The view from the cabins is beautiful. It was an easy drive, but the closet food, gas, shops, etc are about 30-40 minutes away. There is nothing between the towns or Vik and Kirkjubæjarklaustur except for the cabins, so stock up and fill up before heading out there. The cabin had heaters inside, but it is not well insulated so it still got chilly inside. The shower is small, but it had plenty of warm water for our family. Some the appliances were older and showed its age. There’s a fence about a meter from the cabin which was disappointing since there wasn’t much space for the kids to play.
