Jackalberry Chobe

Having purposefully not done a deep dive on any of the places I was going to (didn't want to have any major expectations), the moment we arrived at Jackalberry Chobe was absolutely amazing!!! The greeting of the staff as we arrived, being given a welcome talk by OP was enlightening and I couldn't wait to discover more! The welcome snack and beverage was a lovely touch. To find out that this lodge was mainly staffed and run by women was the tipping point for me! Providing women and single mothers the opportunity to have a career that allows them to provide for their family is so wonderful! Woman empowerment was at the forefront! Then we were brought to our room/tent... just WOW!!!! The view, the attention to detail, the comfort. Every little detail had been thought of! Meals were amazing and plentiful! We got to opportunity to experience some song and dance and even took part! The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. Our driver Jack was very kind, knowledgeable and patient with us! I would return here tomorrow if I could and I STRONGLY RECOMMEND spending time at this amazing amazing place!

An exquisite luxury lodge overlooking the Chobe River. We spent 2 nights and had the best time! Opi and team were incredible with a special shout out to Miss Bee for the gorgeous room and of course Albi who managed to get us up close and personal with lioness and cubs! If you're looking for the full African adventure look no further.

This was our second visit to jackalberry, the first time we were only there for 2 nights and because we loved it so much we wanted a longer stay. Our first afternoon we were getting ready for a safari drive when OP introduced herself. I recognised her then when we mentioned about being there last year she recognised me and gave me the biggest longest hug ever. It was beautiful. Shime was our guide for the week and he was amazing. It was so obvious that he loved the bush and the wildlife. Because we didn’t have a list of animals that we wanted to see and were quite happy just driving around seeing what was out and if anything exciting was happening we would drive over. Also he was so in tune with the animals, he would sit and talk to them in a quiet voice. He also took us to some lovely sites for our morning tea. Back at camp all the staff are very attentive, Spa the chef took time to find out our needs (especially as I don’t eat much and I’m very fussy) . They have cultural nights and the staff sing and dance. OP takes time to explain in English what it’s about. OP also takes time to talk to her guests. I really enjoyed our talks by the fire after dinner. The camp is surrounded by bush land and the river so having your tent by the river is so pretty. We loved our stay so much and are hoping to return sometime. Keep up the good work and OP I hope to see you again to continue our chats by the fire

Two days here just wasn't enough...what a gem of a place in Kasane! OP is a standout as the manager...she is warm and welcoming and fantastic at not only caring for her guest but also doing an amazing job leading her staff! The accommodations are beautiful, the food is amazing and Blackie the bartender was always making us fun drinks! Can not wait to come back and stay longer.

Such a lovely relaxing place to stay Our view onto the Chobe River was awesome, our balcony was looking directly out onto the river. Our Manager - Op was superb, nothing was too much trouble for her, she was very professional, warm & friendly and such a pleasure to see her big wide smile everyday. Our Guide - Jack - He was the man! The sightings were unbelievable, Honey Badger, Sable, the elusive Roan, these were things that I was hoping to see but thought I wouldn't get to see. The very warm & friendly staff, also made our stay there so great. We thoroughly recommend Jackallberry.

Jackalberry is a home away from home. Led by OP & her beautiful team, an awesome lodge, with wonderful service and hospitality! A paradise for my delegation & I during our official meeting in Kasane in Dec 2023.

My teenage son and I had the most amazing experience here. OP and her team spoilt us from the minute we got there. First class facilities, food and the game drives were spectacular. Robert was such an expert that we were able to have spectacular close up wildlife experiences. He kept us safe during a freak storm, and even kept us laughing. Nothing was too much for our hosts. Best trip, new best friends and lots of unique experiences to share. Thank you all.

If you imagine what a thatched lodge in Africa would be like, then Jackalberry with it’s high polled beams and deep thatched roof built on decking looking out over the Chobe river will give you a truly unique and luxurious ‘Out of Africa’ experience. From the moment of our arrival to the last minute of our stay, we were treated like the most important couple staying at this stunning lodge. The staff were all very attentive, kind, polite and thoughtful. We were made to feel like ‘nothing was too much trouble’. Decking lead us from the spacious open plan reception, lounge and dinning area complete with infinity pool, to our large and beautifully furnished tented accommodation with a private decking area where we were able to watch some glorious sunrises and admire the tranquility of the location during our stay. Breakfast was served at a time to suit us and accommodated our morning activity whether that was 5am in time for an early Game Drive or 9:30am for a relaxing morning by the pool. A tasty 3-course Brunch was served on our return from the early morning Game Drives and a High Tea of savouries, fruit and cake was available in the afternoon’s before we embarked on our 2nd Game Drive of the day or a Sunset Cruise on the Chobe river. A candlelight Dinner served for us on the main deck under a starry African sky was a truly romantic experience. All of our game drives and river cruises were provided by Thebe River Safaris ~ Jackalberry’s Sister Company. Our stay at Jackalberry Chobe was truly magnificent. Staying at Jackalberry was an experience my family and I will never forget. We stayed in the beautiful tents and enjoyed a very peaceful few days with our family and the staff. The views from the camp were unbelievable, and the proximity to Chobe was extremely convenient. In addition to the beautiful location, the staff at Jackalberry is what really made our time there so special. Our guide PK taught us so much during our game drives. OP, the manager at Jackalberry, was super friendly and helpful with everything we needed. OP and the rest of the staff were super accommodating and were willing to sing and dance with us in order to celebrate our parents' anniversary. Staying at Jackelberry was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it for everyone who wants to stay in luxurious tents with the friendliest staff. THANK YOU AGAIN!
