We had a problem with the safe and they moved us immediately. The rooms are very large and comfortable. All the staff are very friendly and willing to help you with anything. They recommended a tourist tour and it was very good. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. They have shuttle service and they can take you anywhere for a reasonable price as well.

The hotel environment is beautiful. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant once before, and I wanted to experience it once. The location of the restaurant is great, the view is expansive, the autumn scenery is beautiful, and the meal is also very good. The room is spacious and comfortable. The room I booked has two balconies with beautiful views on both sides. The attitude of the service staff is very good, and the service is very considerate and meticulous. Very recommended to stay.

It was very pleasant. The service was nice and friendly staff. Though the location is a bit dogdy if you don't know the place.

Perfect location before the start of our trip with Intrepid. The hop on hop off bus stops right outside, it has indoor access to The Zone. Great staff, clean & comfortable rooms, AMAZING breakfast, freezing pool haha. If you like to people watch stay on the side overlooking the road.

The hotel has shuttle service. There is two kinds of ones. It is to go to a nearby place. It is necessary to enter the system. The system will print out a confirmation form to confirm the time and place the sign. The PPS driver is good. If you can't find it. It takes a little trouble to get to the driver by phone. 5 minutes walk from rosebank mall

Booked at short notice due to no water supply in my home neighborhood. The Houghton hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, helping me to extend my stay when water supply issues persisted at home and hotel was near capacity. I always had a great experience when coming here with my employer for conferences and strategy sessions, and the hotel maintains its high standards. Thank you yo the staff for making me as comfortable as possible in my makeshift temporary home!

By far, the best 5 star service that you will find in Johannesburg. The staff alone are professional enough for you to be motivated for your stay. The greeting from some of the first class managers including Bella, and Dingaan was exceptional! Then, we had a birthday trip planned, the senior manager Monica had arranged some incredible welcome surprises, and that just made the trip that much more enjoyable. Next, the restaurant, was busy from day through the night, with the best food, and I can tell you they had some excellent vegetarian options. Anywhere that we wanted to go, the staff were always on hand to accommodate with excellent service. I will be making another trip before the end of the year, it was that good. My husband and I stayed here twice while travelling through Joberg. It's nestled in a fantastic location close to Rosebank Arts and Crafts Market and ”The Zone” which has many nice restaurants/bars. As an added bonus it is also directly connected to Rosebank Mall. The hotel's modern rooms provide a comfortable haven, while the staff are all very lovely and helpful.

Almost everything exceeded our expectations, from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, you feel like royalty. The rooms are big and comfortable. The pillows sleep like a dream and the decor makes you feel like you're travelling back in time to when Marilyn Monroe was putting on her best show. Reception went out of their way to assist me with an extra bed for my daughter, free of charge. Breakfast was delicious. Someone is always asking if you want a coffee top up (yes please!). To the omelette chef, sir, I salute you! I LIVE for your omelettes. We even took advantage of the pool area, topped up my tan and enjoyed the clear, cool waters for a bit. If I were asked if there was anything they could do to improve our stay for next time, it would be a tiny one as this place already goes above and beyond. But, if anything, it would be to serve drinks at the pool. It would undoubtedly fulfil the dream stay. A couple of the waitresses came up to our table to tell my friend what beautiful eyes she has. If only they knew how much she needed the confidence boost, it's like God himself had sent them. Fire & Ice is simply the best! We were always greeted with the biggest smiles and best ”good mornings”, even told how radiant we look even though we'd just woken up. A lovely compliment goes a long way, so thank you! This Protea was fine with a younger more hip vibe but Marriott which is just across the road is more classy. I didn’t use the dining facilities. The location is excellent on Melrose Arch, very safe area and close by to many good restaurants. The best part is the Big Red City Bus stops right in front of the hotel. The location is an easy UBER ride to many of the tourist sites. The hotel serves an awesome breakfast with a large variety delicious of hot & cold foods. The dinner menu is also very good. The amenities are also very good. It offers excellent lounges and a beautiful court yard to relax in for drink, breakfast, coffee or to lounge by the pool.
