Not a 5 star, maybe 4 star! Had disappointing stay. Beautiful place but not as beautiful and big as the pictures, clean rooms, very kind housekeepers but the staff were not so friendly and tried not help, specially females! we were 2 ladies and asked for ladies pad but they gave us just 1 pad after 2 days and said they don't have any ladies pad in the hotel! how is that possible? even in every public washrooms there is ladies pad too but in a 5 star hotel.. very disappointing. the location is not closed to any pharmacy or supermarket so we couldn't buy it by ourselves and they didn't help us! As a 5 star beach resort no seafood on the menu and also no international food. just local food full of spice and we actually didn't eat any food for 4 days! to everything we ordered, added 30% tax and service charge. what does it mean ”service charge” for a 5 star hotel to bring our order just to our table not even to our room?????!!!!!! also not possible to use the beach because it was very dangerous and there was just 1 man looked at us and didn't seem to rescue us if anything happened! and just 4 unclean plastic sunbeds on the beach, so many dogs slept under them! many many crows were all over the hotel and stole our foods and very scary but everyone just watched and didn't do anything! when we told the manager he just said we can't do anything, watch out your things!!!! no entertainment, no music just some entertainment plans that costs a lot plus 30%!! overall its not worth it to book this hotel. we heard there are many better hotels in the area.

A good hotel on the first line of the ocean, located away from the road and from the city, in the off-season there are no cafes and places to eat nearby, so you have to eat at the hotel, you can take a buffet for lunch and dinner. The beach near the hotel is the only place for swimming in the off-season, a natural breakwater protects the shore and forms a kind of ocean pool. Friendly staff, quick check-in, a large and warm pool, funny badgers/squirrels, monitor lizards dart around the territory became an additional bonus to a great time. It's really a hard-to-describe experience. No wonder not many Chinese people stay here. The hotel belongs to a local chain hotel. Although it is rated 5 stars on Ctrip, the hotel walls are covered with tripadvisor sgs and other certifications, and it is a legacy designed by Bawa, but it is really disappointing after checking in. It happened to be a small peak when checking in. Several tour groups checked in at the same time, and the front desk seemed a bit busy. Fortunately, the passports and luggage were not messed up, and the room card was safely obtained. The hotel is a bit large, and the building where the front desk is located is really 5🌟. Bawa's skills were definitely epoch-making works 50 years ago. But as soon as you leave the main building of the hotel, it's like going to another hotel, and the sense of age hits you. Especially the lawn in the middle looks like a prison yard. The lawn is undecorated and bumpy. There are a few wild dogs wandering around. After entering the room, it's just okay, but compared with the main building, it's worth 3🌟 at most. But because it is very close to the sea, the ground on the second floor will also be damp for no reason. Although the hotel was renovated in 2019, the facilities in the room are also very illogical. There is only one empty power socket in the whole room, and the rest are plugged in lamps, kettles, TVs and other equipment. The switch of the ceiling light is very interesting. The switch on the left bed controls the light on the right bed. When I checked in, I also took my child to the children's playground, which is the kind of indoor children's playground in domestic shopping malls, but the maintenance inside is really not good. The most terrible thing is that no one cares even when the cover of the electric box is opened. If it were in the United States, it would have been sued for compensation. The food is not expensive, but the taste is not online. But to be honest, the waiters here are more local and down-to-earth, probably because most of the hotel guests are locals. There are less than 10 white and Asian people in the whole hotel who stay for breakfast. It is obviously different from anatara where I stayed before. There may be more European and American customers there, and the employees are used to tiptiptiptip for everything. Bentota is more sincere

Breakfast is still good. But the room really feels that the price is very low. The room of 500 is shown below. Two 0.9-stitched beds, no place to put the suitcase, so moving out of the balcony can only say that the room is really small, the balcony to see is the picture is very scattered. This hotel is really lively, I feel very depressed, so I checked out after one night. In fact, Bentota has a lot of family-friendly B&Bs with good value for money. Generally, the breakfast is good for 250 packs. Come to Bentota and recommend staying at the B&B. This hotel is the second worst tourist in Lanka. There is no clothes to dry clothes. People who may live here do not wash clothes. It’s not good to go into the whole person. The swimming pool is a nice view and very close to the beach. This price is not recommended. Can be better.

Beautiful hotel, all rooms with sea views, two swimming pools. Cons: lack of towels by the pool, we waited 20 minutes for them to be brought to us; when leaving the hotel we were presented with a bill from the bar, from which we had not ordered anything, it took about 40 minutes to sort it out, which was not very pleasant
