Stayed with my wife and 11 year old in a room with a private onsen. I have to say, I was nervous about staying here because there were very few reviews and none that I could find since Japan reopened after the pandemic. I usually don't write reviews but I'm doing this for the next person that might be on the fence. I had the concierge at our hotel in Tokyo arrange the pickup from Matto station which went very smoothly. It's only about a 10 minute train ride from Kanazawa train station and the driver was waiting there for us as we exited the ticket gates at the station. When we arrived, we checked in with the one employee who spoke English and she gave us the overview of everything at the ryokan. We then went to our room and relaxed for a few hours until dinner time. I don't know if it was because we spoke English but we had dinner in a banquet hall all by ourselves. The dinner was absolutely amazing, it was the best meal I had in multiple trips to Japan. I don't want to spoil it but we did no upgrades to our meal and we wish we came even more hungry because it was a lot of food across around 10 courses. Everything was seasonal and each course was a setup to the next course, I loved it. After dinner we used the private onsen in the room and went to sleep. The next morning we had breakfast once again in the private banquet room and again it was an amazing meal. We relaxed for a few more hours and then they gave us a ride back to the Motto station. This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for some peace and relaxation. Everyone in the ryokan was across the board super friendly and professional. The language barrier was a real thing but we kept an open mind and we made it through just fine. My wife and I have tattoos so using the public onsen was probably not an option, but since we splurged for the private one I probably wouldn't have used it anyways, though it is rooftop and looked super nice. Overall, I can't recommend a night here enough. It was for sure the highlight of our trip to Japan. Thank you so much to all the staff that made it such a special night for us. Mahalo!

The hotel is old and the room is clean but not well cleaned especially the corners of the room. The room is old and dull and the toilet smells bad. The balcony is covered with bamboo screen which make hard to see the outside. We can see the balcony is not well cleaned and the rooftop of the building is not well cleaned, too. If they clean the balcony and rooftop it will make a big difference. The fence at the balcony is worn out if they repainted it,it will be very beautiful seeing from the inside. I dont care if the building is old but they should keep it well cleaned and more presentable and im sure people will come again. The food is good and the bathing facilities is also good but its too hot no air at all, i didnt stay long because i cant breath i wish they open the window for fresh air to come. the atmosphere from the window the dried mold of the rooftop and the worn out of the balcony fence should be fix.The place is very quiet and you can really relax.The main entrance and ground floor is renovated and its nice and modern. The service is good too but the clerks are not lively they should be more cheerful. If the room is not dull and the balcony and rooftop is clean i want to stay again but sorry i wont stay here again. 娘夫婦と一緒に、大人4人1室予約で行きました。周りを見ても、２世代/３世代で訪れている人が多い印象でした。 地震と今後始まる宿泊割の影響なのか、今回は人が少なめでゆったりと過ごすことができました。 【お風呂】 温泉を存分に楽しむならこちらです。３つの大浴場があり飽きることがありません。どの浴槽も温泉ですが、源泉掛け流しの浴槽と、源泉の浴槽と、温泉の引き湯での浴槽があります。掛け流しの浴槽は釜風呂（五右衛門風呂）で大きくはありません。入れるタイミングがあればおすすめです。 タオルは大浴場へ持参するスタイルですが、部屋に備え付けのものが濡れてしまっても何度でも替えることができました（バスタオルもOK）。 化粧水やミルク、男性用の基礎化粧品等は、大浴場にもお部屋にもあります。綿棒は部屋にはありませんが大浴場にはありました。手ぶらで行っても大丈夫です。 【お部屋】 我が家はさほど高いプランを選択したわけではありませんでしたが、それでも広々とした充分なお部屋でした。 布団や枕、ソファやクッションなどの質もすばらしかったです。畳はリニューアルなさったとのことで綺麗でした。 お部屋のテレビにはHDMI端子があるので、Fireスティックなどを持参すれば部屋で配信動画も楽しめます。 【館内サービス】 お菓子の提供、フリードリンクなど、滞在客が楽しめるサービスが多いです。また、館内はどこも良い香りがしていましたし、空気には常に清潔感があり、深呼吸したくなる感じでした。 【お食事】 夕食も朝食も、少しずつに見えるのにいただいているとお腹いっぱいで、どれも美味しかったです。季節感や郷土色にも配慮が行き届いていましたし、食材の鮮度が抜群に良かったです。 仲居さんのおもてなしも満点です。長くお勤めのベテランさんなのだろうなと感じました。 夏は大きなウォータースライダーのあるプールも楽しめます。近場に「ゆのくにの森」があり、プールがない時期はそちらも楽しいです。 温泉リゾートという感じの旅館で、楽しい非日常を味わうことができ、予算が許せば2泊滞在したい旅館でした。全てにおいて満足です。

We booked this onsen on line ourselves. We have travelled to Japan before and have previously experienced other onsen and accompanying Kaiseki meals. We were a little surprised at the location of the onsen. It was in the suburbs. But maybe that was our fault. The area around did seem to be run down. There were a few sad looking shops around. Some were closed. Maybe because of Covid. Maybe it is not geared for foreign tourists. The building is not modern. It had a faded glory about it. It is large and rambling. Our room /suite had a private outdoor bath. We were actually on the fourth floor. The tap to the outdoor bath would not turn off and was continuously dripping. It was outside so didn't bother us but should have been obvious to staff. Likewise the cladding on one wall was coming off and the tiny garden was scruffy and full of dead leaves. This was disappointing and not up to the standard of other onsen we have stayed at previously. The room however were spotless. All the staff were very good, from check in, to the tea servers, the waiters and breakfast room attendants. The ladies got to choose the colour of the kimono they would wear for the evening, which was a nice touch. The Kaiseki meal was served in the restaurant which had bamboo blinds separating the various tables. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and thought the waiter did an excellent job juggling the tables. The wine was reasonably priced. The breakfast was buffet style and had an enormous choice. Sadly we had to catch an early complimentary shuttle to the station so we just had a quick breakfast, and truthfully we were still full from the meal the night before. We did not partake in the free ice cream or public onsen so can't comment here. The small gift shop was adequate but lacking in nice little souvenirs of the area. So all in all we had a good experience.

If you like hot springs, this should be a good choice. The hotel is good in all aspects, the service is very good, and the hotel hardware is also good. The hotel has its own hot springs. There is a Meiji-era hot spring outside the door that seems to be quite good. It is free for hotel guests. Yes, the price includes breakfast and dinner. The quality is very good. After staying for two days, I felt that I was full after the second meal. If you don’t like hot springs, it is suitable to experience a Japanese-style hotel. We don’t like hot springs. After staying for two nights, I felt like I had nothing to do 😂 😂 😂

It was a satisfying inn in terms of rooms, hot springs, meals, customer service, cleanliness, etc. In particular, the hot springs have a moist quality that feels like a lotion, and I took the open-air baths in the guest rooms many times. There wasn't anything special about the meal, but I was able to slowly eat warm food in the room, and all of them were delicious. Mr. Nakai's personality was good, and I was able to talk happily, and he was able to deal with allergies that I had told him in advance. It was good that I could move barefoot inside the inn without slippers. Also, I was grateful that the check-in time was 13:00 and I was able to stay until 12:00 the next day, so I was able to relax very slowly. Yamashiro Onsen itself is a small hot spring town, but this inn was a very comfortable time and space.

Clean and stylish rooms that are thoroughly cleaned, staff members who are attentive while maintaining a safe distance from each other, and beautiful and delicious kaiseki cuisine made with the master chef's taste.Always clean. The large public bath and open-air bath are well-equipped with towels and supplies. I enjoyed my first a la carte kaiseki meal and chose the menu, and the seasoning and presentation were perfect. Also, my husband is Italian, but he's not used to having rice, miso soup, and fish in the morning, so I asked him if he could switch to a Western breakfast if possible, and he kindly agreed. I had a Japanese breakfast on the first day, but my husband's Western breakfast was also very appealing, so I asked him the day before if I could have a Western breakfast on the second day, even though I knew it would be impossible. I was able to enjoy a Japanese breakfast on the first day and a Western breakfast on the second day. Not only were the colors and presentation of the ingredients beautiful, but everything I ate was truly delicious. Everything was perfect. thank you very much.

When I was looking for a hot spring resort that was easy to get to from Kanazawa Station, I found out that I could get there by direct bus at a reasonable price, and visited Yamanaka Onsen. The hot water was good and the inn here was comfortable, so I will visit again. Please note that if you use the bus, it is a little far from the bus stop. However, if you stroll around town slowly, you will arrive in less than 10 minutes. This inn has a homey atmosphere with the employees working hard. In particular, there were several people who helped me during the evening and breakfast that I will never forget. .. Some people may think that it is something different when they imagine sophisticated hospitality like a super luxury ryokan, but I think that ryokan's selling point is human hospitality. For those who want to raise the grade, Kissho Yamanaka may be better. By the way, the hot springs are hot and the open-air bath is just right even in winter. The women's bath has an open-air bath and an open-air bath. The open-air bath is a little deep, so it may be dangerous for small children to enter. There are two private baths. Change in 45 minutes. I think that there is a certain difference in the contents of the dinner plan (perhaps this is the difference in the price). If you don't have it, you may want to focus on meat...Breakfast is heavy, partly buffet type. If you stay consecutive nights, they will take care of your meals. enough. The size and contents of the rooms vary, so if you have any concerns, it may be a good idea to consult with us. The view from the room also faces the scenic spot. I gave it a 4 because there was a slight mistake, but it's within the range of no problems. It became an inn that I want to visit again.

The room was very clean and close to Kanazawa Station. I was traveling alone and booked as a single person, but it was a sufficient environment for a room without meals. The people at the front desk were also kind.
