We drove to Mount Kinabalu for 2 nights stay at the 1) Peak Lodge 1 & 2 , 2) Summit Lodge & 3) Garden Lodge. The accomodations are comfortable, niece ambience with fire place ,has slow or no wifi connection at all. Some improvement needed in Housekeeping cleaning. Shower room in Summit Lodge flooding as the floor trap was filled with dirt & hair. Shower room wall tiles are dirty. Awesome view of the Mount Kinabalu from our Lodges. Breakfast is at Liwagu Restaurant , it serves Asian Buffet. Dinner is Ala-Carte , food and service are good. For activities , around the Park , we make visit to the Botanical Garden and Poring Hot Spring and make a further drive down to Desa Dairy Farm at Kundasang. All in all it was a relaxing stay !!

Every room has balcony 😊 Don’t: No electricity upon arrival Bed linen were filled with dust, small small dead bugs. Quite old, can hear from downstairs footsteps, shower, television voice, people talking. Common: The road to Nikgold quite challenging ( as common as other areas in Kundasang, so it wasnt a big deal) No phone line, they do provide WiFi which is excellent Overall it was a pleasant stay. Thank you for the hospitality Recommend for big family.

My partner and I really like this place very spacious room,bed is good but the ac is not that cold and some of the inside room structure really needed attention to be repaired,such as the bathroom some of the lights didn't work inside the room but the room got good window and the view in the morning is nice located at very quiet part of the town parking for car is a lot and convinient hotel also close to many convinient store around receptionist is very professional attending customer and friendly check in instructions are very clear and easy will look forward for future stay.

Nice place. I had a very pleasant stay. Staff are very helpful. The room was big enough and good for stay. The breakfast provided so simple but delicious. The accommodation very near to the usukan beach as a few steps only. Beautiful beach especially during high tide and it will be a very nice family gathering at Usukan Cove Lodge. Overall we had a very nice and good stay at there. Will come again soon.

We spent the last 3 days of our trip around Malaysia in Nathasia’s place and it was the best possible choice! We managed to properly relax. Houses are located on the beautiful, clean beach. The beach is not easily accessible, that’s why we were transported there by the boat. It is a huge advantage as the beach is basically private. Accommodation is clean and tidy. The best parts are a terrace with external bed from which you can watch the sunset, as well as the external bathroom with beautiful flowers and the shower rain head for refreshing showers during the day. There is a lot of equipment available for guests including canoe, bamboo float and the snorkelling masks. Hosts are extremely nice, helpful and carrying. The made us feel almost like a royal family :) They helped us organize our time during the stay. They even took us for a great trip to the nearby town for an amazing dinner, which was a great experience. All the staff on the site are very nice and helpful. In the end, I have to mention food… It's DELICIOUS! The best food we had during our trip. The cook treated us every day with a variety of traditional cuisine – we all agreed that he served us the best prawns we EVER had. Summarizing, I would truly, highly recommend visiting this place. Our family of 5 stayed at BigFin for 2 nights recently towards the end of our trip to Sabah. We were very happy with our stay. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer :) Location of the resort is remote and idyllic. It is a small resort set on a beautiful beach, and is completely surrounded by nature. The rooms are on a small hill up from the beach. From outside our room we had a lovely view of the beach, the rolling rainforest hills, and Mt. Kinabalu in the distance. We spent our time walking and dipping in the water on the beach, did a little hiking, went out on kayaks and paddle boards, did some great snorkeling, and spent some time chilling in the hammocks. Really beautiful sunsets on the beach. If you go out snorkeling, remember to stop at the white platform. Food is included, and it was tasty. Dinner was rice, chicken, and two vegetables. Lunch was noodles and fried rice. Breakfast was eggs and toast or pancakes, which were very good. Beware of their home-made hot sauces :) The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the resort is well maintained. Each room has hammocks outside that are really inviting. No A/C, but the room fan was very comfortable at night. The room gets hot during the day, but that's when we were either out or chilling in the hammocks :) They run generators for power from 5-11pm. We enjoyed chatting with Awie, the chef and manager. The owner, Ella, was working hard with her staff, taking care of the place. All of the staff were very pleasant and friendly. It does take some effort to get there, but if you're looking for R&R in a beautiful beach and nature setting, I'd certainly recommend BigFin. Some logistical notes: 1. We had a rental car, and parking was provided at the boat pick up point. 2. There is no boat pier at the pick up or drop off point. You get on & off the boat in shallow beach water, so dress and pack accordingly. 3. The last stretch of road to get there is unpaved and narrow. We had no problem in our small rental car.

The first overseas hotel evaluation, dedicated to Dolphin Island Resort🐬 I promised my children to take them abroad once before they go to elementary school, and I can’t break my promise. I chose Kota Kinabalu as the destination, and I can watch the sea, dig sand, snorkel and watch fish, which my children love. When choosing a hotel, I chose a phobia outbreak. I hesitated for a long time. I trusted my intuition and chose this hotel. The fact is that it is really delicious! highly recommended! After the reservation, the staff contacted me and added WeChat, and the various precautions were very clear. After check-in, every staff member is very nice, it can be said that they are responsive to every request. Eat, live and play in a few days, everything is quite satisfactory. There is a local lady named Snowman among the staff who can speak Chinese! There is also a handsome guy who can't speak Chinese, that's the one in picture 2. He is very careful with the children, and he keeps teaching our babies to swim and snorkel, which is touching... There are performances at night, which are very lively. When leaving, the child said that he would like to come here next time.

On our way to Cabana Retreat, we saw a couple of cows at the roadside. Since I wanted to take some photos, my friend made a U-turn so that I could capture a few. One cow was a shade of white & it looked quite tame & docile. The road leading to our retreat was very quiet. We hardly saw any cars & passed a jetty signboard. We arrived at 3:00 pm & managed to park our rented car near the Resort’s entrance. I went straight to the Front desk to check-in & to get our keys to our quad-tent. Thankfully, our quad-tent was located near to the common bathroom. We had chosen a quad-tent because the 4 of us wanted to have a glamping experience together. Unfortunately, one friend had to leave. Thus, there was 1 empty mattress on a wooden pallet which we had used to put all our food. Although the quad-tent was compact, it came equipped with an air-cooler, a standing fan, a small wooden table & chair, a wicker basket that was used as a wastepaper basket, a long mirror & a small area to hang our clothes. There was also a steel shoe rack. Throw pillows were given on each bed. The sheets & blankets were of hotel quality while the mattress was comfortable enough though I could still feel the wooden pallets underneath it all. The material covering our tents was of high quality too & we had double tent zippers for safety & protection. Our 2-day package came with free activities on the beach. Unfortunately, the staff was not available to teach us to handle the paddleboat. Hence, we had to forgo the non-motorised activities. My 2 friends decided to rest in the tent but I decided to walk on the beach. Strangely enough, I saw many cows on the beach! They were going for the waves. As it was starting to drizzle, I left the beach & headed back to the tent. Our package also included a Firefly experience on our 1st night. However, we had to drive to the jetty ourselves. When we arrived, we mentioned the name of our Hotel & were given admittance into the boat. The host, a middle-aged man told us to be quiet while he summoned the fireflies to our direction. It was such an awesome magical experience when the fireflies started appearing before your very eyes. Even if it’s not in the package, please make sure that you go for this activity. The next morning, we had breakfast at the Coffee House as it was included in the package. We were given a selection to choose from, either American or local meals. They were freshly made & tasty. The scenery was of the beach. There were also a few swings for guests to enjoy on underneath a roof. Outdoor tables, chairs & benches were provided on the beach where guests could enjoy their breakfast with the sand underneath their feet. There were many cats & dogs around the vicinity. Most probably they were strays. We saw a rooster trying to chase away a mangy dog. Throughout our stay, we would buy some food & feed the cats, dogs & rooster. In short, all meals – breakfast, lunch & dinner were at the Coffee House. We didn’t feel a need to

Fabulous resort with excellent water quality and beach. Plenty of personal space. Boat transfer extremely disorganised - changed multiple times via email and it was still wrong plus delayed. Definitely stay for more than 1 night, as you only arrive at the island around 4pm, and need to check out around noon with boat departing by 1pm Some of the paid activities weren’t available, which was a shame. Prices for paid activities very reasonable.

Personally, I feel that it is quite cost-effective. I bought a package on Ctrip, which includes boat tickets, bus tickets, lunch, dinner, and breakfast. The only difference is that the time is a bit short. It would be better to stay for two nights. We only stayed for one night. Because the journey takes a long time, and there are many things to do in Mermaid Island. No lunch is provided after getting off the boat the next day, but you can buy lunch at the pier or bring some bread and biscuits, because it is still a two-hour drive to the Jesselton Pier in the city. I learned that there are some other activities at the pier, one is Floating Dream Island, which is similar to a sea amusement park where boys and girls rush forward, and the other is an air capsule hotel. My children are more interested in both, but there is no time, so I can only experience it next time. I recommend it to friends in need, see the picture.
