The place is beautiful and peaceful. The staff is the best. The bedding needs to be changed if stains cannot be removed from bedding. An addition on the breakfast menu would be nice, eating the same thing for a week is not nice.

I travel a lot and have experienced guesthouses in SA. But Southey House certainly stands out. The friendliness and kindness with which myself and my three guests were spoiled by Precious is outstanding. The location is great, the view from the stoep is stunning, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is outsanding. I felt home at Southey House the moment I entered and I will certainly be back.

Staying at Southey House was a superb experience!
My hosts were friendly & kind - always willing to assist.
By chance, I met with the proprietor of this establishment - Like her staff, she was ultra friendly & inquired about my stay experience. I informed her that the parking was a bit tight for more than 3 vehicles - she however assured me that there are plans to expand.
Southey House is located in a dead-ended street, leading to a security entrance of a nearby college - I guess this contributed to the reduced traffic & quietness.
The view out of the Karoo Room was stunning & contributed to the atmosphere of serenity.
My room was virtually a suite - sufficient for a couple to enjoy in comfort.
The breakfast included a nice selection of the usual cereals, breads, spreads, yoghurt - the fruit salad, however varied daily: one day included guava, another day berries... it was these special touches, along with the staff's attitude towards client service, that will draw me back to Southey House on my next trip to the Pinetown area.

Southey Guest House was a home away from home, it's homely, cozy and so welcoming. Then the is Lungi wow she is so very so welcoming and so helpful. we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed as a family at Southey House which felt like home with great service and a breakfast that had so many options that prepared you for the day ahead. Location is ideal for nearby restaurants and any shopping. Highly recommended.

I simply loved staying at Southey House. Tranquil place with beautiful views. The staff are friendly and helpful. They are equipped with charged lights during loadshedding, so no need to worry about being in the dark. Would HIGHLY recommend Southey House.
