A great place to stay in the heart of Thamel. The hotel is full of history and the owner is a delightful person to speak to to hear her story and the hoistory of this iconic place. The staff were very accomodating and very helpful in making our stay ( a group of 14) vey comfortable. The staff were able to point us in the right direction for sights, T-Shirt printing and restaurants although the food was excellent here also. This is a must for any traveller in Kathmandu who appreciates the real family touch. Thank you for your hospitality. Hope to return soon

I have stayed at the Utse many times over the last 40 years or so and cannot recommend it highly enough. The rooms are very clean, the food is excellent and Deki, Ugen, Deepak and all the staff are so kind and helpful - nothing is ever too much trouble. It may not have all the facilities of a higher grade hotel, but who needs fancy shampoo and a trouser press before going trekking or exploring the Kathmandu Valley. It is my home from home when in Kathmandu and I love relaxing on the roof top terrace!!

The Hotel and Restaurant have a long history in the area. We enjoyed getting to know the owners and share stories. The staff is very accommodating. The rooms are clean. The food is fantastic. Good central location for a lot of site seeing destinations.

Hotel Utse was the starting point of our multi-week trip through Nepal. We were able to store our luggage for our different treks here without any problems. The rooms were clean and the food was very tasty. If we travel to Nepal again, we would check in here again.

the rooms all have a view on a wall of a building adjacent to the hotel less than two meters away, others on an internal courtyard and one on the main road where it is impossible to rest due to noise throughout the night. the level of cleanliness is very low. The showers do not have curtains and therefore the bathroom remains slippery and dangerous to use. only one little soap, no shampoo. only one big towel, for all use. no any other for furthermore use or size. No refrigerator in the room. No air conditioning. Stained sheets. high price for such low standards.

Vest choice in Kathmandu, right in Tamel area. Beautiful ******* style. You will feel like at home with ama Dicki. Food is gourgeous also. Don’t miss to spend sometime in the terrace at the top floor!

Situé au coeur de Thamel, l'hôtel Utse, c'est bien plus qu'un hôtel, c'est un lieu familial où l'on se sent bien dès que l'on franchit la porte. Les propriétaires et le personnel sont adorables et attentionnés. gentillesse, sourires, serviabilité, tout est mis en oeuvre pour que l'on s'y sente comme chez soi et c'est bien ce qui nous est arrivé. Nous avons fait trois séjours à l'hôtel Utse au cours de notre voyage au Népal et à chaque passage, nous avions l'impression de retrouver le douillet cocon familial. En prime, le restaurant est excellent et l'on peut y déguster de très bonne spécialités tibétaines. On y reviendra avec beaucoup de plaisir ! Nathalie et Jean-Yves

Hôtel familial créé en 1971 au cœur de Thamel. Tradition tibétaine maintenue par le couple fondateur toujours heureux de vous accueillir dans leur établissement géré maintenant par leurs enfants. Accueil chaleureux, amical dans un décor traditionnel à la tenue impeccable. Restaurant associé de très bon rapport qualité/prix avec une cuisine tibétaine ou newarie. Un séjour simple et chaleureux dans une ambiance familiale. Une adresse où on revient car on y est chez soi.
