Carpet was tacky (sticky), Lacking in towels. Blood spot on the beige shower curtain. Owners have a little barking, nipping dog that 'helps' clean the rooms (jumping on bed etc). Not really anywhere for a pet to 'use' outdoors. Their way of cleaning your room is by making the bed, with the same sheets you've been sleeping on for 4 days. I'm all for being 'green', but really? Sink & tub never got cleaned while there. Freeway is right outside your door and is constant noise, not to mention the trains going by. No coffee maker in room. Flat pillows. *sigh....not recommended.

G the room smelled so bad like Pine-Sol I almost gagged and I'm still having to lay here with the door open. The bed was like laying on a brick the door took about 5 minutes to open because it wasn't working correctly. The pop machine ate our money and there is no refunds. This is one of the worst motels I've stayed in in over 15 years. The only reason I even gave one star was because it wouldn't let me submit it without doing that

This hotel was clean in the bathroom, but the carpet and chairs were not. Dust covered the broken lamps. I literally stripped the bed and slept with my pillow and blankets. I can't say you get what you pay for. Because it really wasn't a bargain at $77. Close to fishing

The person at the desk was friendly we asked for a room with a comfortable bed. We got a comfortable bed but no a/c it didnt work and no screen on the window to open it without everyone seeing in. It was horribly hot. The girl at the desk said they would get it fixed and to just go to dinner. We should have just left like we were going to. We came back to a still hot room and no attempt to fix the a/c. It was too late at night and we were told that we still had to pay for the room if we left. I asked to speak to the someone else who could help but nobody was available until the morning. I went to get ice to help cool down and found an empty ice machine it was also not working. I opened the bathroom window over the shower and tried to go to sleep. The pocket sized pillow for the bed was too small to really use. I went to get another one and they had none. I used my clothes. In the morning I checked out and asked to speak again with someone about my stay and the girl said it was already done. I would receive a refund of 33.27. I thanked her and left. I still have not received the refund a month later but did get a text from them today stating per the OYO refund policy I would not be receiving one. Wow! It was just a ploy to get me out of the office so they could keep collecting money. Do Not Stay Here not worth it!

I recently stayed at the Kalama Hotel, and I’m pleased to report that it was a great experience. The check-in process was quick, the staff was friendly, and the town had charming shops and good restaurants. there is a nice walking path along the Columbia River and some little parks as well.

The hotel is the worst experience we have ever had. The room was dirty, people smoking right outside the door. Music playing loud after 10pm. We had to call the police to address the problem as there is no management available to handle the problem. I would not recommend at all

Check-in process was easy as I had stayed there four times before and was in the system. The rooms are clean, basic and a good value for the price. The hotel is close to town and next door to the Columbia Inn restaurant and bar. They are in the process of remodeling and changing ownership from OYO to Kalama Hotel. As a result the remodel is on going. Areas needing attention are as follows: old fluorescent single tube light in the middle of the living room is inadequate and outdated. More modern lighting needs to be installed with table and bedside lamps. New pillows are long overdue. Current pillow foam has disintegrated and pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. Bath towels, hand towels and wash rags all need to be replaced. Currently they are very thin, small and very scratchy. Bath towels are the size hand towels. The Kalama The black mold that's starting to grow on the ceiling of the shower area needs to be eliminated as well as drywall repair and paint. The subflooring in the bathroom needs to be replaced. When you step into the bathroom the floor creaks and moves.

Worst experience I have ever had while traveling. The manager was rude and told the counter person to get me out of there out. Had been there a week and needed to stay longer. He would not let me extend my stay. He could rent the room for more money as he was full. This is not a top of the line hotel. The beds are old and worn out. The bath rooms are a health hazard.
