don’t provide anything extra in breakfast!’ So curt. So rude. It’s a pity how this awesome facility is being run. This establishment deserves better.

Never expected such a wonderful property in a remote place like Lalakhal. We reached around 1PM after a long day of problem solving and brainstorming at a customer's place. The last 2km road need serious development. Upon arrival we were guides to our rooms and told that the documentation can happen next day morning. Took a warm shower and sleep like a baby till 5:30am when woke up to the sounds of birds. Now saw the beuty. Lash green surrounding . A big private balcony and common balcony on either side of the room hanging on the wilderness. The private balcony is facing the infinity pool. All the stress of last 10days of business travel throughout 2 countries just vanished. Went for a small hike to the top of the hill (also belongs to the resort). And the view from the top is amazing. Even the walk through the green is another experience. Being holy month of Ramadan, there were no guests except we three. Still they arranged a good breakfast for us. And the maintenance was quite in detail. One can imagine as they also not expecting footfall for next 15-20days, but still keeping the pool in order and cleaning every room is one thing being traveller is always considered extraordinary. One thing to mention from beginning... The hospitality and staff behaviour is one of the best USP for this property.
