Baymont by Wyndham Johnson City

Wow. Just wow. This place was so bad. This place had a 3.5 rating when i stayed. For the price, (and considering anything higher rated in the area was around $150 a night) I thought maybe this place wouldnt be so bad. I was wrong. To start, the staff was very rude and unhelpful. The room smelled TERRIBLE. We shut the curtains, thinking they would block out some light only to find they were so moth eaten and worn through it looked like someone had shot at them. Door did not shut properly. Walls were paper thin and blocked out no noise whatsoever. I would never stay here again no matter the price

Hotel was nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Beds were not very comfortable could feel the springs inside the mattress. We had to complain first night about someone bumping loud music and guy that answered in office asked me what room as if to expect me to go door to door listening for it at midnight. He said he would go check. We stayed 3 nights, and the extremely loud very base heavy music happened everynight we were there even after asking them to rectify situation because we wanted to sleep. The other bad thing is the toilet paper was supposed to be "green" apparently. But it was crispy to the touch, i accidentally used it once and as a female it was very painful. Reminded me of the texture associated to fine grit sand paper. So if you choose this hotel bring your own wipes/toilet paper or risk injury. Our local family turned toilet paper into a joke because it was soooo bad. Other than that it was ok.

The room was a little out dated and it had a damp order to it but it served the purpose for one night!

I liked the area

We came to Johnson City to tour apartments in the area. We arrived later than expected due to my car’s battery going out, so that set us back about an hour than when we had planned to get there. Luckily we were stopped at a Love’s so someone was gracious enough to give us a jump, and I had realized that there was a Walmart within a mile and a half from the hotel, so that was amazing to find out. Check in was fine. We got to our room and it was spotless. My only complaint was that it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. I worked as a housekeeper in a hotel for a while, so I know firsthand that sometimes it’s hard to get the smell out once someone decides to not follow the rules and smoke in the rooms anyway. I cracked the door and turned the air on so it would air out for a bit and that helped a lot, we were all so tired from being in the car for so long that we just wanted to pass out in our beds. Everything else was fine though! Bed was clean and comfy. We didn’t get to go down and check breakfast out because we slept in. Check out was really easy too. My husband started my car with no issues in the morning so we didn’t have to worry about getting a jump or ubering to Walmart to get a new battery. Overall our stay was good!

Great customer service

No issues with the staff, they were all very nice! The main issue is the cleanliness of the room. There were stains on the bathroom floor and stains on the bedding. The mini fridge smelled horrible and didn’t keep things cold. Batteries hanging out of the fire alarm. Power outlet covers almost falling off the walls, and if you barely moved a cord that was plugged in it would very easily come unplugged. A lot of light shining through the window at night even with both curtains closed. The hotel rooms are very close to the main road so there was a lot of noise at night from traffic driving by.

I've stayed at this Baymont many times and have always been greeted with hospitality. Sometimes people ( like all of us) can have bad days. But for the most part they have been kind and courteous. The upgraded rooms are a big upgrade. You can tell they put care into the way the rooms look and how comfortable they want the guest. There's so many different restaurants with in walking distance. The mall. Walmart. Rental cars.

I’ve been here for a couple weeks, and the staff has been great. Very kind and very willing to help with any need. Imrn, in specific, has asked me many times if I need anything at all. If I did, he took care of me, and did so in a timely manner. I have interacted with many of the other staff, and they all have been very kind and attentive.
