I thought the place was nice, but to be honest the blankets on the bed and in the cupboard annoyed me with static electricity. The shower water came out way too fast. But everything else was great and the people are very nice.

Room 255 Bad side 1. No Aircon 2. Smells strong detergent/disinfectant, couldn't sleep 3. DSTv not working, 2ppl came to help, no success, promised to come back, never did 4. Breakfast, just OK 5. Staff, poor service, no customer engagement, shuttle drivers not even willing to chat to clients 6. Old furniture Good side 1. Best place near airport

FANTASTIC experience right from the moment I checked in. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, and even drove me to a shop nearby when I needed a SIM card. The property itself is PERFECT if you need a few days to relax and unwind after a stressful series of flights! The garden is lovingly manicured and even has a pool, which was a nice surprise. They also have a FREE shuttle service from and to the airport as long as you let them know when you need it. The hotel is only 5 minutes drive from O.R. Tambo airport too, so don't get scammed (like I did) by the airport taxis (they charged me 250 rand for a 5 minute drive!). The hotel has its own kitchen and menu and will deliver meals to your door, and they also have a small shop with toiletries, etc. which came in handy. WiFi is good too, even for video (definitely better than the airport's!😅). So, next time you're heading to Johannesburg, definitely book Emerald Hotel. Now I just wish I had booked 5 days instead of one! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I advise you to choose this hotel exclusively for transfers. Yes, convenient transfer from the airport and to. The bad thing is that there is an industrial zone around and not a single store. If you arrive late in the evening, the only option is to eat in a restaurant if they agree to cook for you. After checking out of your room, you can stay on site until departure. There is a small garden and a swimming pool on site

Business trip booking, not bad

This is our second time staying at this hotel, and we feel the same as the first time, quite satisfied. Free shuttle bus to and from the airport, free breakfast, clean room, only a few minutes away from the airport, attentive and enthusiastic service (especially the driver who drives a minibus), low accommodation price, one of the most affordable hotels. If you are only transiting for the night and don’t want to spend too much, this hotel is an ideal choice.
