The room was large, and the hotel front desk clerk was very enthusiastic and took us to the room personally! Breakfast is very rich! There are also welcome refreshments upon check-in! Worth recommending

The interior, service and food are all amazing👍
It's full of luxury✨
However, since it's not a Japanese hot spring, it might feel a bit lukewarm for Japanese people.

In October this year, my husband and I spent two weeks in a 5-star and one of the most expensive hotels in Karlovy Vary - Luxury Spa Hotel Olympic Palace (you can read my husband review on Google and TripAdvisor), and then flew to Rome, where we stayed in a regular 5-star hotel Umilta 36, which is located in the city center and is always full of guests. There were no smells in the hotel lobby, despite the fact that there was a restaurant on the same floor. We were met by the reception staff and informed that in accordance with the hotel rules, we would be provided with a room of a higher class than we ordered, without additional payment, and were shown to the room. In a large room with a beautiful modern design, we saw magnificent furniture, and in the bathroom and toilet we found all the toiletries (soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shaving kit, mouthwash and much more). The room also had an electric kettle and a coffee machine, capsules with high-quality coffee and bags with high-quality tea. The minibar has water, juices and cans of carbonated drinks for free. During our stay we did not see or hear the cleaners, although the room was cleaned twice a day. We had breakfast at the hotel, where we were offered a large selection of very tasty food. In the end, to our great regret, we realized that the Luxury Hotel Olympic Palace is significantly inferior to an ordinary 5-star hotel.

Friendly staff and pleasant stay , we will come to them every year to have medical treatments. The spa was amazing and the services were very nice. Our suite was the biggest one and we had a great experience there. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Main issue was bad price-value ratio, price politic of the hotel, probably extremely hot room and dry air and high price for extra child. Sorry, but 30€ to charge child for breakfast is way too high. I would not describe this as a family friendly hotel. Also extra charges for parking - 10€ per night came on top. This is not the case when booking with some other hotels directly. Also, one would expect for the price to have one treatment included, as some other hotels do, but it wasn’t the case. Room service , concierge, mattress were perfect. We also liked the sauna and pool area, though wished water would have been a bit warmer.

For the fifth year in a row, my wife and I spend two weeks in the Olympic Palace Spa Hotel in October and, of course, we notice the changes that have occurred. I'll start with the positive ones - daily delivery of mineral water to your room (with or without gas, at your choice), delivery of a vase of fruit to your room almost every other day, and all this is free. High-quality daily cleaning of the rooms, change of towels, robes and linen has been in place in all previous years and has remained so to this day. The high level of the Spa has been maintained and I would like to note the high professionalism and personality of Dr. P. Vykristenko as well as Spa attendants I. Kempfova and N. Dolezhalova. Senior waiters Martin and David also deserve high professional praise. All of them create the microclimate that makes us constantly return to this hotel. And now, with great regret, I would like to note the very unpleasant things that have happened over the past year. If you arrive at the hotel at 7-8 am or go to the colonnade for water, the lobby greets you with a persistent smell of fried eggs, boiled sausages and many other smells, and this is in a 5-star hotel. The rooms did not have capsule and pod coffee makers, as in luxury hotels, but ordinary electric kettles and bags of instant coffee and tea without smell and taste. The food in the restaurant has deteriorated greatly, it has become simply tasteless and certainly does not correspond to a 5-star hotel. Moreover, during lunch and dinner, the waiters fry meat or fish, which is more than strange. All this upsets us very much and we do not know whether we will come next year to our favorite (that's what we called it) hotel. And lastly, in each hotel room there is a brochure called Join our loyalty program, which describes the benefits of multiple stays at this hotel. We were at the hotel 5 times and did not receive any of the benefits described in the program. This is all just a scam(a photo of this Loyalty program attached).

1. Excessivly rude and unprofessional restaurant personnel. We wanted to get better coffee from the bar for breakfast for payment, but it turned out to be a huge problem. More over, the personnel expressed open hostility and irritation the rest of our stay. 2. Intruding and very insistive cleaning service. Knocked the door each morning at 8, while we were halv awoke and showed dissappointment we were still not our of the room. 3. Receptionist hardly speak english, including the rest of hotel personnel. You can never rely on whether your request will be understood and fullfilled. 4. Overpriced buffet, which doesnt live up to 5 star luxery level at all. 5.On the day of our departure we preordered room service for breakfast. To our enourmous suprise it never came, and they appologized using some incomprehensive reasons. Simply unbeliveable incompetentence from top to toe. We suspect the stars in the hotel are simply purchased, seeing the corruption and bribery in town in general. Hotel is not nearly a five star luxery place as they announce, and the prices dont offer the expected quality of anything.

I'm currently staying at the Olympic Palace and booked it because the reviews were so good - not because it looked amazing or because the price was good - neither was the case. I just wanted the nicest hotel in town besides Pupp. Unfortunately, this hotel was way below even a four star standard. We paid 300 euro/night and called ahead to ask if we could pay a bit extra to upgrade to a larger room with a balcony. They offered a Deluxe Room with a Balcony for 20 euro extra per night. When we arrived at midnight, there was only one poor woman at the reception who was brand new on the job. She tried so hard but it took 10 minutes just to process our documents and then when I confirmed it would be a Deluxe Room with Balcony, she said no - but that we were charged the 20 euros anyways. When I asked about the larger room, she said it would be over 100 euro/night and would take a very long time to get us in a room like this. We just wanted to sleep so took the small room, which was not very nice. The shower head did not work the entire time, neither did the AC. My assistant called ahead to book a spa afternoon for us and ask what the spa would recommend. We tried calling the spa the day-of and they never picked up. We went down and were told to return in our robes. There was no spa reception. We were told to go back up to our room and find the paper with our spa confirmations and go directly to those rooms. It was the most rushed massage I've ever had - even before my back hit the bed, it started on my feet. It was a fine massage, but not what I'd expect from a spa hotel. Afterwards, the spa staff had recommended the "salt room" - we were excited, thinking this must be some kind of salt scrubbing room or unique experience. No. It was a room with fake salt hanging from the ceiling, very cold AC, and beds with dirty blankets thrown over us, sitting in lawn chairs. It was supposed to be a 45 min experience - just sitting in the chairs doing nothing. We left immediately. The spa team, when we finally found them, said "it's supposed to be like smelling the salt in the ocean" - it was a hilarious excuse for a spa treatment, which we're still laughing about. They tried to charge 30 euro for this. The pool person (once we found him) also said the pool was thermal waters. They were not. The service here is limited, the property is nothing special, the price is high compared to the rest of the town, the spa is not nice, spa staff are nowhere to be found, the system is confusing, and it was by no means relaxing.
Response from Property: Hello! I am responding to your review. It is very difficult for me to see how many negative emotions your stay left you with and on how many different websites you have presented your comments. Let's go over each point: 1/ Request for a FREE upgrade On the day of your arrival, your (probably) assistant repeatedly called for a free upgrade to a DeLuxe category room (although you had booked a standard double room in the Comfort category). When we refused this request several times (our policy on free upgrades is clearly defined), you only ordered a room with a balcony for an additional charge of EUR 20. Demanding an additional charge for an upgrade to a higher category room was therefore clearly justified on our part. I would just like to point out that the price for a DeLuxe category room on our website was EUR 100 higher than the Comfort category room you booked. The requested additional charge was therefore also correct. 2/ Duration of check-in The extension of the check-in time to 10 minutes was due to dealing with your repeated request for an upgrade. 3/ Non-functional shower and AC We place great importance on the functionality of all the equipment in our rooms. This is checked during the cleaning of the room before each guest's arrival. During your stay, we did not record any complaints about a non-functional shower and AC in your room in our fault log. I would be very grateful if you could let me know where or when you reported these deficiencies. 4/ Complaints about the SPA reception I am sorry for your comments regarding the absence of the SPA receptionist and your reservations about the recommendations for treatments for your SPA afternoon. Our SPA is a place we are very proud of, and everything there should be perfect. The SPA reception is the face of the entire SPA and Wellness area, and it is not possible for no one to be present. 5/ Salt cave Salt therapy, or halotherapy, takes place in a room filled with rock salt crystals or Dead Sea salt. A session in the salt cave usually lasts three-quarters of an hour to an hour. The beneficial effect of the salt cave is mainly due to the high concentration of salt micro-particles, a large amount of iodine, and trace elements. Negatively ionized air is supposed to balance the ion imbalance to which our body is exposed. The microclimate present in salt caves is supposed to have ideal quality, humidity, and salt micro-particles clean the respiratory tract, skin, and the whole body. The effects of halotherapy are mainly seen in allergies, asthma, respiratory problems, psoriasis, rheumatism, and skin diseases. We guarantee you, and we can prove it with a certificate, that our cave was built by a professional company. The entire SPA undergoes European certification by EuropeSpa every two years, so it is certainly not a “fake salt hanging from the ceiling.” We pay great attention to staff training, and our team is usually rated as professional and friendly by guests. I am very sorry that you d

We returned to the centrally located Olympic Palace the second year in a row. Very attentive staff in all places - from the reception and medical personal to restaurant waiters and cleaners. Very good room on the 1A floor with a balcony to a quiet green area. Floor heating in the bathroom. Very good breakfast, but dinner was not so good, as in the previous year, after it was changed from the menu to the buffet service. What we specifically liked in the wellness program is the hotel's specialization on the orthopedical problems. For sure will return next year.

I enjoyed the stay very much, the hotel is very nice, clean and relaxing, desk service and SPA stuff are professional and very friendly, breakfast with the wide choice of dishes. You should know that there is an elevation to get to the hotel (for me it's not a problem). I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great time at the hotel. Treatment stay with a full board is recommended. Staff is very attentive to customer requests. Thank you administration for returning buffet option instead of La Carte. Planing to come back this year again for the 5th time.
