Hotel Wellies

Excellent, as expected!

My foreign husband and I visited after seeing a review mentioning the British owner. The beef stew for dinner was absolutely delicious. The staff were also foreigners and spoke both English and Japanese fluently, which made our experience very pleasant.

The hotel is located on a side street, and I was a little worried about driving in the dark when I arrived at night. It's a small English-style inn, and because of the separate wet and dry areas, the sinks and toilets are quite far apart, which is a bit inconvenient. The breakfast was delicious, the staff were helpful, and overall it was a good experience.

I must say, I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, and the entire check-in process was comfortable and relaxing. The room was impeccably clean; having stayed at many hotels of similar quality before, the cleanliness here was truly outstanding, making me feel at ease as soon as I entered. The breakfast was also delicious. Their English breakfast was meticulously prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned. Best of all, I could enjoy the mountain view while eating, which was incredibly soothing for my morning. The hotel also offers a shuttle service, which is a thoughtful touch for travelers. Although I didn't need it this time, I was still very grateful for their initiative. As a single woman staying alone, I had absolutely no safety concerns; the environment was very reassuring. The bed was also very comfortable, and I slept soundly until morning, getting a great rest. Overall, this is a safe, comfortable, and welcoming hotel that I highly recommend.

Environment: The hotel is very cozy. Service: The service is very attentive; they even offer pick-up and drop-off service from Karuizawa Station, which is quite far away. The hotel staff are also very welcoming and speak English and Japanese. Cleanliness: The daily breakfast is exquisitely prepared and clean, a classic English breakfast.
