Hotels near Kostas Cat Square, Kos

Just returned from a week away at this lovely hotel. Spacious room on the first floor with a partial view of the sea and Marina. The room was huge and plenty of wardrobe space. Balcony small but enough for the two of us. Cleaners came in every day. Pool area lovely and clean. Only negative is selfish people putting towels on sun beds then not returning for hours. We did not struggle for a bed but presume in July/Aug this would be an issue. Says more about holidaymakers rather than the hotel. Breakfast very good with an array of options The staff were exceptional , the girls round the pool never stopped. I had the best cocktails on the whole holiday at the pool bar. Visited the rooftop bar in the evenings for the sunset. Stylish and contemporary with great views. Not one rude member of staff so again if any other reviews state this I would assume the attitude of the holidaymaker may be the problem. Short walk into Kos Town and bus stop outside. We hired a car through reception which was delivered to us. Excellent service. Would definitely return to this place.

In desperate need of a shuttle bus We were excited to stay here given the glowing reviews so firstly I’ll list the good. On arrival you couldn’t ask for a warmer welcome, the hotel is beautifully decorated and has an abundance of stylish furniture, pretty pool area and all you’d expect from a well run hotel. Breakfast was served from 7:30 - 10.30am with a really good selection, I had smoked salmon and eggs most mornings. All the food we had was lovely, especially the tuna poke bowl & Chicken club sandwich served with VERY good chips. Pool & sunbed area was beautiful, with huge double beds that were extremely comfortable to lie on. Hotel staff would often come around the pool area offer guests a small gift like an ice cream or fruity shot. We stayed in room 102 with a small pool in the patio area. Our first nights stay didn’t come without issues, pillows supplied were all huge, I’ve never understood why a hotel wouldn’t ‘as standard’ give one big pillow and one flatter one. Secondly our mattress was so soft we were falling into it and off the sides. Given that the bed is probably the most important element we were very uncomfortable - even after a topper was installed. We spoke to a few other guests whom all felt the same. Although we realise this is down to personal preference. The biggest issue we found was the lack of a shuttle bus. There is a huge shortage of taxis on the island, any other good establishments we’ve stayed at have offered a free shuttle service to the nearby bars and restaurants, even if it’s only one an hour. The windy 20/30 minute walk down is very baron so offering guests the option to book a place in a small minibus that went from say 6pm and stopped at 10pm would be the icing on the cake as they seem to have every other avenue covered. Staff are BRILLIANT! Hotel is IMMACULATE and the food we tried was EXCELLENT….. :)

Beautiful , well kept and clean. Tranquil, relaxing environment. Nice spacious pool area where always was space despite hotel was full. Great pool Bar with very friendly and professional service by Patelis - you always felt welcome. Food served delicious basics , large proportions. Hotel rooms very tidy, cleaned daily and lovely soft towels also replaced. Self controlled airconditioning and fridge in the rooms made stay very pleasant together with good beds and pillows. Terrace facing to well kept garden was great plus. Staff was friendly and even the cats staying in the area behaved well and highlighted the overall nice athmosphere. Good beaches , especially Happy Flamingo, and choice of restaurants within walking distance. I will come back!

The price was very good for the apartment which had 2 bedrooms a kitchenette with fridge and kettle but no cooking facilities which suited us very well . cereal and fruit is all we needed for breakfast and then eat out for evening meal. A bathroom with shower. Towels changes every couple of days. Maid service every day emptying bins and tidying bed. which were changed twice during our 10 day stay. No Tv available and no seating area or lounge just the 2 bedrooms. We had a big balcony with sun from morning till night which was wonderful although not private as you could see all the other guests on theirs.Good English breakfast available which we enjoyed. Snacks throughout the day. Only 5 minutes walk down to the beach where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. It was fairly quiet coming to the end of the season but open everywhere. Staff at Origin very friendly especially Tigga who, worth her weight in gold,. was amazing always there to greet and have a chat. Everywhere was clean. The pool was appreciated and sunbeds always available, cold yes but i loved it. Aircon on was an extra cost but we didn't use it. It's on a main road so can be quite noisy if balcony doors are kept open. Payment for safe was not refunded it was a one off payment . Masks were only necessary when going into shops but staff had to wear them most of the time. Hand sanitizer available everywhere and encouraged. Felt very safe re Coronavirus precautions and preparations. All in all Origin is a fun place to stay great location great price so would probably return there again if returning to Kardamena.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Grand Blue. It was the first stop on the coach transfer only being approx a 10/15 min journey. Hotel staff were lovely, super helpful and welcoming. The entertainment was great, highly recommend ‘The Legends’. Rooms were huge with great facilities, I didn’t pay for a sea view room but we got one and the view was gorgeous. Only downfall was the food - like massively. The selection was always really random and mostly just chips, pasta and random bits of meat. I heard other guests complaining about the food too. If you are vegetarian / pescatarian you will literally be living off chips and salad, maybe some fish. We were all inclusive but i wouldn’t recommend it. The drink selection was rubbish and the cocktails all tasted the same - watered down sugar. The bar snacks weren’t great either - just thick doughy pastries with bits of meat or spinach inside but, again, if you are veggie they aren’t labelled and the staff didn’t seem to know what was inside them themselves. I would highly recommend the hotel itself for the location, but rooms and staff. But save yourself the money and go room only / b&b if they have the option because there are plenty of restaurants and bars a 10 min walk down the beach in Kardamena. Worth noting the beds were rock solid too and our room didnt get cleaned one day out of the 4.

Fabulous beach front location. Great grounds with beach, lawn, busy pool, quiet pool - something for everyone. Food varied and tasty. A watch out: if you are offered rooms 600+, you will be in the Residence part of the hotel - inland/have to cross a road to get there. Not all bad though as it has its own pool and bar with a lot less crowds. You will end up walking a lot though - which we didn’t mind, but others might. Not sure why the hotel restricts a la carte restaurants to once per stay instead of once per week. It was very empty when we went. Italian food was not that much better than main restaurant so you are not massively missing out. Store merchandise was very expensive, but not sure if this would be same across all hotels. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.
