Barton Hall Hotel & Spa

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Garden Spa today. From the minute we arrived the spa receptionists we're so accommodating and pleasant. Then the facial with Suzanna was unreal. The best facial I've ever had. I'll definitely be back again ☺️

The positives: - Room is really spacious! We had a double and it was much bigger than most hotels. Lovely bath and shower, great mirrors, nice desk and additional seating area, comfy bed. Can’t fault the room! - Food very tasty in the restaurant! - Beautiful building and grounds. - George in the restaurant was very friendly and was great. April in the spa was really nice too and extremely willing to help. - Spa area is great and the big outdoor jacuzzi is perfect! The negatives: - Charging £11 for one cocktail when they use pre mixed ingredients is beyond cheeky. My friend ordered a martini and they simply used a pre mixed carton and vodka! I cringed. - I asked for a margarita but they weren’t allowed to go off menu. The cocktail choice was poor. - The wine glasses used are awful. Ordered a £10 wine in a lovely restaurant with lovely food, only to be handed the worst looking, basic, small wine glass. It did not compliment the wine at all. They need to invest! - The bar says it closes at 11pm (and we were told this) but we were refused another drink at 10:45pm on the basis the bar had now closed. After investigation they did come back around 15/20 mins later to offer to get the drink for us but it was too late by then as we were heading back to our room. - The lamb dish was pretty small for the price. More than one carrot would have been nice. The desserts are massively overpriced (£11 for a brownie) so we didn’t bother. These little ******* let it down but because the hotel and room and spa were so nice, especially for the price we paid for a weekend stay (£100 a night which I think is very reasonable) I still gave 4 stars (I was in two minds whether to give 3 stars). But based on this reasoning, 4 seemed more fitting.

Visited Barton Hall to celebrate a friend's birthday. We went for Garden Spa morning session followed by afternoon tea. We arrived early and were welcomed by friendy, professional staff in the Garden Spa who informed us we could go for a coffee in main Hall and wait. Went back to Spa at 9am, were shown all the facilities and told everything we needed to know. After a relaxing, chilled morning we had a delicious afternoon tea. Thoroughly enjoyed it all and looking forward to our next Spa visit. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Amazing experience, staff were really friendly in particular Joanne who was serving all day she was amazing, very friendly, kind and helpful. She made our experience fantastic in the hotel & spa. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the venue.

I stayed for 3 nights, the bed was comfy, room very clean, 3hours use of the spa included was a nice touch. The portions in the restaurant are huge, food at dinner is lovely. Staff are very attentive in the restaurant. The water in the room and toiletries were nice. The breakfast could have been better - on the menu it had 4 juices, but only 2 were available, fresh fruit was missing one morning, think the hot food should have been cooked to order. I was asked if I wanted my room cleaned during my stay - I said yes but this only happened on one night not the second full day of my stay. The fan in the room was not enough to keep it cool in the heat and due to it being a ground floor room with a window that could have been opened from outside had I opened it a little I could not have it open at night. Overall a nice stay but room for improvement.

Have stayed here a few times. This time on a warm summers day. Room in the eaves was big and, like other rooms stayed in, had a big free standing bath and separate shower. Comfy bed but uncomfortable night as the room fan could not cope with the heat. Personally think breakfast lets this place down with no menu or offer to make anything fresh and therefore a limited buffet served on small plates (not much bigger than side plates). Also front of house staff are a bit lukewarm. On the plus side 8 brand new Tesla charging points for all vehicle types are now in the grounds of the hotel.

We had an amazing afternoon package experience. The welcome we received from reception when we arrived was friendly and polite. Throughout our visit Jo on reception was so attentive and a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be back soon.

We got married at Barton Hall on 23rd March and I cannot recommend it enough. The lead up to our wedding and the meetings before hand were great, the team listened to what we wanted on our special day and helped make it a reality. The venue is absolutely stunning (even in the rain and hail we had!), the food and staff were impeccable - served hot and all served at the same time! No one was waiting for their dinner. All guests with allergies were well catered for and never felt they missed out. The rooms were beautiful and breakfast was amazing. We stayed in two rooms for the wedding and both were large, huge baths and comfortable beds. All our guests said how beautiful it was and how amazing the venue was. The garden spa is a lovely addition to the hotel and provides a lovely place to unwind, a few of our wedding party had treatments and said they would recommend these. The only thing I would say is a downside is the hotel is always hot.. so be prepared for this! Although they did turn the heating off in the Charles Suite for our wedding when requested.

Lovely place to stay with helpful staff and good food.
