My experience at Hotel Damier was horrible. While the rooms were dated but acceptable, my stay was ruined by an infestation of mosquitoes. On the first evening, I was attacked relentlessly. The next evening, I approached the reception to request a room change, only to be met with amusement and the information that no other rooms were available. Instead, the receptionist handed me a bottle of insect spray and wished me luck. Unfortunately, the spray had little impact, and I was "eaten alive" once again, leaving me covered in bites, resembling a weird dalmatian. When I returned the spray, I mentioned its ineffectiveness. The receptionist casually mentioned that it had worked for other customers, indicating that this is a recurring problem at the hotel. I would not stay at Hotel Damier again.

Very nice hotel with rich history. Even Lady Thatcher once stayed here. The breakfast was very extensive with fried eggs made how you prefer them. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Definitely recommended!

The rooms without a thermostat, without hangers/wardrobe, without coffee/tea for EUR 195.00 per night is simply too much. I just loved this hotel! The rich history, the staff, the food... We stayed in the executive rooms with a walk-in shower. Our other family members stayed in the historic part. So the hotel has different kind of room types which is good. Try the new brunch/lunch restaurant Sprezzatura. The food is trendy and delicious. Staff are very helpful. I strongly recommend this hotel.
