My hubby and I made a last-minute booking on December 31st for one night, checking in at 11:30 PM. The friendly and professional male receptionist briefly explained the room details to us. While the rooms are non-smoking, a designated smoking area is available on the ground floor.
We booked the Studio Deluxe King and were given a room on the 39th floor. The room was clean and spacious, featuring a kitchenette with a microwave. The king-size bed was very cozy, and the bathroom was well-equipped with a bidet, an amenity kit, shower gel, shampoo, lotion and conditioner. The TV had a wide range of local channels.
The next day, my hubby called reception twice, to inquire about late checkout rates. On both occasions, the female staff on the line confirmed a rate of RM12.50/hour. We decided to proceed with a late checkout. However, upon arriving at the reception desk to settle the bill, my hubby was surprised when the bill amounted to RM162.
Upon checkout at 4PM, we went to the reception to clarify the discrepancy. The staff who attended, Ms Zulaila Azreen, promptly investigated the matter and helped reverse the charge on our card. She explained that it's actually RM100 or more for checkout at 3 PM or 6 PM, suggesting pre-payment upon check in for better rates. Her customer service was exceptional.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely consider returning. While the confusion with the late checkout rate was a bit frustrating, we enjoyed the comfortable rooms and peaceful atmosphere. I hope the hotel can provide further training for its staff, especially regarding accurate communication about hotel rates and charges.
