Super 8 by Wyndham Kenora

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Super 8 in Kenora. When we entered the lot, there were two positive messages on both sides(Thank you for being you) which was cute. The location is excellent on Lake of the Woods and close to walking trails. I found the room to be quite cozy and clean. Overall we both loved our stay and would definitely return.
Clarion Lakeside Inn & Conference Centre

I stayed at the Clarion for 2 nights on business. The room was clean and amenities were satisfactory. The service in the restaurant was excellent and the food delicious. I highly recommend this hotel. When compared to other Kenora hotels this place offers better than expected cleanliness, services and amenities. Highly recommend as a business hotel.

This was my first stay at this location after using several other hotels in Kenora. The room was fine aside from the fact the cleaning of the room was not done well as dirt was still on the carpet and the mini-fridge/freezer was not cold when I got there. But what got me giving them a poor rating is the fact I paid for a room with breakfast and when I asked upon checking in when breakfast would be, I then was told there would be no breakfast as they ran out of supplies. I made it clear this was unsatisfactory but the guy working the counter told me he would call me to let me know what can be done and never did. There was no breakfast in the morning when this was one of the reasons I had booked this hotel as I was going to be out all day and needed a good breakfast before heading out. As well, if I had known there was no breakfast, I would have booked elsewhere for cheaper not including a breakfast. There was another couple checking out at the same time as me and they were pretty upset for the same reason.
Lake-Vu Motel

Step back into the 60's in this slightly divy motel fresh out of an old movie. The decor is standard hotel quality from the era, (1960) with a modern t.v that only gets one french channel, As back in the 60's, cleanliness is not a paramount concern, neither is AC, the standard shower is 2'x2', but works fine. On the good side, the restaurant in the gas station is very good,as is the location. The management was trying to be helpful. Left a $100. CASH deposit, returned on check out, not exactly sure what the purpose was as nobody looked I the room to ensure it was in order. Hey, it's cheap and dry..

Rooms are filthy and disgusting. Nothing like pics. In a bad area and surrounded by substance abusers. Windows did not lock, carpet so dirty I didn't want to walk on it without shoes on. A substance abuser and her ”boyfriend” fought in room next door banging walls and storming up/down hallway. Then the substance abuser pulled the fire alarm and building had to evacuate. When we called desk they said they were ”evaluating the situation” and it was our fault for not calling them - not their fault for not watching security cameras. Had to go to front desk and yell at clerk to call police as he didn't when we called on the phone. We were then told to go back to our room not knowing if the couple that was violently fighting had actually started a fire or not When I told manager that I wanted $ for all this disturbance and inaction by employee and had no sleep and the filthy state of the rooms ... I was only offered $20 dollars and told they didn't have to speak with Fire Dept. or Police when they came as they ”know them”: meaning they are there often . STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRAVELODGE Please especially if you have children..... it's outrageously dirty and scary. I've attached pics of the syringes and condoms that are just behind the parking lot. I also attached a copy of their door instructions. Which pretty much shows you what they expect to happen during your stay.
