I am on the tail end of an 18-night stay at the Lakhey Hotel in Kathmandu, and I can honestly say that it has been WONDERFUL. I've gotten to know many of the staff, and they all are warm, friendly, and gracious. The hotel has only been open for a couple of months, and it is spotlessly clean, kept that way in part by one of the hardest working housekeepers, Sumitra, that I have ever seen. The staff head, Rajesh, and his assistants, Raj Kumar and Ram, who also multitask with cooking, greet me every morning with a warm welcoming. They all will make you feel like you are part of their family. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, off a busy street, and conveniently located near the touristy Thamel area. The rooms are spotlessly clean, modern, rather upscale, but very economical. The hotel does not have a restaurant but provides a GREAT breakfast that is way beyond what they call a ”continental breakfast” that one would get in America. Freshly cooked to each guest, it includes eggs however you like them (I loved the omelet!), freshly cut fruit, veggies, potatoes, toast with butter & jam, juice, & coffee or tea. And there is a restaurant right next door for other meals. I had never stayed at the Lakhey Hotel before, but I can highly recommend it, and I will surely return in the future. Enjoy your stay ... you won't regret it!!!

I lived my life in Canada, USA and Australia. Travelling is my passion. I have been to Nepal several times and visited besides Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Nepalgunj, Surkhet, Dullu etc and obviously have stayed at multiple hotels. In Thamel Kathmandu I have stayed in few very hotels but Hotel Osho is where I felt at home. This is my come back to this hotel for good reasons which is hard to find in Thamel. The location is the best and closest to everything in a quiet street. The hotel is very clean with helpful friendly staff. House keeping is excellent. Perfect terrace to relax comparing to many other hotels. Warm heated reception with first class facilities. Please contact Bishnu and he resembles his given name lord Vishnu, he solves all your problems. A friendliest hotel client representative I have ever met in Nepal. He was so open with pricing and kept his words with no strings attached etc eg tax .He even bought a digital scale to weigh my luggage. The facility does not have a lift service but the staff takes care of the luggage. I strongly advise that don’t waste your time searching just book Osho and try try believe me you will not regret. For sure I will return again as it is my second home when I am in Kathmandu, for this stay of 5 weeks still feels short.

GGuest UserAn unforgettable and warm hotel in every aspect! Clean and the food is great!
Because my family was temporarily ill and admitted to the local hospital, this hotel was only about ten minutes away from the hospital, so I chose this hotel. It is located in a government office area with good security. The hotel is designed in Nepali style. The rooms are very good and tidy. They know that I go to visit the patient every day, and they send a car to take me to the hospital every day. They always check on me and my family, which adds a lot of warmth to the pain of being here with the patient! The quality of the restaurant is also high, and many of the dishes are excellent. It is said that it is also a gathering place for government officials, so it is often full of guests! I stayed here for more than ten days and it was very cost-effective!
--The free airport pick-up is also great
GGuest UserWe had the pleasure of staying at this exceptional hotel for a total of 6 nights, and we couldn't be more thrilled with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff displayed an authentic and warm hospitality that made us feel truly at home. Their genuine friendliness and willingness to assist with every request went above and beyond our expectations.
One of the highlights of our stay was the remarkable cleanliness and tranquility of our room. It was evident that great care was taken to ensure a pristine environment, allowing us to relax and unwind in utmost comfort. The icing on the cake was the superb internet reception, which allowed us to stay connected seamlessly throughout our stay.
Our stay was punctuated by delightful mornings indulging in an exquisite breakfast spread. The puri or chapati and curry quickly became our favorites, perfectly complemented by the aromatic masala tea and the flavorful masala omelette – a true culinary delight!
The hotel's al fresco dining experience was an absolute treat. The ambiance was charming, and the food left an indelible mark on our taste buds. With each meal, we explored a plethora of different dishes, each more tantalizing than the last. It's safe to say that the culinary offerings exceeded our expectations in every way.
A noteworthy mention is the hotel's convenient proximity to Boudha Stupa, a mere 10-minute walk away. This made our visits to the stupa incredibly convenient and allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in its serene atmosphere.
What sets this hotel apart is not only its remarkable amenities and services but also the unique opportunity it offers. The daily free yoga and meditation sessions held within the monastery on the premises are truly transformative. We highly recommend inquiring about the schedule from the attentive hotel staff – it's an experience that added immeasurable value to our stay.
In summary, our time at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of attentive staff, immaculate rooms, delectable cuisine, and the added touch of free yoga and meditation sessions make this hotel a standout choice for anyone seeking a memorable stay near Boudha Stupa. We wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to fellow travelers looking for an unforgettable experience.
Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay truly remarkable – we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to return!
Tip: Indulge in delightful puri & curry breakfast, relish al fresco dining, rejuvenate with free daily yoga. A tranquil oasis near Boudha Stupa.
EExpatI really liked this whole hotel complex.
There’s a mini-mall / restaurant area next to it. Even if not staying there, go to eat and have drinks. There’s a lovely library upstairs, and it is a truly beautiful property amidst the chaos of the street. No noise distractions at all.
The staff were so inviting and I was able to meet my tour guide there since he frequents the dining spots next door. There is just a natural feel of Nepal at these villas, for solo, friends, or couples. Many expat travelers in the city. I did a city tour with Bibi Funyal +977 9851051615 who also works with Future Citizens Nepal. Even though he mainly does mountain treks, he knew all the places within this hotel area to best explore. I hope they collaborate a package for future travels. The staff was very accommodating to helping me understand the cash system, tips, drivers, etc. It rained while there, and this villa is a vacation in its own.
GGuest UserMy wife and I stayed for one night on March 31st. All the staff are friendly and made our stay enjoyable. We ordered several dishes at the attached restaurant and were completely satisfied with every dish. It took a few minutes for the shower hot water to come out, but the staff explained the details in advance so we could enjoy the hot water without worrying. We recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserSuper Hospitality, amazing rooms and a very very positive vibe to the hotel. The hotel is located in a quaint corner of the happening location of Kathmandu - Thamel. What makes the hotel stand out is the extremely positive vibe that it has to it. It is located strategically, where the Thamel main market area and other happening areas are at a small walk, yet.. no traffic noise ever visits your ear when you're inside the rooms. The cherry on the cake is the the hospitality displayed by the staff and specially Mr Pathak is absolutely stupendous and perhaps one of the best ever. A highly recommended place.
GGuest UserFirst of all I would like to thank each of the staff for their wonderful hospitality And especially our hostess Sajana . Sangita and Sabin were very good too. The food at sesame is very very good. Rotis are very good. Daal and fulka were outstanding. Thanks to the whole Sesame team.
DDevKumarIt was really pleasant to stay at the Holiday Hostel, location is really good at the heart of Kathmandu, Thamel. Which is the gateway to all tourist locations in Kathmandu. Walking distance to many attractions. Easy to get transportation also it’s in the thamel market so you can get anything you want. I stayed in Mix dormitory room which is comfortable. Bed and blanket was cozy and warm. Room was pretty clean. WiFi was working fine. I would really recommend this place as your stay during Kathmandu.
GGuest UserNice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve.
Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all.
The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great.
2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges.
Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience.
Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days.
Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern.
Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager.
A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.
CCulture55698396320Works for one night right at the airport. I had flown from London and needed a place to stay at Katmandu Airport until a flight out next morning from the domestic terminal to Lukla. Definitely would recommend as it met my basic needs of being clean, safe, affordable and on airport grounds. They offered an early morning breakfast, but I was not able to take advantage of it because of an early morning flight. Oddly designed glass-enclosed bathroom in the room. Works for one person but could be weird if you're a couple and weirder if you're not related! There's also a step up to get into the bathroom. Restaurants and coffee shops a few doors down past the hotel. 2-minute walk from the international terminal once you exit. Go past all of the taxi people, across the parking lot and that's your hotel building. I walked to the domestic terminal for a very early morning flight, and that took about 10 minutes to get to the terminal. I didn't see any sign of a shuttle bus, but apparently there is one. Efficient check in staff and there is a restaurant in the hotel.
CChristinalvxingdarenBecause I didn't catch the plane, I found a small hotel temporarily in the early morning.
facility:
Although the hotel is small, the hardware facilities are relatively good in Nepal, which is good.
There is air conditioning, hot water and card swipe door locks, which are advanced.
But there is no hair dryer either…
health:
I still saw the hair...
environment:
Room comfortable
Serve:
The breakfast provided is relatively simple (Picture 6 is the breakfast menu)
The service attitude of the staff at night is good, but the service attitude during the day is average.
In the evening, my friend in Kathmandu sent me to the hotel to pick up my luggage and take me to the airport. The hotel staff was even more hospitable.
