Great 3 day break by the sea. The food is also very good and the prices are reasonable for Asian and Western meals. Except both times I ordered chips, they were undercooked. I don't usually eat fried food but decided to indulge. The staff are wonderful and the grounds are well worth a walk or 2. The taxi to the airport was also on time and had vg AC. All in all a pleasant stay. I wholeheartedly recommend. GD

Drop your expectations to the floor; and you might just enjoy it. Ferry pickup (driver not found) Our power was taken out by a storm, which was very quickly resolved, and the staff were lovely about it. The room aircon broke so we switched rooms, they offered us 2x 30m massages in the Melati spa which was beautiful, and added buffet breakfasts to the bookings of our friends which was nice. The aircon in the 2nd room didn’t work either, it blew air but the temp didn’t drop The pool was green and unclean, asked for it to be cleaned and they just turned on the inbuilt filter / jets - didn’t get the dirt out of the pool. Finally our bath water was brown, residual issue from the storm 3 nights earlier, but nobody thought to ensure the water pipes were clean? No wonder we didn’t feel clean after our showers! We didn’t end up using the bath, although they had repairmen come at 10:30pm to sort it out for us, and they did get the water running clear. The staff were all wonderful, I can’t stress that enough, they were absolutely lovely. The issues we had were with the facilities / storm, and our pool not being clean. The resort is ageing, so the staff are frantically running around to repair it. We booked through trip, this is the only way we could get a partial (20%) refund on our booking. The buffet breakfast is great, as is the swim up bar. So it’s a roulette resort, you may have no issues and you may have many.

Booked this for our honeymoon. Near to the airport and far from very other place. The service is overrated for a resort with the present rating. Room has faulty sockets, close to nothing for cable TV. The only thing that was plentiful was the mosquitoes! Breakfast is not bad though.

Bit disappointing. Resort is a bit old fashioned. Restaurant is mwahh, and we’ve missed the good coffee and wine. WIFI reception is not very good and you’re dependent on transportation to go out. Staff is very friendly though

During our recent visit to Koh Samui, our stay at the Melati Beach Resort and Spa was exceptional. The warm welcome from the staff, the luxurious facilities, and the breathtaking view of the beach helped to make our experience memorable. The spacious rooms, attentive service, and delicious food exceeded our expectations. This property is truly a haven of relaxation and comfort, we highly recommend it to all travelers looking for a quality getaway to Koh Samui.

Good hotel for a holiday, liked it. Located on a slope between the mountains. The sun comes out later and goes behind the mountain earlier, so there is no soft morning and sunset sun (tanning).

The Melati offers a beautiful resort with two restaurants. Our room was spacious with a balcony a perfect place to hear the tropical birdsong and night sounds. My daughter and I played backgammon each evening (supplied by hotel) Stunning landscaped grounds with a waterfall and water lilies. Staff are very attentive. Big Shout out to Kevin who noticed how sunburnt my daughter was and made a special trip outside the resort to acquire some soothing gel and delivered to our room in a bag with ice. Thank you Kevin life saver There are no shops close by and a shuttle is offered to Cheweng Beach at 1:00 and returning 4:30 pm. Taxis are expensive. Would recommend as an option to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Response from Property: Dear Mrs Clifford, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled you and your daughter enjoyed the spacious room, beautiful grounds, and attentive staff at Melati. Kevin will be delighted to hear your kind words. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another peaceful getaway soon! Beautiful complex. Fantastic restaurants. Right on the sea front. Authentic, not boring and too modern. Lovely water features. Room/villa spacious and very clean. Plunge pool was great. Staff helpful and polite, despite English bot being their first language the effort was there. Massages cheaper elsewhere which were good, however did not compare to the experience you receive in the Melati spa. Loved it all. Thankyou for making our honeymoon so special!!!
Response from Property: Dear valued guest, Thanks a lot for your kind words and for sharing your 5-star review with us and the rest of our community. We are truly honored to read that your honeymoon here with us was nothing but exceptional and amazing. We wish you both the best in your new adventure together. Yes, believe what you’ve heard; the beach here is perfect. The food is so good. I had the pool villa suite and it was amazing. The whole place is stunning. BUT the best thing about the Melati are the staff. If you are lucky enough to stay here, talk to the staff. They’re really lovely people. When I arrived I was greeted by super helpful Banana (on reception) with Aris. Then Tony brought me room service when I got to my room. Then in the restaurant and I met lovely, smiley Anna (the trainee) who tried to teach me some Myanmar words. Thuley from Nepal…who was VERY funny! Kevin from the Philippines was a funny fella too! Then we had my menu guide, the lovely Gift. There was Mam, Ji Ji ( I might have spelt that wrong, sorry), Sunny, Sun, Kwang, the very wise John from Myanmar, Ning, Phadthai and the super sweet Poupeé on reception. There were others who I met only once but the people above made me feel very welcome from day one. Thanks to everyone for making my stay full of smiles and laughter.
Response from Property: Dear Twoblokes, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay here, at Melati Resort and Spa and for giving us the highest score possible. I'm very glad to read that you found my team so friendly and helpful. Indeed Thai people are very welcoming and warm. I'm lucky to have such a great crew by my side. We all appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you again in the near future. Best wishes. Daniel Sobrinos Guest Relations Manager at Melati Resort and Spa

Reading through some of the reviews before visiting, we were a bit worried about the quality of this hotel. Let me start off by saying there is nothing to worry about and this hotel is a really nice stay. Cant understand why are some reviews so negative here. We stayed for 6 nights in the middle of January. Took a Pool Villa for about 350eur/night, which i'd was good value for a familiy of 4, considering Koh Samui prices. Its bigger than you expect, with a spacious master bedroom, a really big bathroom, outdoors shower, another bedroom for two kids, and a little courtyard/patio affair with the private pool. The hotel area from the entrance side starts with the beautiful lobby building, with a restaurant on the lower floor. Most of the Pool Villas are next to that, arranged around the Sanctuary Pool. The other place where you want to be is the beach end of the hotel, which has the main infinity pool, the breakfast area which doubles as a beach restaurant at night, and the kids club. Distance from the lobby side to the beach side is about 200m, which is a lovely walk through the well kept gardens. Unless you are really old and frail, im not sure how can anyone complain about a 5 min walk through a beautiful Thai garden? The hotel felt it was about half-full, which was a positive thing. It was a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, where you can just about get a free sunbed every day, and enjoy the pool and beach area with about 10-20 other guests. There was some towel-booking, but the staff was happy to remove them if you ask, as per hotel policy. During a typical pool day, i'd say it was a mix of 3-4 families with toddlers, some couples and then mostly older people. Breakfast was great, with all the fresh fruit and pastries and poached eggs and whatever you can think of. We mostly ate Thai food in the hotel restaurants, which was also good and quite affordable, i think pad thai and stir-fry type of stuff was about 200-300THB. Beach was nice, no trash or anything like that. But the water was quite shallow and the main pool was just so nice that we mostly preferred the pool. Its a small beach, the only other occupants being a hippie style bar to the right of the hotel, and what looked like a cluster of villas to the left. Its 500m from the hotel entrance to the main road, where you can find a Tops supermarket. So theres really nothing where you can walk to, which might be a issue for some. You can rent a car from the hotel for 1300RHB/day, or take a taxi to Chaweng for 400thb. Staff was very friendly, with smiles and bows all around, working all day to keep the grounds and rooms clean and guests comfortable. Everyone understands English and there was no problem communicating our wishes, be it a late night drive to pharmacy (for which they asked no money) or room service or booking a tour. Special thanks to Daniel from the reception, who was always there to explain everything in detail and help us with any questions. Thanks Melati! Can only recommend
