Our favorite resort in the Kona area. We have stayed here quite a few times over the years. We love everything about this resort. It's not too big, it's very clean, the grounds are spectacular and the staff are on top of things. I want to give big credit to the lady who helped us nearly 1 year ago in the VI office. We had some issues (our own fault) and would've had to have moved to 3 different rooms over our 10 day stay. Thanks to her, for spending so much time and effort, we had the luxury of not having to move at all. She did some shuffling around and made this happen. We love it here and will only stay here when in Kona.

The Condo was in good condition, could’ve used new carpet and paint touch up but despite that very clean!!! The size the condo was perfect and we could see the ocean from the patio doors. The kitchen was well serviced with clean nice dishes. The washer/dryer was a fabulous feature we used!! The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was including and easy to find. Condo was close to Kona Inn shopping and the bypass road used for Hwy 11. Would definitely recommend staying there!!! The guest book in the condo to write your own entry was so fun to read what other guests had done!!

I was nervous to stay here given the reviews and with the current construction I wouldn't have been happy to pay full price (not because of noise/dust, but because the restaurants/spa/bars/etc. are not all up and running!) but I got a nice 30% off deal through the Outrigger website and was happy with what we paid. I chose the oceanfront room knowing I'd get a good view (too many oceanview hotels only offer a glimpse of the water) but never imagined the incredible surprise we got - our room faced directly out to where the lights shine for the manta rays each night so it was like we had our our private manta observation deck! It was unreal! The room was comfy, clean and spacious; the staff were super friendly and helped quickly when our balcony was flooded after a storm, and we loved the morning yoga, mac nut lattes at holoholo market, and the easy self parking (it's really not a long walk). The beach pool was closed for renos but we enjoyed the courtyard pool very much, and the grounds were stunning to walk around in the morning an evening - keep a lookout for goats on the rocks! We were also able to walk to and from Keauhou Bay marina for our night snorkle with the mantas which was super convenient. KTA superstore and L&L BBQ are just down the road for quick eats and the location was perfect for visiting K'au, Kona coffee farms and to get to the airport. Can't wait to stay again when the renovations are complete!

I feel that the hotel guests are too old. The environment can be anything. The hotel is a bit of a year. Everything is ok. The price is generally telling the truth.

This was our second stay at the “new” Kona Village, early September last year and again earlier this month. The hale design and amenities are first-rate and make for a wonderful, comfortable stay. We particularly love the large bathrooms and roomy outdoor lanai area. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful and extremely well maintained. We appreciated the overall dining menu enhancements, much improved from a year ago. The beach area has added shade options, much to our liking; while swimming in the bay continues to be a most relaxing, memorable activity. Service overall from every department was exceptionally friendly and professional. The “ohana spirit” is much more apparent than a year ago. Special recognitions are as follows: Jericho in Reception was really personable at check-in and helped secure the same hale we enjoyed last year. We had great service from Sean at breakfast and requested him each morning (he quickly remembered my standing order). Gabriela with In-Room Dining was a delightful voice on the phone and friendly help in having lunch delivered to our hale lanai each day. We also had the pleasure to meet Daniel Scott, Rosewood Regional VP, and speak with him at length about our personal highlights in visiting KV numerous times since 1980. Kona Village “was” and “is” a totally unique and relaxing vacation experience, both the “old” and the “new” versions. Yes, a lot has changed and is different. However, bottom line, it is still Kona Village through and through, for which we are very grateful.

Imagine enjoying a delicious breakfast sitting on the broad lanai of the house at Ka'awa Loa Planation. An enticing array of fruit, juices, eggs and baking fills your plate while your eyes take in the beautiful view down into the valley to the ocean. Whatever your plans for the day, items such as beach towels, coolers, sunscreen, beach chairs and umbrellas are available to borrow. Host Hannah will offer recommendations as to where to visit. Her knowledge and her breakfasts are second to none. We stayed in the cottage on the property. Although small, there was plenty of room for the two of us. The cottage will sleep 4 comfortably if two of the four are children. It would be crowded with four adults. There is a lovely small patio behind the cottage which caught the morning sun and made good spot to sit, read and admire the garden. I highly recommend staying at Ka'awa Loa when visiting South Kona. We plan to stay again on this lovely property when we next return to the Big Island.

The hotel has no walls or wooden boards, it is just surrounded by anti-mosquito sand nets, and there are curtains around the bed. It's still a bit cold in January. The shower is outdoors, with a curtain, and it's a bit cold, so it's not convenient. The air in the forest is good and the chirping of insects is pleasant. Breakfast is very simple, bread, boiled eggs, and some fruit. I don’t like it a bit but I don’t feel full. The novelty is quite good, a bit like camping. Don't come with children, they are scared, and people here go to bed early and require quietness. The kids were bored and had to be quiet.

YYiu ChunWhen we check in, the front desk lady was being nice and friendly
Unfo you missed our room for housekeeping the next day and we came back after 6pm, called the front desk to arrange it and was rejected at first as after 4pm. At the end a lady came by and changed the towels.
We didn’t put any DNB sign on so it was entirely upto your handling, not upto our expectation for Marriott group in this regards
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a good location, just around the corner is the beach, and there is a great sea view restaurant. The view inside the hotel is shown in the first picture, which is beyond imagination. How about the room? The air conditioner is an old-fashioned window air conditioner, blowing directly at the head of the bed, which is very noisy. The bathroom is also relatively old, and the water pressure and water temperature are relatively stable. The bedding is quite comfortable. The hotel also has parking spaces, which is car rental friendly. Overall, it's 4 stars
GGuest UserThe hotel's breakfast is quite satisfactory, but basic milk, bread, fruits and the like are available. There is a public snack bar on the first floor. Coffee and fruits are available all day. The back door of the hotel is a row of snack bars. There is also a farmers' market across the street. The shopping is quite good. The overall location is in the center of Kona, and the transportation is convenient. I especially liked the waiter's attitude was good, that is, the hotel does not provide a kettle, only a coffee machine and a microwave oven, the elders may not adapt to live.
GGuest UserFacilities: It is indeed a bit old, and the selected tower is under renovation. But the front desk gave me a corner room with a large balcony facing the Pacific Ocean. The scenery was amazing.
Environment: The hotel courtyard is open and the environment is very good. There are restaurants and convenience stores next to it, and the parking lot is quite large. Next to the hotel is also the best place to watch the sunset.
Hygiene: average
Service: Very good
