My family and our friends stopped by Himanshu’s house for a home cooked meal and a cooking lesson. We were greeted as if we were family. We were a large group and met his entire family… it was a splendid evening with wonderful food. And a dessert to kill for. I highly recommend staying or eating Himanshu’s home recipes. The food alongside his photographs of animals taken during his wildlife guided tours are not to be missed. We had a great experience. Hope to return.

We stayed with Himanshu and Deepti and their family in their home stay for 3 nights, on our 3 week trip through Northern India. Himanshu had also planned our itinerary for our trip and we absolutely loved and thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to India. Himanshu and his family were lovely hosts, and the accommodation was homely and comfortable. There is a separate section of the house upstairs with its own entrance for guests, however Himanshu and his family are very welcoming and we joined them for dinner in their home, with their family and friends on more than one occasion. The staff are so polite and very attentive and the cooking class we had with Himanshu and his team was a highlight. Our stay at Pratap Bhawan was comfortable and the whole experience was fantastic, I would highly recommend staying there and meeting Himanshu and his family, it was certainly a highlight of our trip.

The dining at Pratap Bhawan beautifully captured the soul of Rajasthani cuisine. The Kathal ke Kebab were a revelation — crisp, smoky, and delicately spiced. Dungari ke Gatte stood out for their tender texture and rich, comforting curry, while the Junglee Maas was bold and rustic, with perfectly balanced heat and flavor. Each dish carried authenticity and warmth, making the meal both memorable and deeply satisfying. A true celebration of Rajasthan’s culinary heritage.
