Very bright, modern and comfortable little hotel near - about 2 km - the entrance to the Vijayanagar site at Hampi. It is family-run and very friendly and helpful. If you don't have your own transport, you will need to use a taxi or tuktuk to get to shops and restaurants; although you can order and have delivered food from the excellent restaurant run by the same family. They provide breakfast - Indian or European - to order.

An Indian homestay is much like a guesthouse in the UK. The English-speaking hosts at Mango Tree were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and whilst our stay was room-only, they prepared breakfasts both mornings for a small charge. The room was very nice for a homestay; clean, well-maintained and reasonably sized with an ensuite wet-room and effective air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable but having single glazing means you’d be wise to pack earplugs to counter dogs barking and early-rising locals. The only real shortcomings was having nowhere to hang or place clothes (no shelves, wardrobes, drawers, etc) so we had to live out of our suitcases. Having soft & fluffy towels would’ve been nice too. A communal seating area in the terrace made for a welcome outdoor space at the beginning and end of the day for the five rooms. The Mango Tree is on the outskirts of the village so having a car to get about would be helpful, but the rickshaw arranged by the owner for the two days we were there was absolutely fine. The archaeological site is huge and if you follow the three-day recommended itinerary of the tourist office, we quickly got temple-overload and in hindsight we’d have been happier with the (full) one-day itinerary.

I and my three friends visited Hampi in September 2023.For our stay there we picked Mango Tree (homestay) as we had heard a lot of rave reviews from other friends who had been to Hampi earlier. It is a charming and cosy place to stay at. We were all so relieved as the place is filled with greenery and is nestled in Kamlapur which is near to Hampi. The room was neat and clean with AC, TV & a bathroom .The breakfast which they serve was authentic and yum and if you need dinner they would arrange it from a nearby restaurant. The staff was cordial and the lady at the helm Ms.Laxmi was a thorough professional. She also helped us get an auto driver cum guide Mr.Mustafa who helped us see all the important historical sites at Hampi. We all are deeply thankful for all the support and service we received from each one of them. We would like to recommend this place to all the future visitors at Hampi.

Spacious and hygienic room. Home cooked breakfast was nice. We didn't want to stay very close to the Bazaar or the ruins. Hence this option suited us. This homestay is about 6 kms from the main ruins. Calm and quiet locality. Host Lakshmi and her assistant Kajal ensured we had a hassle-free stay.

Tutto è stato ottimo. L'attenzione e la disponibilità nei nostri confronti, la camera spaziosa con bagno, il buonissimo wifi. Forse leggermente distante dal sito ma con le biciclette non è un problema, ancor meno non tuk tuk

Run by the same family who owns Hampi's famous Mango Tree restaurant .Though located slightly off the ruins, on one end of Kamalapur town, it hardly takes 15-20 minutes by auto to all the major attractions. In fact, we found the location to be ideal to crash after a long day of exploring the ruins. Our auto driver Mr. Mustafa recommended by the homestay was really good and stayed with us throughout the trip. Complimentary breakfast was freshly prepared local homemade fare every time, which is served either in your room or in the open terrace on our preference. Also the owner and staffs were really polite in accommodating all our special requests for my 4 year old son. You also have the option to order food for dinner from their restaurant located near the Virupaksha temple. Definitely a good hassle free option to consider for your Hampi trip.Though I am not aware of the quality of other local homestays, this was one of the most expensive homestays available online at the time of booking.

We stayed for 2 nights. Its a neat & clean place with spacious rooms & bathrooms. Limited options for food ordering. Its off the main street, prefer only if you have own vehicle. Generally recommended for families with kids.

We recently visited hampi for 4 nights & 5 days , our stay was at Mango tree homestay. It was an amazing experience and thought of sharing here. Mango tree homestay is a well maintained place, the rooms are on first floor of the bunglow. The owner is polite and cooperative. She makes sure that arrangements in room (clean bedsheets, clean towels) are upto the mark. You can get breakfast on request. Rooms & bathrooms are clean. The owner arranged a guide for us. Pampa - +91 94491 71754 Pampa is polite and honours the commitment. We toured hampi with pampa right from sunrise to sunset , which included some unexplored places. He is well aware of the places and it's history which made our tour more interesting. So overall our hampi experience was amazing and would recommend that everyone must visit atleast once.
