This was our place to go whenever we visited Koh Samui. This is a small, quiet beach front boutique hotel. The staff have always been very friendly and will try their best to accommodate you. This visit we felt very unwelcome. Considering this was our 5th visit, and we were excited to be back in Koh Samui, I was expecting to have been welcome back in a nicer way. No, that did not happen. We found our bathroom was dirty, especially around the toilet, and immediately I contacted Reception, who sent someone to clean it and then asked if we wanted to change rooms. I asked why the toilet had not been cleaned in the first place, and they could not answer. I was so disappointed. I then started to notice other things that I was not happy about. We asked for the manager, who we know well and has always been very hands-on and always came to welcome us back when we returned for a visit, and they said they would send a message. The manager sent us a bottle of wine and an apology note. Well, that was very presumptuous of the manager because I don't drink!!! We returned the bottle!!! I eventually met the new manager, he's new from England. I did let him know how I felt and told him it was not very nice to step into an unclean bathroom. Excuse was they just done maintenance, I told him that's not my concern it should have been cleaned, and he accepted this should have been done. The hotel is looking very old and does not have the wow look anymore, and considering we've visited many times the hotel did have refurbishments in the room, the rest of the hotel definitely needs refurbishment. You would have thought this would have been taken care of during the lockdown. The sky roof in the breakfast area needs cleaning. The swim up bar the tile fell off and one of the guest had to show the staff member what had happened because it was sitting in the bottom of the pool which the guest went and pull up and gave to the staff member. So, to be honest it's a lovely hotel but the manager is an office person and does not really engage well with guests, which is a shame because for a small hotel he definitely needs to be ensuring his guest know who he is and to also welcome them back or thank them for visiting. He did, however, come and wave us goodbye, I suppose he's hoping we will be back. We are not sure we will visit again. We went and checked out another hotel and found other hotels charging the same and are much nicer. Changes bring better, but it did not happen on this occasion, unfortunately.

about 10mins drive from airport to hotel.
hotel location is good, near to central plaza & chaweng night market approx 10-12mins walk. it's a one way street so not too many cars around.
the beach is also less than a minute walk from hotel.
stayed at level 3 garden view. night time we could still hear music but it was fine, music was not too loud that we couldnt sleep. door closing from neighbours did affect our sleep though. perhaps soft closing of doors could be implemented. housekeeping staff was friendly too, only that we didnt ask for housekeeping everyday because after our 1st housekeeping, our entire room smell bad it could be due to the mop and cleaning materials used which cause the smell..
breakfast spread was excellent, variety of international cuisine. live egg and noodles station, foods were getting refilled promptly.
if you are staying in the hotel around 2-4pm, there's happy hour 1-1. we ordered chicken sandwich as well, it was superb. swimming pool is clean too, many beach bench available, beach towel is available as well.

We booked through luxury escapes with the junior suite upgrade, as part of the grand reopening package, this gave us massage’s and an extra meal every day. The Positives:- our room was enormous with terrace that overlooked the sea, it was nice to wake up to sounds of lapping waves. The whole hotel has had a partial make over and a coat of paint, the gardens and water features are excellent, the pool is clean, maintained and a nice size. The massage team were very polite, professional and not pushy. Their massages are not expensive and seem to price match going further down the beach. The Neutrals:- The refurbishment is cosmetic, the electrical switches are old and yellowed, there’s no usb sockets next to the bed. There seems to be a reluctance in giving you enough towels for your room, 1 small bath towel and a flannel per person, they also provide you pool towels. Breakfast was okay, it’s a buffet service with a European selection and Thai selection, the sliced break was just suitable for toast as the crusts and edges dry out quickly. Rita who served coffee in the morning was shining example as was the chef who did a range of egg’s every morning, they both remembered our daily orders. A point of frustration for us was we didn’t find a single fork or knife that wasn’t bent. I guess the refurb’ budget didn’t go that far. The coffee was variable from okay to very bitter. Some of the table staff seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves rather clearing tables. The pool furniture is tired and in places dirty with bird droppings, the staff seem reluctant to clear used glasses. The included meals on our package were okay, not exciting, the quantity varied, but usually well presented. We ended up going out to a restaurant next to the hotel, which was excellent and great value. To swim in the sea is tide dependent, at high tide the waves come right up to and crash into the property wall and it’s impossible and unsafe to enter and walk down the beach. When the tide is out, there’s quite a lot of litter on the shore edge, which you have cross to get into sea. Another thing to consider, there are facilities for the disabled. There are no lifts, ramps toilets etc, but loads of stairs, it’s a bit of a drag going to reception to get you key card reprogrammed when it fails. If you’re unsteady on your feet give this place a wide berth. The location is about 15-20 mins or 200tb into town. Chewang beach is very lively in the evening, there is something for absolutely everyone there! There’s also a western style shopping mall and a great food court. Finally what really grated us, there’s a price list of items in our room should we break something or decide to take something. This sits really uncomfortable with us. They know the price of everything but the cost of nothing We’re happy to be moving on after 7 nights. We wouldn’t come back here and feel uncomfortable recommending it. However we’d certainly come back to Koh Samui

Beautiful hotel with lots of amenities. Beach with white sands and clear water. Perfect for families. Love their surprise of the day. Breakfast is average. It's in the heart of Samui.
I booked a pool villa. Cleaninest is poor. The pool was dirty and smelly. I paid for the villa to use the pool for three nights, but I ended up not using it at all. It was our wedding anniversary but didn't go well i as wanted. Survived mosquito bites. A snake slithered at my door, just outside the villa. So please be aware. Though i like the hotel, I'm not sure if I'll ever go back again after experiencing all those unpleasant things. Snake was the last thing I expected to see in a star hotel.

We had the most amazing 3 days 2 nights spent at The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui and we are so glad we made the decision to stay here for our honeymoon.
The service provided by the staff was exceptional and greatly appreciated. They have demonstrated outstanding service which truly made a difference. Their attentiveness and hospitality made our experience even more memorable. Special mention to the Reservation Manager, Gine Castillo Aguenza and reception officer, Yady for their hospitality.
Little touches such as the double room upgrade, bouquet of red roses, evening cocktail drinks at the lobby, cake in room, daily activities and the shuttle bus to Chaweng Beach did not go unnoticed and these are what made Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui so special!
We look forward to returning in the near future!

This is a luxury resort. Our Jacuzzi deluxe ocean view room is beautiful and comfortable, good in size with a jacuzzi hot tub in the balcony. The hotel gives quests the warmest hospitality, from carefully made welcome desserts, fruits, snacks, and more than you can drink, nice brands of tonics, sodas, and fruit juices, and those will be refilled once every day. In some promotion booking plans, quests can have a set of free afternoon tea for two, however, it is enough even for 4 persons. All services are nice, and many extra items can be provided on request. The hotel has 4 restaurants, all have beautiful ocean views, with very nice settings in very relaxing atmospheres. The hotel has 2 infinity pools, and one beach, with comfortable, creative pool chairs. Everything in this hotel is really enjoyable, and we had a wonderful time during our stay.

We stayed at three different hotels/resorts for our honeymoon and by far the most memorable experience was during our stay at the IC. The friendly and helpful staff always went the extra step to be helpful and accommodating. We were able to relax and enjoy all of the services that were made available to us, and enjoy having dates at the different picturesque sights throughout the day. In particular, the speed of the services such as requesting a buggy or ordering room service were extremely quick! We would like to thank all of the wonderful staff who worked hard all day to give us such a wonderful experience. In particular Emily at the lobby was extremely helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived to every time we happened to pass by. Thank you all, for making this once in a lifetime honeymoon truly exceptional. We hope to come again for a longer stay during future anniversaries!

GGuest UserI read many reviews about this resort and studied the Mantra Samui website, but never learned until after I booked (4 nights stay) my room that they had cancelled , during Covid, the regular shuttle that took guests down the hill to Fisherman Villa. I learned this because I called the hotel before my trip to ask some questions and also ask how to reserve a place on their shuttle. The resort does have one auto/driver that will drive you down to the bottom of the hill if it is there, and if it is not picking up someone at the airport. The shuttle delivers you directly to the bottom of the hill, is pretty much is just a local road. Then you can wave down a taxi and negotiate the price. Some fun! The Mantra Sumai should update their website to say the regular shuttle has been cancelled, and replaced by their maybe available one car. Continuing my story... We booked a massage at another hotel that is about 20 minutes away, and gave ourselves one hour to get there. So the night before we reserved to get the ride down to the bottom of the hill for the next day afternoon. When we went to reception, we were informed there was an accident, which was a flat tire, and the tire 'might' be fixed in half an hour and then another 20 minutes to get back to the Mantra. They apparently felt no responsibility to contact us. Just wait for the guests to show up and then tell them. They felt no responsibility to call the driver for any update. They then offered to call a taxi, but that would take about 20 minutes to arrive. Also when you call a taxi there is no opportunity for negotiation. My hour was dwindling. Well 20 is better than maybe 30 + 20 minutes. So they called the taxi. Luckily the Mantra driver showed up after 15 minutes, and the taxi was cancelled. My conclusion, after all the interfaces with reception, is they have a poor sense of responsibility and lacking the ability for logical thinking to provide a good guest experience. There are other examples beyond the above. Our suite room was in good condition, and everything functioning. Well, except the phone did not work, but I did not need that. The suite has a king size bed and a separate built in bed in the back of the living room. OK, so 4 people can stay. But the flaw in the suites is there is only a 2 person love seat to sit on. There is no chair, and no desk. It is no fun to use your laptop when the coffee table level is below your knees. A simple 4 leg table for a desk, and a simple chair would be nice, and not cost very much. They do have an on-site co-work room somewhere, but I did not use it. I think it is an extra cost and I did not have that much work to do anyway. The highlight of the Mantra Samui was the included breakfast. There are many cooked to order choices plus a buffet of juices, fruits, cereals, yogurt, pastries, and several breads you can toast yourself. We tried every item on the breakfast menu and all were nicely done and tasty. Very good coffee and tea made to order i
GGuest UserWe have just returned from a 12 night stay at the Tongsai Bay. As returning guests we knew to expect an excellent service across the board. However what we didn’t expect was that they have managed to improve on what we already thought was perfection! The Garrya rebrand seems to have complemented the Tongsai, without detracting from the essence of the original concept. The rooms have been re-vamped but the upgrade is very much in keeping with the eco friendly jungle location. It was good to see that the natural tones and furnishings remain. Many of the long-standing staff are still there, and the new additions in staff provide the same faultless service with a warm smile on their faces. Every single member of staff was exceptional! It would be unfair to list individual staff as it is obvious that all departments work together as one team under the expert guidance of Manuel and Mark. I have yet to stay in another hotel where senior management get so involved. The main improvement for us this time was the food, which was already very good. The Tongsai have definitely upped their game here. every single meal we ate was truly delicious. Overall and exceptional experience, we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to anyone. Thank you to everyone at the Tongsai for making our holiday absolutely perfect. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
GGuest UserWell we are just about to leave this Idyllic place and what a fabulous time we have had. So this villa is perfect as it’s about 10 minutes out of the hassle and bustle and right away from the main area , you do need to either be happy to pay for taxis (£9) each way to Fisherman Village, main area that’s close by or hire a car. We choose taxi, there are lots around. Take the Idyllic card and just show them when you want a taxi, if you give the team notice they will drive you in and you can get a taxi back, Idyllic will charge you to take you but they are so lovely. The villa is gorgeous and the team cannot do enough to make sure you have a lovely time. They are so friendly and will help you with what ever you need. The manager and lovely lady takes time to talk to you and make sure everything is ok. No Restaurant or bar just villa and a private beach. So as long as your all prepared you cannot have a bad experience. We had 3 adults a 17 year old a 19 year old and 3 and 5 year old and we have all had an amazing time. Sad to be leaving and Thank You For looking after us so well… Tracy Grunwell xx
FFlorian WouterGreat place to stay if you just want to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Location is a bit remote, so you will need some sort of transportation to get to places like bars and restaurants. The pool is amazing as well as the view in morning during sunrise! Rooms are large and well equipped. Would love to come back again! Also, if you have the chance, say hi to the house cat at the reception 🥰
AAnique SarahIt’s been a few weeks now since my husband and I stayed at the Dara Samui and it feels like a beautiful hazy dream. We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and each day we became more and more relaxed, choosing to have most of our meals there, and to spend our days between the pool and the sea. The hotel has a lunch time happy hour special on their Thai dishes, which are delicious and come in generous portions. We did the Thai cooking course with the head chef and that was a really fun way to spend a morning. The staff were friendly and helpful and the whole place has a really good vibe. You can tell they are trying to up their game post-COVID. I would definitely recommend it.
GGuest UserVery good location. Beach and water clean with a lot of fish. Always available sun beds at the Beach and at the pools. Breakfast is very good. Like all the fresh fruit.
We would like to come back.
GGuest Userexcellent !!!! could not find anything less than that (and i can easily find usually) rooms, facilities, stuff, location - Excellent special thanks to amazing Pam in reception that was super friendly, welcoming, professional, smart and interesting i want to thank you in person for your hospitality and welcome i wish every place could have given me such a perfect welcoming experience Thanks !!!
GGuest UserUpon arrival we were awe struck with the organic beauty of the island which we were about to stay on.. After a short boat ride we had arrived in paradise and welcomed with warm smiles and refreshments. We were Taken to our room on our golf buggy (no motorised vechiles on the island yay). Our spacious waterfront room topped off with an infinity pool looked out over the Gulf of Thailand and was immaculately clean and serviced daily by up to 3 housekeepers at a time. We dined at Both Hue restaurant (our favourite) and also Long Dtai Both displaying fresh produce daily, some items unavailable from day to day which suited us as we knew it was all fresh 👍 The Staff Led by Urs (GM) and Patzy (Restaurant manager) were all friendly and attentive. The Day Spa exceeded our expectations with numerous treatments available to ensure you remain relaxed on your holiday Ignore the bad reviews on here about this property The place is amazing without fault!! We will be back ✌️
冰冰点蓝是我Advantages: French pastoral decoration style deep my heart The room facing the sea Pull the door directly to the sea The kind of unsatisfactory! The hotel waiter is also very enthusiastic. Especially recommend his restaurant. The chef is afraid that it will not be Michelin level. Even if you don't go out to the hotel, you won't be tired. Haha, and the toiletries in his home taste very advanced. Porridge, because we booked a suite more spacious when booking. Waiting for 2 adults and 1 child to stay, they put an extra 1.2 single bed next to the big bed. If it is a normal room, he said that it is not good for an extra bed.
Disadvantages: The drinking water provided by the hotel has a salty smell. It is not used to drinking. It is all 711 to buy water. The hotel has no parking lot. It is not good to park.

The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the breathtaking views and the hotel's pristine swimming pool. I spent hours simply admiring the picturesque scenery while lounging poolside.
