The hotel has warm service, the rooms are clean and tidy, and you can see many animals walking by from time to time on the golf course and public areas of the hotel. It is also a good experience to swing at the equatorial golf course.

Excellent location and service, physical activities available like nature walk, tennis, golf, good and varied food. We went there for wirk retreat and the commodities were great for work and leisure as well. Amicable team always available. Great place to reenergize!

They are comfortable . So friendly. The rooms are well se and the mechanisms available to ensure that the effects of the weather don't affect the clients are good. The heating of the swimming pool makes it so easy to swim even in the coldest weather.

Having stayed here in 2012 we really wanted to come back and did so for three nights. We arrived at just before mid-day so the reception was quiet. We were taken to the outside seating area for the check in and a briefing on the hotel. The entrance is at a right angle to the main building so directions in this are as if you have gone through the reception and turned right 90 degrees. Given our early arrival (check in is normally from 14.00) the room was understandably not quite ready so we were shown to the bar’s outside seating area for a drink but it was not long before our room was ready. We had a suite which was on the first floor of the main building. It had a balcony with views across the grounds, to Mount Kenya and the Mount Kenya National Park. The room had all you would expect with the addition of the option to have an open fire in the evening to warm the room, plus hot water bottles. Given the temperature we are used to as home these options were not needed. We had a charge for room service when ordering drinks only, this we were told would not apply if food was ordered. Other rooms are in blocks to the left of the main building. I think there are covered walkways back to the main hotel although I noticed quite a few people walked between the hotel and the pool area to get to the restaurant. There are also a line of cottages to the right of the main hotel swinging around in an arc and down and to the left are the Riverside cottages. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant, which is at the left-hand end of the main building and is normally buffet style, with a chef to do your eggs however you want them. Clearly at busy times you may have to wait for the latter, although we had one early start and the chef brought them to our table. Lunch is served in the same place, whether it is a menu or buffet will depend on hotel occupancy levels. The same location is for dinner and the same applied, although with safari parties often arriving late afternoon there are more a lot more in for dinner than lunch. There is a glass enclosed seating area at the front of the restaurant which when hot can be opened up. Also portable heaters are available if they are needed in the evening. We found all the food very good and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The buffet choice is huge and should cater for all tastes and requirements. The Zebar next to the restaurant and in the center of the main building, drinks and snacks, this has an open-air seating area with sun shades, although staff may lower these if it is too windy. From observations items from the lunch menu are also served here. Staff from the Zebar also serve in the pool area, which is in front of the main hotel. Another dining option is the Colobus Restaurant, this is open Thursday to Sunday and needs to be booked. This is very much menu only and what some may call a fine dining experience. Our 2 week stay was amazing. So much to see and do on site. The Safari and Forest walk trips were extremely good. Our guide Francis was so knowledgable and we learnt so much from him. The Golf course caddies Richard and Mohene helped us immensely to improve our golfing techniques. Swimming, Croquet, Tennis, E bikes.. the list of things to do is endless. We were half board, Breakfast and Evening meal selections were the best we have ever seen at any hotel, so much choice of cuisine, to a very high standard. So 10 out of 10 to the whole Hotel Team… we will be back !

Phenomenal property and infrastructure and great hospitality. A must for a family The activities are great from archery to animal orphanage to swimming to golf are extremely engaging. The staff are extremely friendly and supportive and the food was very nice

Enjoyed a wonderful vacation with multigenerational family. Stunning views, facilities impeccably maintained, excellent service and food. The grounds gorgeous and staff so well informed. Everyone eager to help and share knowledge. Only complaint rooms were warm.

Brilliant service and beautiful stay, with solid amenities. Shoutout to Elizabeth who made our time wonderful and was full of warmth and efficiency. James was also great at being in charge of the animal orphanage and helping so many lives improve.

Beautiful property and amazing service. The food was lovely and the drinks were great. Alot of activities to do in the property that you don’t feel like leaving. Everyone is so friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious with alot of amenities.

Amazing hotel, beautiful location and views all around. Lots of birds floating around. Food was excellent in each meal. Drinks top notch including cocktails, juices and coffee. Staff - welcoming and extremely service oriented. Paul was delightful as was Benson and Mourine. Spa was great, loved my services. Lots of activities on site. Fire pits were great and fires in rooms at night along with hot water bottles was so inviting. Hotel decor is elegant and tasteful. Highly recommend. Only regret is we are not staying longer. Would come back here in a heart beat!

The stay was amazing. Excellent service was great thanks to Emma, Dorcas, Egesa, Godfrey and Evans made us all feel special. The game drive and Breakfast with Bongo made the stay worth it. Thank you to the amazing Kamata, if you want a guide he is the best very knowledgeable and ever smiling.

An amazing place and experience, so much to do, my daughter loved the wildlife orphanage and we even played golf on the grounds! The service was fantastic as well, friendly and extremely helpful. We also loved the morning bird watching and the maze. The climax was the dinner party in the bush….so fun!
