By nature of where the Nullagvik is, there won't be many reviews, but we wanted to just share a bit about our two nights up there just last week. We suspect it may be the only hotel in town, at least the locals we met referred to it that way, but it had everything we needed to make our time in Kotzebue go just great. We were able to walk there from the airstrip, and it was very convenient to walk from there just about anywhere else we wanted to go to in town, although we did see a lot of folks taking taxis around. Our room was fantastic with lots of space to spread out, and a view of the ocean, right above the walking path. Yes, there is challenging cell service, although one of us had ATT and there is a giant dish and tower right next to the hotel. We ate two dinners and a lunch in the downstairs restaurant, and the food was tasty, but it is important to acknowledge the challenges inherent in getting food products into town. Some things either won't be available, will run out, or may not be fresh off the vine, but we were pleased with all our choices. Also, we really appreciated all the measures the staff were taking to keep the hotel tidy, the common areas clean, and the various walkways, stairs and entrances clean and open. If you are coming to Kotzebue, you are likely either coming for work, to hunt/fish or to see the National Parks, and not coming to have a spa-like vacation. We thought the Nullagvik was just what we needed and were grateful to have it as our home during our visit!
