Nice room and decent hotel. Breakfast looks better than it tastes. The warm daily dishes are disappointing and there is absence of good Thai food. The bread, deli meat, cheeses, bread and salad choices are fine. Eggs and waffles are made to order and they are fine. Restaurant is not air conditioned and has small fans which add very little ventilation. Had issues twice with air conditioning and tub. Maid kept room very clean and made towels into pretty shapes along with flowers on bed. Made mistake of coming in May and it was miserably hot and most chairs are not shielded from the sun. The beach although beautiful is very narrow and filled with large rocks and coral so not good for walking or swimming. Had to walk down beach to find a better beach area but it lacked shade. If you can get the room without the 300 baht each normal charge I would suggest it. We had one day nearby in a cheaper hotel because we arrived late. Problem we had in May is there very few breakfast choices near either hotel. Very few street food vendors and mainly overpriced western food. Took several days to find good Thai food. I would recommend Koh Kood if you are alone. Better beaches and cheaper foods

Great stay at Koh Chang. I like everything there especially the two swimming pools, they were not crowded and with 1.4m deep i could truly swim in the infinity pool. Staff were friendly for arranging everything for me. I would definitely go back, koh chang is not regarded as big upto phuket scale but good enough to get away hustling life. It would be even better if the beach is larger.

A hotel for a relaxing holiday for adults. For those who want to step away from unnecessary fuss. Good breakfasts. Purely. Friendly and helpful staff. The sea is not pleasant: the abundance of stones does not allow you to enter the water normally, but you can swim within walking distance on the right side of the beach. There are a lot of cafes and shops right outside the hotel gates. Not all hotels on Koh Chang can boast of this.

Brothers and sisters, this is a treasure! Except that it is far away from a seafood stall, there are no shortcomings, nothing! 50 yuan a day to rent a motorcycle, 150 yuan a day for an island hopping tour, all arranged for you!

Good hotel, although not new. Convenient location with many cafes and shops nearby. The territory is good, a lot of greenery. Breakfast is modest, the main diet is eggs in different versions. In addition, vegetables, fruits, herbs, pastries. Two pools: in a large one, it seems, sea water. We did not swim there, as the water is very warm, not at all refreshing. In a small one, the water is better, clean, you can freshen up) The beach is very beautiful, but not swimmable at all! Stones. You can enter only in coral slippers. We did not swim in the sea near the hotel. There are kayaks, the use of hotel guests is free. The staff is friendly, as are the locals. But special thanks to the girls at the reception. Very hospitable, friendly, always ready to help!! And thanks to the hotel driver, he also helps with luggage upon arrival and departure! Very pleasant and helpful! We will stay at this hotel again! ❤️

We had a nice stay at Gajapuri. Resort looks amazing with its beautiful garden, water and all the wooden houses. Our air conditioner broke down so they upgraded us to a beach front house which we loved. The resort is not crowded and the two pools are nice. Breakfast was not the best, especially the yoghurt was of bad quality, very watery. Luckily they have an egg station and they make fresh waffles. Nice restaurants in the area, we liked Happy (500 meters from the hotel) restaurant very much.

Great location and amazing service. We love hotel grounds and very comfortable bungalows. Two very good size pools. Please, order more fresh coconuts, because we tried to order few times and you didn't have it. Hotel staff is really friendly and professional.

Everything was great and as described: friendly staff who helped us organise the transportation to Koh Kood, lovely beach front bungalow which was spacious and comfortable with a nice outside area, lovely facilities like the restaurant for breakfast and the swimming pools (there are two!) and great spot to watch the sunset. The property is surrounded by lots of green / nature and is quiet, yet on the doorstep of plenty of restaurants. There is only a small beach right in front of the property but you have a couple of bigger ones to the right and also the beautiful and long Kai Bae beach within 10-15 mins walking distance.

This time-beaten resort is overpriced. It is no on Kaie Bae beach, it is relatively close to it. The hotel's beach itself is poor. It is very narrow, with sharp rocks from the very first steps in the water and quite shallow on low tide. You have to go in quite a bit to start swimming without hitting some submerged rock with your hands and feet. Bring water shoes for swimming. The facilities are rundown. A single restaurant serves a good breakfast (included) and mediocre dinners (for extra $$). Two pools are boring. The property should spend some money on redecoration and a general cleanup. The "adults-only" reservoir is filled with dirty water, of course no one hangs around that place. The villas are OK, but their walls do not hold any sound inside. If you are a couple, you have to rely on people not being too inquisitive and passing by your hut quickly enough. It is instructive that, once you book this property, your money is seized. You cannot cancel and get a refund. The only option is to change the dates and pay the difference, if any. All trips are to be paid in cash, as the property management apparently have no idea how the modern credit system works. When I needed to pay something with the credit card, they insisted I should sign a blank form authorization for my cc use (with my passport number and all the personal data) - and no sum to be charged was included anywhere on the form! It's like signing a blank cheque, surely enough, I had to refuse. As other reviewers note, the overall quality is OK, quite passable, yet the idea that you could get a substantially better accommodation on a better beach for the same price or less is discouraging. Those who consider GajaPuri should consider 5-star resorts on the island and compare prices. You might be surprised.

A nice and stylish resort with two great pools just like on the pictures. Nicely decorated and spacious rooms. When we were there, mid November, not too many people and really quite. We could borrow kayaks free of charge which we did twice. GajaPuri had its own little beach and a rather large green area. A nice an airy breakfast section too. Although I missed the thai food breakfast. The good things was to have one pool reserved for adults and one for children.

Having travelled 23 hours to get here. I find out Agoda had cancelled my booking without notifying me. My stress level went though the roof. The young lady at the front desk said no problems we still have your room so I simply booked straight through the Hotel. GajaPuri is an amazing little hotel which I cannot recommend enough. Their customer service is second to none. Staff are very well trained and always happy. Breakfast will have some thing for everyone they have amazing pools. Cant wait to go back

Nice room, big pool, great breakfasts, excellent location for the local shops and restaurants. Beach front is very small but there is a very nice grassy area adjacent with sunbeds. Staff very friendly. Would recommend.

The setting isn’t as per the photos, which lead you to believe that you are set back in tranquil jungle. You are not! Behind the hotel is the busy ***** of Kai Bae … but that suited us as it was good to be close to the restaurants (the ones we went to were all great). The hotel is sympathetically built with wooden rooms and bungalows scattered around, and the rooms were well equipped and clean. The two swimming pools were fantastic. Breakfast was just ok (but you had to pay for the Thai breakfast) and none of the food was covered, hence little flies hovering around. The staff were pleasant but apart from at meal times, they were pretty absent. The hotel was very quiet and lacked a bit of life but that may suit some. Lunch was ok and I don’t believe they serve dinner. However the local restaurants are in abundant and great. There is no beach at the hotel (apart from a very slim ***** when the tide went out) so that might disappoint some.
