Great

The Salakphet Resort is quiet, secluded place on the south east tip of Ko Chang. The rooms are out over the water, making it a fun and unique place to stay. The atmosphere is very quiet. The rooms have net beds in front of them for sunrise coffees and sleepy afternoons. The Salakphet restaurant has delicious seafood and excellent views of the ocean and nearby islands.
The resort also provides kayaks for free and there are two islands close by that are easy to kayak to. Paddle boards are also available, and the front desk is very helpful in arranging other activities and transportation.
What travelers should know: there isn’t much around the Salakphet Resort. There is no beach for swimming and no restaurants within safe walking distand to eat at other than the Salakphet’s own Seafood Restaurant. The prices at the restaurant are a little high (about 300baht for a dish). There is a great bakery just down the path (AOY’s) that’s you must visit. You can kayak out to beautiful beaches, but the water the bungalows are on is not very clean. Rent a car or scooters and visit a lighthouse and fishing villages nearby.

Amazing

This hotel is situated over the water with stilts, which I loved. Its unique appearance, with all its natural wood flooring and decks adds to its charm and feel of the fishing community. It’s a terrific place to stay for some great Thai Seafood!
The VIP rooms are recommended as they are spacious and have a lovely outside space to relax over looking the water. They also have plenty of windows and natural lighting. These rooms are very comfortable.
It has a restaurant attached to it, also over the water on stilts, which serves fantastic, fresh sea food dishes! My favorite meals was the barracuda with sweet and sour sauce and the calamari. They are good sized meals and their fresh juices are also perfect for the heat!
Aoys farm bakery and cafe is also very close by. If you go to your left of the entrance to this hotel you will see the sign for her cafe and bakery. Aoy makes the most delicious cakes that are supplied to many hotels and businesses on the island! Highly recommend going to see her charming cafe and bakery! It’s a short walk and great for fantastic breakfasts and fresh juices or warm drinks, if you don’t want sea food at the resort, go there!
The pool is lovely, as the water below the hotel is not clean and we did not want to swim in it. There are other beach locations for swimming.
You can hire a fishing rod and do some DIY fishing, or pay for fishing half or full day trips, hire bikes, and kayaks. I was satisfied with this location and would certainly consider staying there again for a night or two!

The hotel is typical; the setting is really superb.
Too bad there is no beach for swimming but it is possible to take a small boat to go to an island nearby
On the other hand, it is a little out of the way but I have an excellent memory of it and I left with regret

A relatively remote hotel. The facilities and environment are clean and comfortable. The restaurant opening hours are too short. From 8 am to 6 pm, it is inconvenient that there is no restaurant nearby.

Beautiful structure buit on stilts over the waters with one of the best seafood restaurant of Koh Chang. Large room well equiped nicely decorated and well maintained. Free kayaks to explore the bay or to spend some lovely times at the small white sand beach on Koh Phrao Nok. Best is to rent a scooter to explore the area since the roads are flat and safe on this side of the island. Not only Long Beach or Memorial Beach but Salakphet Temple, the waterfall and the mangrove forest is a must to visit !!! We had a great private tour boat at a very affordable price with several stops on different islands. Just ask the manager Khun Big and she will do her best to fulfil your expectations for a customized experience. Be aware Salakphet is a quiet traditional fishing village so do not expect bars or discos in the surroundings but is a great spot for nature lovers. We could spend only 3 days here and it was not enough to discover everything so we will come back again.
