Six Senses Kanuhura

Arriving to the island of Kanuhura, was for us, like being dropped off in paradise, and we felt relaxed almost instantly. We were greeted by the staff on the jetty, and although this in a drill for them, that they go through several times per day it felt very sincere. We dropped our shoes in the cotton bags provided and we didn’t put them back on until we left the island. At the jetty we met our Guest Experience Manager (GEM) Arshad who was our contract throughout our stay. We really appreciated his way of being available for all our questions whenever we needed it, without being pushy. He, together with the rest of the staff made our stay great. The atmosphere at the island is super down to earth & relaxed. All staff and 90% of all guests were always barefoot. The food was amazing and very importantly made from super fresh produce. The breakfast buffet plus a la carte menu, provides all your heart may desire and is extremely clean and well laid out. There is a good variety between the 4-5 restaurants on the island. We stayed in a beach villa with pool on the sunrise side of the island and was really happy with this location. The cleaning and daily tending to our room had a very high standard. In general, the resort is very well kept and clean. We had some great snorkeling experience on trips that were either complementary or some that we bought extra like the Turtle Safari and Nurse Shark trips. There is not so much of a house reef around island, but it is still possible to do some good snorkeling just off the beach. The beach is beautiful while sand. For us going in June was an amazing experience, as it wasn’t busy and personally, we loved that. The only minuses that we can think of was that the prices in the spa on treatments and products, were way too high! That said the massages that we received were very good. We loved that everyone receives their personal bike on arrival for transport around this small island. It takes just 35 minutes to walk around the water’s edge. All in all, we had an amazing 10 night and could easily have stayed longer. We loved this holiday!!!

Visiting Kanuhura felt like the best parts of previous holidays had all been put together in one place. I cannot fault it. It is truly stunning throughout the day and from different views and perspectives. A true luxury experience and treat to visit. - Exceptional staff who are attentive, friendly, welcoming and approachable. They go above and beyond to create a wonderfully relaxing and luxury experience. - Everyone we came across met us with a friendly greeting and a smile. We enjoyed the community feel of the island and it was an honour to be part of it for a time. - We valued the time spent with the managers - we enjoyed their company and learning more about the island. The manager's drinks were a great event. - Our GEM was always friendly and quick to respond queries. She was a great point of contact throughout our stay. - With regards to the island itself and the facilities, we were impressed by how impeccably they were maintained. It was clear a lot of effort and daily work went into keeping them so pristine, and this too, added to the luxury guest experience and feeling of 'paradise'. The small touches did not go unnoticed. - The cleaning staff were outstanding. Every day, we were pleasantly surprised by the high standard and quality of the rooms and facilities. What a wonderful place.

Beach, food, weather what's not to love

We have just returned from the most beautiful holiday at Six Senses Kanuhura. From the moment you arrive at the Six Senses Lounge at Male airport to await your seaplane, you feel your holiday has started. Your shoulders drop the moment you arrive at Kanhura. Take off your Shoes, and you'll be told to set your watch to Island time! The standard of accommodation is superb and seamlessly blends with the natural beauty of the Island. Our Deluxe Beach Villa was a testament to this, with every possible need catered for, even waterproofs for the rain ! Our GEM, Shifu, was a true gem indeed. Her exceptional service made us feel valued and important as if we were the only guests in the resort. The food and wine at the resort are exceptional. We ate in all the restaurants, and all meals were delicious with excellent attentive service. The Market where breakfast is served offers an incredible selection—everything you could think of. All the staff are amazing; nothing is too much trouble. The spa treatments are excellent, especially Makihu. Leaving the resort was a bittersweet moment, a testament to the amazing experience we had. We will be back. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team, your exceptional service and warm hospitality made us feel appreciated and connected. You’re all truly amazing.

We have spent some incredible days at the hotel. The atmosphere of relaxation and tranquility and the good atmosphere that is breathed is undoubtedly the result of great work by the entire team, who always treat you with the best of their smiles. The different restaurants with very delicious food, the cocktails, the sunsets, the excursions to see turtles and other marine fauna... everything is perfect. The aquatic activities center is also very complete. Our GEM Arshad is a 10, he made us forget about everything and disconnect by taking care of all our needs. We definitely recommend this hotel. Time passes at a different speed from the moment you take off your shoes when you get off the seaplane.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Six Senses Kanuhura and loved our special time there! From the minute you arrive and are met on the jetty by Bryce the GM and his team who instruct you to take off your shoes and switch your phones to island time, you realise that you are in for a treat! A barefoot luxury stay on a very beautiful and special Island. We stayed in 2 over water villas which were very comfortable with lovely vistas out to sea. Our Guest Experience Maker (GEM) was Sammeh and he was a gem indeed! Nothing was too much trouble to organise. We loved riding around the island on our bikes - the ultimate freedom. Meals were delicious - we particularly loved the Spanish tapas and the Asian Market and the canapés at the cocktail party on the beach were delicious too. We enjoyed amazing cocktails in the pool, a spectacular scuba dive, incredible spa treatments and the five of us did our first aerial yoga class together which was one for the books! All in all memories to cherish forever on this beautiful island. At night the soft lights transform it into a truly romantic and special space. We left with happy hearts and want to thank the Kanuhura Family for going the extra mile for us, it was so appreciated.

We absolutely loved our magical 10 days (want more!) at the Six Senses. Gorgeous villas, delicious food, amazing ice cream/sorbet Scoops bar, warm and attentive staff, kids club activities for the young ones and massages for the parents….activities and days filled with wonder, escape from everyday business, deliciousness and show-stopping sunsets…just wow! We had the best time!
