Stayed for one night while visiting Athens. Handy to get the train into Central Athens, about 10 minutes walk to Kafissia Station (uphill most of the way). Rooms very basic but clean. Air con in the rooms which was a bonus. Staff weren't very welcoming or friendly so glad it was just the one night. Wouldn't go back.

I am a former Vice Consul who is currently heavily disabled and I live in Tolo-Argolida with my partner who needed urgent medical attention at the KAT Hospital in Kifissia. Not knowing the hotels in Kifissia, I happened to call the Pines. It was confirmed to me that it had easy access to the said hospital, so believing the member of staff I went ahead and booked the hotel. At no point during our conversation was I told that this is a couples hotel as I would never have accepted to book. We got there at 01.35 tired and nervous about our hospital visit, but we went off immediately to get some lunch On our return to the hotel at 15.10 we had decided to take a short rest so I asked the reception staff to wake us up with coffee at 15.45 so that we don't miss our very important hospital appointment. Thankfully, though I hadn't fallen asleep as I was very disturbed after turning on the TV in order to relax our minds by watching the daily news but instead finding two hard core porn channels back to back... at this point I switched off the TV and awaited for the coffee. When at 15.50 it still hadn't arrived, I called reception to ask what had happened, only to be told that he would send some coffee up to us immediately. After 15 minutes though and as we had to urgently leave in order not to miss our appointment at the Hospital, the bar staff knocked the door carrying two cups of coffee. However, as we were already running late we did not have any time to waste so, after I told the bar staff that he was too late, we rushed off to the hospital. What shocked me most of all is that the reception staff called to complain. I can't believe the audacity of it. Instead of apologising he appeared angry! Can you believe it? An 180 kilometres journey for a hospital appointment that we nearly missed simply because of their inefficiency!!! At this point I need to stress to other prospective customers that the Pines Hotel, in my view is 100% a ”couples” hotel! I find it very unfair that they do not warn customers before their arrival!!!

The hotel is well lush and cozy, we were so into it that we decided to stay an extra night :)
The pool's a bit on the small side, but it's chill vibes, and the view, especially at night, is pretty awesome. We would definitely consider returning for another stay and recommending it to friends.

Minus: The toothbrush holder looked very dirty, I would probably give it a deep clean. There were some signs of mold in the shower and the toilet paper holder was loose from the wall. The rain shower head lived a life of its own, very inconsistent with how the water came out, it also took time for the water to warm up. If you care about noise, don't get a room with a street view, the windows really weren't soundproof at all. The location is a bit sketchy at night. I would also recommend the hotel to advertise to people not to waste food at the breakfast buffet because there was A LOT of it by others when we were there. This is a big thing for hotels in the north. Pros: The room looked quite newly renovated. Seems like the hotel was under renovation because when we were there it was a completely different style from the breakfast room to the room. It's probably going to be very pretty when it's finished. Plus for the minibar and kettle in the room. Plus for a separate toilet room and shower room. Great view from the balcony in the room and from the roof terrace. Great, down to earth staff. Also a very good breakfast, I have stayed in many different hotels and this is one of the best breakfasts in Europe for me.

Stayed for 5 nights, the location is perfect as there is a metro station right outside the hotel, which will take you to most of the major tourist sites. The hop on hop off bus stops right outside the hotel also, so if you are a tourist it's easy to get around from the hotel. As four ladies alone, we felt very safe and would get taxi's to and from hotel to go out in the evenings, which the helpful staff are happy to book for you. The breakfast is brilliant with lots of choices so you never get bored. We stayed in a standard room which was small but perfectly formed, with lovely decor and all the amenities you will need. The best thing about this hotel is the amazing rooftop pool, bar and restaurant. Our taxi driver from the airport told us it was amazing and many locals will go there particularly at the weekends. Staff are so friendly especially Denisa our lovely waitress, food and drinks are varied and very nice. I would stay here again if I'm coming to Athens.

Stayed in a 6 bed hostel room. Bunk was comfortable. Nice large lock boxes. Good lighting and electric outlets with each bunk. Good curtains for privacy and lighting. Staff was really helpful and welcoming. Nice cafe on street level. Bathrooms were clean and kitchen on 1st floor was nice and coffee and tea were available. Great location in a Athens. Right where you want to be for quick access to attractions, transportation, restaurants and nightlife. Yes staying in a shared room can get noisy when people come in after a night out, but that’s hostel life. In any case bed was comfortable and I slept well. Would stay there again.

First the hostel was not as good as it was the years before, because of the prices, they were much higher. But then I met Johny at the reception, we were talking the 1st evening for 2 hours for everything. Next evening I was at the bar with Johny, Martin, Walther and Ami. The reason to come here is Johny, Martin, Walther and Ami.

We have stayed here before and were due to return two years ago but Covid happened. When we cancelled, we were told that our payment would be kept on hold until our next visit and they were as good as their word. Avra operates an efficient shuttle service to and from Athens airport which makes the transfer so much easier. Upon arrival we were offered complimentary soft drinks - so very welcome in the heat! Our en suite room with sea views was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. Room service was also very prompt. In the morning we enjoyed our self-service bountiful breakfast. The restaurant staff and the ladies at reception were professional, helpful and very pleasant. Coupled with the fact that the ferry is a very short walk away, for us this is our hotel of choice in Rafina.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe hotel is situated in a quiet road in the lovely district of Kifissia. For those visiting Sthens, Kifissia is a great area to stay in albeit out of the centre which for us is perfect. The staff are super helpful and friendly, nothing appears to be too much trouble. We had a small issue with the bathroom in our first room which neccistated a room change and that was to an upgraded suite, wonderful! Breakfast is more than adequate. If we visit Athens again it will be to The Y Hotel for sure.
GGuest UserJust finished our trip in Greece. We stayed in Kifissia, in this beautiful and lovely hotel. Everyone was always kind and helpful from the start to the finish. Both my husband and my kids loved it. Reception was always smiling and answering our questions without a doubt.Panagiotis and Marita, lovely people. Restaurant was magnificent and the food/drinks were lovely. We spend most of our time with Giannis and Konstantina on the afternoon . Both of them were always very kind and quick to our needs and orders, even though their plate was always full with people. They give the restaurant what it needs. We also spent a little time with another waiter, I believe his name was Stavros or something similar. He was the opposite of what the previous waiters were and that kind of ruined our experience in the restaurant. He was also rude sometimes both to us and his fellow coworkers. The housekeeping ladies were full of love and kindness and our rooms were always clean. Overall 4.9/5 experience. We will sure return again.
GGuest UserThis hotel is brand new and is currently under building renovation as I understood + they are building new pool and restaurant with bar. This makes a lot of noise and this is the only negative thing I can say. Because: The rooms are really new, fresh and beautiful.I had a room with small balcony.Extremely comfy bed, beautiful bathroom.Nespresso with complimentary coffee, full mini bar. The staff was very helpfull and extremely nice, they will manage everything you need. Breakfast are small but it is enough,be sure to try their home made cheese pie and pepper pie.Perfect! The area is also very nice,it is next to park and great restaurants and shopping area. I will be definitely back when the renovation will be done.It is really very nice boutique hotel with high quality.
GGuest UserWe recently spent 3 nights at the Athens Life hotel. It is about a 30 min drive from central Athens and there are plenty of parking spaces right outside the hotel. We were given a warm welcome at Reception and our bags were taken to our room. The welcome note and marzipan were a lovely touch. Our room on the 3rd floor was large, clean and very well equipped. We found the low bed and surrounding ledge quite difficult to get in and out of, so do be mindful of this if you have a bad back etc. Some of the furniture/decor is a little tired, but it didn’t take anything away from our stay, especially given the reasonable price of the room. The air conditioning and WiFi were excellent. Our favourite part of the room was the balcony with stunning views over the mountains. We could have sat on it all day! We had a meal and cocktail in the restaurant, plus room service a couple of times and the food and service was fantastic. The hotel is incredibly peaceful and serene and definitely the place if you want to unwind. We barely saw any other guests our entire stay! A very enjoyable stay!
GGuest UserThe Kefalari is located in a very nice neighborhood with cute shops and nice restaurants. They offered us a breakfast box due to no restaurants serving breakfast in the neighborhood. We had to leave at 2:30 am for a flight, so missed out on that but they had Nespresso pods available as well as water. The rooms are beautiful and have great amenities but the carpet needs replacing. I believe they are in the midst of renovations. There is a small elevator and also cookies, coffee and bottled water in the lobby.
GGuest UserThis hotel is in the Kifissia area of northern Athens, surrounded by the rich area of Athens, the living facilities are more convenient, the supermarket is downstairs, and the hotel is 50 meters around, but the taste is average for the Chinese. Hotel facilities are the domestic express hotel grade. If the budget is limited and the luxury is not pursued, this hotel is still good, and the basic supplies are available. Foreign hotels do not have toothpaste and toothbrushes, and prepare them when you come. The hotel staff is not bad, can't say enthusiasm, but you open your mouth, still willing to help you, English communication is no problem. Don't come here if you don't have money, it's a bit far from the airport.
Let’s go in order: - Completely absent attention to the client. Staff is unprepared and bothered by anything you might ask them. - The carpets in the halls were filthy with multiple stains - The room was not clean, I found multiple hair on the chair close to the desk and on the towels in the bathroom as well as dust all around the room - I checked the bed and it was not dirty thankfully. Nevertheless it was incredibly uncomfortable and I could feel all the metal springs - I went to breakfast the first morning and the service was completely absent, no one greeted me in any way or asked what I wanted to drink for example (there are no coffee machines to make a cappuccino/tea/espresso/etc on your own so I would expect that someone asks me) - On the second day I went again for breakfast and took an orange juice from the dispenser; I saw something dark floating in the dispenser, but did not pay attention to it until I noticed it in my glass and took a closer look - it was a worm (!!!). I told the waitress and she came back to me sayin that it was a dark piece of apple (…) - I left it there because I did not want to discuss, but please check the pictures and let me know. Also, it was orange juice so not sure how the apple thingy ended up there. Overall I have no idea how they got 5 stars, but this place should just close. Everything about it was unacceptable and unprofessional. Do yourself a favour and never go to this place.
BBently2012The hotel was exactly what was expected and what I wanted. The staff were all excellent in service and hospitality as I would expect from a family run business. The hotel is in a quiet area but still near enough to access the main road to Athens/Thessalonika, and to Kiffissia and was very clean . The hotel organised taxis efficiently. The breakfast was a continental mixture and was consistent and very good. The internet was very good too in the room I was in and in the public areas. Disliked · I didn't expect a five star palace. I expected what I booked. I am not a tiny person and found the shower a little small, but it worked fine and was spotless when I came back.
