Outstanding 5 days at this hotel. I can’t fault anything. Location, dining, spa, cleanliness all top notch. However the stand out level of excellence was the staff! From reception, bar staff, restaurant servers, housekeeping, maintenance all so friendly and professional. Milly our “wee little” server for dinner was a superstar! Eoin who helped us attempt archery was such a kind and lovely man. We had the best time here and will definitely return! Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special.

Had a lovely 1 night stay in January. Our room was very new and beautifully decorated. It was quiet and we didn’t hear anyone during our stay. The pool and spa area are just beautiful. Such a relaxing space! The breakfast was good and a nice selection for fruit/granolas etc. I also came here in 2022 for an afternoon tea for my Mums birthday and it was really quite fabulous. The sitting room was very comfortable and the GF options were amazing. Thanks so much!

Just spent three nights here with my wife. We stayed in an estate king room which was well styled, had a fantastic view, spacious and super clean. Everything about the room was absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful inside and outside and the bars are really nice and well priced. We tried the spa a few times (guests get all day access without pre booking with is a great feature for being more flexible for guests most hotels don't do, so I hope this doesn't change) and it is really nice with the outside pool and hot tub and plenty of indoor place to lounge (only minor downside was the hot tub wasn't working for two days we were there and there was only one). The included breakfast was fantastic - so much choice and many items you can order from the kitchen (the waffle, pancakes and omelettes were particularly amazing). The service was also something else, so efficient and attentive, you never had a dirty plate on your table for longer than about 30 seconds. In fact, all the staff from arrival to leaving, from the front desk, breakfast and spa staff to the cleaners are all 5 star, so polite, friendly and professional. Overall, we have stayed in 5 star hotels before but as a whole package this was definitely the best we have been to and can't wait to come back. The breakfast

My wife and I had a fantastic stay here (Thursday - Saturday). The rooms in the new part of the hotel are well-styled and comfortable with a luxury feel. We had a great meal in Sunlaws which was really made by the attitude and attentiveness of the guy running service (I can't quite remember his name unfortunately). He quickly dispelled any myths we had about this "fine dining" experience being stuffy by happily accommodating our requests to swap out bits of the tasting-menu to cater for my wife being pescatarian and for my love of steak tartare...We also ate in Charlies which was good – one of our dishes was served cold (these things happen) and whilst we are never ones to kick up a fuss, I did mention it and it was swiftly removed from our bill before we could say any more which turned what could have been a sour note into a positive one. One point to note on food and drink – whilst I was delightfully surprised by the price of a pint of beer for a luxury hotel like this (£5.50), the cocktails did seem eye-wateringly expensive. The spa was a highlight. We spent a good couple of days relaxing in the pool, sauna and jacuzzi, even braving the plunge pool a couple of times! Would highly recommend.

Great location, the facilities were excellent, the staff very helpful. Charlies Restaurant was good for evening meal and the breakfast, however I wish they had kippers.

Almost Excellent but the beds are worn out. The buildings and facilities are very good, the staff are excellent and go above what I expected, The spa entrance and check in is too dark and this needs attention for health and safety but the spa and pool are excellent. The golf was very good and the weather was kind. on the first night, thee bed was most uncomfortable and and had collapsed in the middle and needed immediate replacement. I was moved to a new cottage the second night and the bed was better but still far from comfortable.

This hotel is charging excessively higher than the service it is providing. £588 per night B&B room too small to enable opening wardrobe doors fully ! Served flat champagne. Buffet breakfast means soggy Luke warm food. Pool, sauna and steam room far too small for volume of customers. Such a big disappointment - we were totally misled what to expect by the website and price.
