The camp is really well located close to the sand dunes, which are scarce in the Sam area. The camp is clean and well maintained. Our tents had impeccable bedsheets and our toilet was super clean and geyser was working well. We were given three blankets, which is more than enough in the cold desert winter night. Food was good and in general the Rajasthani hospitality showed. The highlight for us was a cultural festival with the dancers and the singers being really committed and enthusiastic and it wasn't very cringey at all. We had a bit of an issue with our camel safari, which is more like a 5 minute trip into the sand dunes just behind the hotel, but a quick chat with the ***ager sorted it out and he ensured that we got our one hour camel ride in the morning the next day, which was really nice. I would suggest, when you are booking to be sure what is included in exactly for how long to avoid any confusions when you land up. Be aware that there is no wifi or tv in the desert and mobile signals for me at least was sporadic. But I know that other guests didn't have too ***y problems. Also, for those people who have not camped before, or who may have forgotten what it's like, the camp walls are actually made of tent fabric. So it's very easy to hear what are the people are talking about. There is a little bit of noise that goes into the night with the other guests that are staying in the camp, though it's, of course, not the fault of the camp. It is something to be aware of, especially if you're a light sleeper so bring earplugs. They do serve alcohol for the evening entertainment and it is quite reasonably priced. The bonfire was really tiny and didn't really give off any heat, though they do give you blankets as the evening cultural program is under the stars outdoors. Overall, I would say the service was great. The camp was well maintained and they really tried hard to please the guests. So I would definitely recommend it for families and would recommend it as a camp in the SAM area. The person who gives you the ride in the camel and the entertainment folks do ask for tips, but don't feel pressurized as it's not really ***datory, but it's just a nice gesture because they obviously have so much less than what we do and they do try very hard.

Visited hotel with my wife, best location just opposite sam dune, hotel reception service is excellent, they arranged my pick up from airport, room was excellent, they arranged camel safari and jeep safari both were excellent, evening cultural programme with snacks, dinner, breakfast all were top category, certainly will visit again.

We spent a night in their luxury tent. It was very spacious with attached marbled wash-room with all the amenities. This was my first experience staying in tent which was wonderful. It was equipped with a full size mirror, Wardrobe, mini-bar, office chair-table. 2 chairs with coffee table and beautiful comfortable bed. It was a cold night and heater was also provided. We enjoyed evening dance & music. Food was very delicious. Evening tea and snacks and tomato soup were outstanding. We had chicken curry in dinner. it was so nicely cooked that we repeated it. Stuffed pranthas for the breakfast was really good. Staff members were polite and generous.

It was a mesmerizing experience with Queen of Thar desert camp. Entire staff was very helpful and made all of us comfortable. Food is delectable, delicious and the program like Sunset safari on camel and sunrise safari with Jeep was awesome. Nasir bhai also arranged an inside desert safari which made our trip complete. What a view of desert 🏜 simply superb... Sahil took us to this safari ride and also gave an experience of local fruits and villages. Special thanks to Kapil Patel, Chaynu Patel for giving the home like comfort in Desert.

Had an amazing experience of staying in a Desert camp.The Jeep safari arranged for us was simply exhilarating followed by a great evening of Rajasthan folk music/dance.Food was as good as home food.Simple yet very tasty.The Sunrise Camel ride into the sand dunes was something we will cherish for a long time.Our host Hakim Khan made us feel at home with his personal touch and made sure all our requirements are taken care of.I strongly recommend a stay at this place if you like to savor new experiences”

The location , the courtyard, the folk music program were all excellent. The interior of the tent not as ‘bhavya’ as in the pictures. The staff was excellent especially Mahindra who took us on the jeep safari. Another excellent staff was the person in the kitchen, our server in the dining room. All in all a splendid experience.

Review of Winds Desert Camp Overall a good stay in the camp run by hard working folks. Location - About 32km from Jaisalmer (JSM) without any camps nearby. Quiet and relaxing. The google maps location is accurate. Taxis will charge around 1500kms for a one way drop or offer to do a round trip for 2500, which will include a side trip to a deserted town of Kuldhara (skippable). The camp itself is not close by to the dunes but on a sandy patch. The dunes are some distance away. Plan your arrival to between 3-4pm. Before that - nothing much to do; and probably too hot as well (depending on the time of the year). Spend your time in JSM instead. Food - it was quite tasty. They accommodated our vegan food request with a smile. They also have many vegetarian choices as well. Range was quite fine - as you would expect in a desert camp. They might whip you up some custom food if you have specific food requirements. The entertainment (Rajasthani music and dance) and in the evening was also quite good and relaxing under open skies. They also serve alcohol (basic choices), and finger foods during the show. The one wrinkle was the tent itself - the one initially assigned to us - 101 was very smelly. They managed to find an alternate - 122, which a bit older, worked out ok. The sheets in the first tent were also stained. So pls inspect and ask for any changes - which they will accommodate with a smile. The AC cooled down the tent within 10mins on an October evening. They also take you out on a desert safari - a car ride for about 6kms and then go not the camels for a 10min walk onto the dunes where you will spend about about 30mins watching the sunset. This was an amazing experience and the highlight of the trip. Service - Mr Bana and his staff do a good job on this front. Good team! All in all a good experience.
