I spent 4 wonderful days with my family at Pongwe Beach Hotel at the end of October. We enjoyed everything and really appreciated the intimate atmosphere, the kindness of all the staff, the beauty of the location, the quality of the service and the excellent food. I loved the room, which was an independent unit, with a great view of the beach and sea, tastefully furnished and decorated in swahili style, with very comfortable beds and a large bathroom. We enjoyed a very personal attention form the staff, they organised a lovely celebration for my daughter's birthday and gave us a lot of advice and support about activities to do. We'll definitely go back again and recommend this hotel to our friends. Thank you for a great hospitality!

A fabulous hotel in a perfect location with a stunning well cared for beach. The service and friendliness of the staff was exemplary and totally exceeded our expectations. They were genuine and passionate and made everybody feel welcomed and special. Nothing was too much trouble . We absolutely loved everything about our stay there. Thank you

After a week on safari across northern Tanzania, we decided that we needed a few days of relaxing by the ocean before heading home. We got what we were looking for at Pongwe Beach. We got a spacious and beautiful suite with a small plunge pool just outside on the patio. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and attentive. The menu was broad and changed constantly. During happy hour, there was usually live music, which was fun. Mudi, one of the head waiters, took excellent care of us.

A beautiful resort with fantastic service a stone’s throw from the beach and the warm ocean. Accommodation was lovely and spotlessly clean. Food was delicious and the staff were exceptional throughout. First class service always delivered with a smile. We loved it.

Amazing service, Amazing Views. We had a wonderful stay at Pongwe Beach hotel when things took a bit of a turn for us regarding a bit of a health matter we were blown away by the support, care and help. The hotel is beautiful, the location is amazing the food outstanding quality, the bar a very very happy place to be in. The views are incredible and the rooms comfortable, well equipped and looked after

If you want a holiday 'resort hotel' offering a range of restaurants, swimming areas and a hi tech gym etc this is not for you. If however you want a small, quiet hotel situated in an idyllic location right on the beach along with attentive, friendly staff and excellent food then this is the place. We had a beach front room and a larger suite with two rooms as well as a private plunge pool for the rest of the family. Both were well appointed providing everything that you need. The larger suite appeared slightly newer than the beach front room but that should not detract from the latter which was beautifully finished in a traditional style with wooden floors, bed and furniture and a balcony that opened out directly onto that beach - we loved it ! As highlighted above the staff were outstanding. Always smiling and pleased to see you nothing was too much trouble. They were superb. The food was excellent with a range of options for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. We can't recommend Pongwe Beach Hotel highly enough.

A perfect gem of a place. We could not fault this hotel. We found the food amazing, every meal was delicious. The chefs went out of their way to provide a variety of gluten free options. All of the staff were so helpful, kind, happy and could not do enough for us. We loved the location, the beach is idyllic, interesting tide changes. Great pool.

The resort was beautiful, my room was so clean and well thought out and the staff were so incredibly good. The cooling system on the bed was a nice surprise and made it so I was never uncomfortable. And the little extra touches like plenty of water in the room, having beach bags, beach towels, robes, hats and even the option of water shoes was above an beyond. I loved the tranquility of the grounds. My stay was not long enough to have used all of the amenties but If I ever find myself in that part of the world again I would definitely come back.
