Excellent experience in an historic location. Accomodation availability is limted due to the nature of castle accomodation, but presented well. Recommend advanace accomodation and dinner reservations booking to stay in the castle itself. Absolutely recommend the Falconry experience given by local expert Bernard. Wholeheartedly recommend to all.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kilkea Castle last week, just for one night during our driving tour of Ireland. We arrived early around lunchtime expecting our room not to be ready, we received a warm welcome and were delighted to be told that our room was ready. There was some confusion over our dinner reservation for the evening, but this was resolved swiftly. The room was beautifully decorated though is on the small side, however this did not bother us at all. The bed was comfy and the ensuite was nice with a good shower. After dropping our bags in our room, we had a walk around the grounds and popped into the bistro at the golf club for a lovely lunch and a pint overlooking the grounds and golf course. In the evening, we had a couple of drinks in the lovely bar, the barman was really friendly and attentive. We then had dinner at 1180 which is their fine dining restaurant, this was great. The staff again were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. It's not cheap but was a lovely experience that we would recommend. Breakfast the next day is served in the same restaurant with lots of good options which we enjoyed. Overall, we loved our stay at this hotel and can't wait to come back!

Beautiful property. We really enjoyed our stay. The food was very good. Great staff. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. The cleaning staff does a great job keeping the public spaces and rooms very clean. Only minor issue is that the carpet on stairs has large stains and couple furniture items should be replaced. Overall highly recommend.

We brought 54 members of our family for a 3 day wedding celebration at The Kilkea Castle. It took months of planning and Michaela Doyle was there every step of the way. She made our event incredibly easy to navigate from the states and right through the amazing wedding day event. We could not recommend Kilkea Castle any higher as a destination wedding. From the front desk staff, the restaurant servers and bar tenders, the Gentleman(sorry I forgot his name) who stayed with us right through the wedding night. INCREDIBLE!! Thank you Kilkea Castle for such a life long memory for us and our families. Michaela, you are a rock star and the entire staff is the best. See you for our honeymoon!

As requested by the manager feedback on out stay May 18th / 2024 Location : 8 out of 10 Restaurants : 8 out of 10 Food : 9 out of 10 Room : 4 out of 10 Only one lounge chair and no table. No refrigerator. Toilet/ shower : 2 out of 10 Lightning total poor …. Shaving was impossible The shower was disgusting, black mould around the bottom was totally acceptable in this day and age. Tiled floor needs a good cleaning, grout was disgusting. See picture attached inside the shower

This hotel was a treat. The decor is smashing. It feels like it is an old castle and yet the furniture and details are modern and new. They have nailed the balance between old world and new. Our room was in the carriage house and we loved our room with its unique charm. We also had a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant one evening for our big group of 8 and the chef came out to say hello. We were so pleased with our stay there.

Rudest bunch of staff I came across in a long time. Came here with my friend and my 6 months old son for a walk around the castle. We went to the hotel bar to get a coffee. When arrived at the bar there was no one there. Waited for about 5 minutes and there was still no sign of anyone. My friend went around to front desk asking if someone can come over to serve us a coffee, was told someone will be there in a minute. Were waiting for another 15 minutes. During this time a number of staff came into the bar, looked at us and walked away. One of them even opened the door to the back garden but pretended he never saw us?not even a word to say someone will be with you in a minute or are you’s being looked after. Eventually someone came around to make us coffees. Although the girl who was making the coffee looked unbothered and as if she’s doing us a favor? To top it off, another staff came in and was filling his ice container at the bar, by filling I mean throwing the ice from the bucket into the container. The noise was so loud that both of our babies got a fright. He did this 3 times. Management seriously need to give their staff training!!! To ask would I come back? No, never!!! Would I book a night stay in the hotel after such experience? Not a hope!

For everyone who comes after, and from afar. Do not agree to stay in The Lodges. Check in was less than memorable - made to feel like checking in is a bother. When we arrived at our room, it is not at all what was advertised. First impression a glorified Motel 6 ! Hoping that dinner at the castle this evening will be a better experience.
