Holiday Inn Express Kamloops

Stayed at holiday inn express in Kamloops with 9 under baseball team. 15 rooms in total. Watching MLB playoffs in OT at around 9pm in a common lobby area that's also used for breakfast. Got approached by front desk saying tv had to be shut off due to noise. Noise was due to about 12 adults without alcohol as you weren't allowed that either. Alcohol I kind of get, I guess. The next afternoon after our games we were told we couldn't have the TV on at 3 in the afternoon because the common area is actually a breakfast area. I was given a business card with the name Narender Gurram as the manager and told to call him. Mr. Gurram was quite short and rude not wanting to listen to anything. He stipulated it was not a common area with a 55 inch tv hung on the wall but only a breakfast area. They also hid the remote like they were dealing with children. Family children went to use pool area that was poorly lit and very strong chlorine small effecting eyes and breathing. Reported to front desk and was met with little concern. Removed kids from pool. We have now heard from other teams with past experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Kamloops who experienced the same or simular treatment. There are plenty of hotels in Kamloops, as in the Coast hotel, the Thompson hotel, etc that treat their customers with respect not as a money grab.

It failed on a 5 star because of being too cheapskate on a very inexpensive but nice to have couple of perks. I rented a $400 a night suite and for $.60 cents they could have offered a couple of free bottles of water and for a couple of dollars they could have invested in a couple of glass wine glasses. This would have got them my 5 star rating maybe I will give the Fairmont a shot next time.

Staff Dallas is so good very energetic The breakfast selection was very rich, and the staff were extremely warm and polite. The room facilities were excellent, especially the shower in the bathroom. It was incredibly comfortable and washed away all my fatigue.

It was easy to find but the room was awful. The king size bed was so low to the floor you could not even sit on the edge. There was no box spring and the bed, well you could feel the bed frame through the mattress. Will not be staying there again.

Staff excellent. Room was clean but not detailed. Tops of the baseboards in the bathroom show aging and dust. Bed comfortable and so we’re the pillows. Good amenities with breakfast included. I didn’t use the pool etc. I would stay there again for access to highway.
