The location and the view of the guesthouse were perfect. We had a deluxe room and the loft, everything was perfect. Florian and his team are great hosts and take care of all our wishes. We felt very safe in Kalk Bay, even when it was already dark. We would go back anytime!

Chartfield is run by its owner Florian. The place is very pretty and extremely tastefully furnished, every item, every piece is easy on the eye and serves a purpose. The views are spectacular. Breakfast was excellent, too. Florian is very helpful with tips for his guests and is fluent in English and German (maybe more?). His staff was very competent and super friendly. There is a pretty pool area but we did not make use of it. It is only a short walk to the village with its many bars and restaurants, down some cobbled steps just by the side of the guesthouse.

Great for a family stay in the centre of Kalk Bay
Great location, easy walk to harbour front, bars and restaurants. We had the comfort suite, which was seperate to the main guest house. It was very, very spacious, with wonderful views from the master bedroom/lounge on the first floor. It was cold whilst we were there. There is a log burner on each floor which you can purchase firewood/lighters for at reception. This was a must for the cold days. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helped when needed. Security were visible but made us feel safe.

Wir haben drei Nächte in diesem charmanten Hotel verbracht und waren rundum begeistert. Schon beim Empfang wurden wir herzlich willkommen geheissen, was einen tollen Start für unseren Aufenthalt bedeutete. Das Hotel selbst strahlt unglaublich viel Charme aus, eine perfekte Mischung aus Stil und Gemütlichkeit. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das sehr freundliche Personal und die wunderbare Terrasse zum Frühstücken Ein wundervoller Aufenthalt – wir kommen gerne wieder!

This place is divine! A beautiful old house, lovely decor, spacious, incredible views, great location, and really lovely staff! Freshly ground coffee delivered to your room at a time you choose each morning was a great touch. I fell in love with Kalk Bay - what a gem of a town. And I'd highly recommend staying at Chartfield to anyone looking to visit Kalk Bay.

Everything was great. Best breakfast we had on our tour, super friendlly staff, Florian -the owner - was every morning in the House and asked for our wishes. The Viehs from the Guesthouse are exzellent

Good view with less human touch.
Nice view. Excellent breakfast. Less nice with a small room without any window. Strange welcome by a young woman - more keen to get us out of the way than saying welcome and listen to our questions.
