The best choice for Dongkong Island. The hotel is right under the old bridge. The location is excellent. You can walk up to the bridge to watch the sunrise and sunset.
The breakfast was good, and the riverside dinner in the restaurant was refreshing.

Rainy season on Don Khone has been fantastic for us. Everyday the sun has shone and by late afternoon when a rest was needed the occasional storm arrived to drench the brilliant deep greens of the rice fields and tropical jungle countryside. Our 6 days staying at Sengahloune Resort passed too quickly. A wonderfully large room with large bay windows and a daybed overlooking the Mekong River as it rushed by. A king bed with crisp white linen, an enormous bathroom with both a bath and a separate shower area. Exceptional staff made our stay a joy. The pool was great for a cool down after long walks. We very happily recommend Sengahloune Resort.

Hôtel sans luxe apparent mais vous y trouverez tout le confort. Accueil chaleureux tant par les patrons que toute la famille. Nous avions une chambre spacieuse avec accès aux berges de la rivière d'un côté et à la piscine de l'autre côté. Grande chambre, bonne literie, TV, plateau de courtoisie, wifi (pas toujours optimal). Très bon restaurant, bon petit déjeuner hormis la baguette.

Hotel supposedly renovated last year! Already outdated dark old furniture. The safe did not work, neither did the fan and there was a leak in the sink drain. Reported but without solution? Average breakfast jam and industrial tea and only salted butter. The milk had a funny taste maybe from the added water. The swimming pool is beautiful but that's not everything.

Terwijl ik voor mijn bungalow zat werd ik opgeschrikt door lichtflitsen uit de rivier. Ik schrok want ik heb een oogkwaal die ook tot lichtflitsen kan leiden, maar het bleek een Franse cameraploeg in de rivier te zijn. Die had geen toestemming mij te fotograferen. Management van het hotel sprak te weinig Engels voor overleg. Uiteindelijk vertrok ik voortijdig.

Nice location next to the old bridge on Don Khon. Staff where very friendly and helpful. Nice room with riverview and balcony (new building), well equiped with all you need. The beds are a bit hard, but that's typical in this part of the world. The "main street" with lots of restaurants and shops is nearby, all you need in easy walking distance. Transport to Pakxe with pick up at the hotel can be arranged. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.
