Jefferson County Hotels with Pools

I've stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fultondale a few times and it's always a pleasant experience visiting. The hotel has a great breakfast offering every morning ranging from cereal and yogurt to made-to-order eggs and sausages. The lobby is pleasant and even has an outdoor area if you want to have your breakfast out in the sun. The rooms themselves are a bit on the older side, but the hotel seemed to be in the process of remodeling last time I visited and the new amenities are a great upgrade. The service from staff varies, but one gentleman who recognized me from an earlier visit made my day last time I stopped by. If I were to make any serious complaints, it would be that the lobby sometimes gets flooded with the small of chlorine from the pool, Overall though, the hotel is very nice, affordable, and in a fantastic location.

We're just off Interstate 65, with many restaurants within walking distance. Downtown Birmingham is a 10-minute drive away, with its shopping, museums, and parks. Regions Field and the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute are both within 10 miles of us. Enjoy our fitness center and seasonal outdoor pool.

This was my fourth stay with Homewood Suites near UAB. And like all the other times, it was amazing! When I walked in to check in, the young lady actually recognized me from my last visit and reminded me of my Hilton Honors, which I had forgotten about, and gave me a complimentary bag with 2 bottled waters and treats! Very welcoming! The complimentary breakfast was phenomenal! So many items of variety to choose from! The young lady over the breakfast area came by my table to make sure everything was OK. We spoke about my trip. Very friendly and kind to me and other guests. They even have a manager's reception during the evenings (unfortunately I wasn't able to attend) When I checked out, Tracy greeted me with smile and asked if everything was to my liking, which I responded Yes! I always enjoy my stay with Homewood! Which is true, the rooms and views are spectacular! Mine was a king size bed with a sofa that let's out to a good size bed. Spacious bathroom area, and a kitchenette fully equipped with a counter top stove, microwave, good size refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, dishes, pots and pans even a garbage disposal. Homewood near UAB is definitely my go to place, my home away from. I highly recommend Homewood to anyone for their stay while in town. The staff team are A+

The carpet in our room was stained in numerous places in the both the main room and the bedroom. The window was filthy. The curtain sheers have something on them as well as the couch cushions. The couch slants forward like you are going to tip off the couch. The foot rest is tearing open at the seams and sagging on the bottom. There is a hole in the bathroom wall from the door handle smashing into it. We received an almost empty bottle of shampoo and a tissue box with only a couple of tissues left. There are goldfish crackers in the air conditioner in the bedroom. We paid for breakfast but we never told what time it was served (or given any info about the hotel and there was no info in the room) and when we came down to eat we were told breakfast ended at 9am. Every other hotel we’ve stayed at on our trip breakfast has been served until 9:30, 10:00 or even 10:30. When I filled out the IHG survey, the general manager from the hotel responded that they are sorry they didn’t meet my expectations and will use my comments to coach their team. Nothing in the response indicated that they will be fixing the room.

Relatively not so safe around, but not bad

We traveled to Birmingham for a celebration of life service. All of the hotels were sold out due to a concert; but the staff at the Courtyard Marriott went above and beyond to accommodate us. Specifically Quez and Ervin at the front desk. We were a group of about 15 people and they treated us like family. They ensured we were as comfortable as can be. Especially Ervin. Hus pleasant demeanor, problem solving on room issues and ability to offer suggestions for dining options were superb. I/we really enjoyed our time at the hotel simply due to the customer service of the team. Althea also helped us out with a room switch one night. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is in an ideal location with retail shopping and restaurants nearby. We didnt get to enjoy the pool but that area was nice as well. The beds also were comfortable and the lobby is a nice hang out spot to watch the game or play board games with family. I would recommend this hotel and suggest the Marriott recognizes their outstanding employees offering stellar customer service in this current job market. Good job Ervin, Quez and Althea

This was our third time at this hotel went back because we enjoyed ourselves the previous two times hotel was the same as before could get a sunbed any time of day the food was well prepared pizzas were great can be receptive but always something to eat, maybe the rooms need a little updating but very clean. Was able to keep room late on last day when asked, all staff worked really hard all day. The location is great not as busy as some resorts but enough going on to enjoy yourself. The only negative from previous years was entertainment with was run by one entertainer which didn't seem interested never seen her only walking around talking to lifeguards, the hotel board said in morning three activities a day but in 7 days play pool and darts on one day rest of week only a lazy game obviously her specialty me and my son enjoy pool entertainment which we have done at hotel before which helps people get together and get to know the entertainment staff which is why we went back. The last few days the entertainer left and was replaced, and things improved a little late for us probably would try a new location for next holiday just let down by the entertainment and had to go out of night which if full inclusive defeats the idea of buying drinks, but Rock Cafe if like the music is a good night out .

This is absolutely one of the best Hilton properties I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. Kecia and the front desk staff were warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. I met GM Michael Donaldson. He was there at 7 pm on a Friday night helping to control a leak from the heavy rain. But that didn’t stop him from greeting me with a smile. He truly made me feel like I was a one and only guest even when I knew the hotel was full. Awesome experience

1 night stay which we would have stayed longer if we weren't just passing through. The pool looks great and was very busy at 930AM!! Restaurant was serving late so we could order a steak at 9pm! Salads were great! Room was clean and there were local shops nearby within walking distance. The resort is located at the edge of a neighborhood and I cod have easily taken a nice walk through and enjoyed viewing some of the homes. Will book here again on next road trip for sure!!
