Exceptional staff, accommodation, dining and bar. Such a gracious and professional staff. Ambiance is wonderful in setting the Kilkenny-tone: calm, historic, good humored. Top-end dining with local, fresh, chef specialties. In heart of old city but quiet.

The history of the hotel is much appreciated but the age condition of our room was not acceptable for the price. The hotel needs significant investment.

Hotel is great and the staff are lovely. The food was terrible. Their cure meats and cheese plate consisted of 2 pieces of ham and chicken which were both from the dinner service the night before. Dried out cheese and was inedible.

Pass on this property nothing good. Cut up old buildings with outdated furniture thin walls steps up down long hallsways. Map to parking is a joke, terrible experience

I was nervous about this place based on some of the reviews but we thought it was delightful. Yes, it is different from a standard US hotel. Yes, it is a very old building with a lot of steps and confusing hallways. But it was clean and roomy and had everything we needed. And the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great being able to walk out the front door and explore Kilkenny.

We booked the deluxe room and while the size was great the bathrooms were outdated. The location was fabulous for walking everywhere. The private parking was great! We loved our breakfast and the attached pub/restaurant. We loved starting and ending our night here daily! Note, there is lot of stairs so pack light. Also the rooms did not look as nice as the photos.

Extremely dated interior , very much a faulty towers vibe off it. I stayed over in Kilkenny for a work event and basically booked because it had availability. Came back from the pub and the hotel bar was open but bar man in a foul mood so just went to bed. Basically Club House was probably best hotel in Kilkenny 100 years ago but owners over the years neglected the building to make easy money . Very run down.
