Aerotel Jeddah - Transit Hotel in Terminal 1

The hotel appears brand new and is therefore in great decorative order. However, we booked 2 single beds and was given a double bed. The room only had 1 towel and there wasn't a kettle or any tea/kettle. Also there wasn't any WiFi available in the rooms. Furthermore I had to give a deposit on entry which I thought was a bit weird given this is a hotel where people stay for a maximum of 12 hours whilst they wait for the next flight. On the positive side the staff were very helpful and the room came with 2 bottles of complimentary water. I would stay here again if I had a long connection time as it does the job.

The room was really clean and extremely comfortable, and definitely helped given that we had a long layover. However, the service is really bad. We had to wait in a queue for about an hour just to get to the reception desk. Apparently it’s always like that so I don’t really understand the value of making reservations ahead of time. They definitely are understaffed. If they can’t hire anyone else then the least they could do is issue out tickets and have enough seating to accommodate guests so that people aren’t frustrated. Amenities are decent but there’s no dental kit or even a bin in the bathroom.

My flight was delayed by 4 days and they took my reservation even though it was for 4 days ago. I would have had to sleep in the airport bench for 10 hours had they not been so kind. Other than the fact of the room didn't have Windows it was great thank you so much

Good in general

Booked and pre-paid a six hour stay whilst in transit. Arrived 5 minutes before my reservation time to find a queue for check-in. One clerk doing the check-in watched by two male staff who were taking no part in the process. Each check-in was taking 10 - 15 mins to process. All seats in the reception area were occupied by family members of those waiting in queue which included a number of families with young children. Not effort was made by staff to mitigate discomfort for waiting guests, despite there being a large restaurant area with seating and buffet just behind reception that was unoccupied. After 90 minutes of standing in line I finally checked in. I enquired about a refund for the 90 mins I had paid for room occupancy but had been prevented from using. This was not given. Complaints made to customer services with a request for a 25% refund to account for the 25% of the time I had paid for the room and had been unable to use due to the inefficiency of the check-in process were replied to saying no refund would be made and no apologies were given. Exceptionally poor customer service in all aspects. Do not book here.

Whilst a 6 hour stay to have a shower and sleep was exactly what I needed during a layover in Jeddah, I certainly had to pay quite a bit of money for this. And you only get the basics for what you pay for. Customer service was OK. The front desk felt like a rather frazzled environment.
