Escape to a totally immersive safari experience with the creature comforts of gorgeous glamping. The vistas will allow you to disconnect from the city scenery! Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff enhance the charm. Enjoy the welcome surprise of a warm water bottle under the blankets in the evening.

Had a fantastic 4 night stay at the Ashnil Mara camp. Had tent number 4 backing onto the river, being able to listen to the hippos was a magical moment. The food was excellent throughout our stay with good choice & quality of food. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, Moses looked after us in the dining area & couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you for an unforgettable trip!

If you are looking for an experience in the stay within the forest, but also not compromising on the hotel luxury this is the place to be! We were here with family, for 3 nights and 4 days. We stayed in the tented accommodation. First for all the great things - The staff is super courteous which was our experience all across kenya! The views from the hotel are amazing, as it is right beside the Mara river and all day and night you can hear the hippos and watch the beautiful sun rise and set.. The hotel is equipped with a pool and bar and restaurants, the rooms also have full view of the wilderness, through the camp tent. Sitting on the porch and enjoying your coffee was an experience in itself! The food at the restaurant is tasty and freshly made. You have Pasta section, salad section and Indian section at every meal. So enough options for vegetarians as well. The common area is buzzing with activities. They have tea coffee section int he early mornings, and evenings for the safari goers! Their packed lunch and breakfast is also more than sufficient for the a single person. They provide hot water bags in the night, and that was the most comforting after the long drives of the safari through the day. The tents are a mix of old ones and refurbished ones, the old ones are a bit dilapidated, and you can see the difference. We were a family of 4, and we were given 2 tents to stay and we could see the difference clearly.. I wish we could have been accommodated in the same tent together, as we had to walk up and down multiple times, and was a bit inconvenient in the nights, where you can see water bucks walking around the tents.. The kids were a bit scared to stay alone :) Overall a wonderful stay! and I wish to come back to the property again! Do maintaint he upkeep of the place, and I hope all of the tents are refurbished and ready to welcome us again1

We stayed at the Ashnil Mara Camp in early June, on arrival we were given a beautiful Tent that had just been refurbished, it was just stunning, we had a lovely balcony where we saw Crocodiles and Hippos, you could hear the Hippos throughout the day, the grounds were just perfect. The staff were so kind and friendly, Amos looked after us in the restaurant, he was just brilliant, we always had a laugh with him and he couldn't enough for us, an absolute credit to the Camp, the Restaurant Manager would always come across for a chat as well and ask us if we'd enjoyed the food, which we did, it was excellent. Our experience in the Masai Mara was just unbelievable, and when we return will definitely be coming back to stay at the Ashnil Mara Camp.

This was the 4th of the 5th hotels on our Kenya trip and was a little bit mixed. The upsides to this hotel were a lovely restaurant, hippos and swimming pool and the location in the Mara was amazing being close to the river, the Tanzanian border and we saw several game from within a 20 min drive The setting over there is really beautiful and the hotel is huge (about 10 mins walk from reception to the tents) and the river is spectacular -with crocs and hippos at a close (but safe) distance! The food was and impressive buffet, there was really good Masai entertainment and a lovely fire pit in the main area The less positive areas were the rooms; we initially had garden facing rooms and these bordered on oppressively dark with very little view of anything. When we complained that ours and the kids rooms were very far apart we did get a partial river view which was far more enjoyable The service from Chris, the main maitre’d was excellent but the rest of the servers were less enthusiastic (it was ok just not exceptional) The river walk with our guide was really exciting and felt really close to nature but be aware it is about 90 mins of rough terrain from the main gate to the hotel (if you have already driven a long way this makes it a very long drive with no toilets-we had kids so this was a consideration we didn’t appreciate) Overall, if you can guarantee a river view please go if not, maybe have a look at whether the upsides are worthwhile

This was my second visit to this camp. Mainly because I enjoyed the first visit. Unfortunately, I had issues. I have mobility challenges and had email before my arrival for a tent close to reception. I was using a walking stick, and my leg was strapped. However, we were given a garden tent, which was a fair way from reception and over very uneven ground/pathway. At the tent, there were several steps to the door. Also, the tent wasn't ready, problems with the electrics and the external furniture was not ready. I was upset at this point I was in a lot of pain. One of the staff asked what the problem was and after explaining I couldn't manage, his reply was "get a wheelchair". Rude, offensive and unhelpful. I brought my concerns to a manager who assured me that we would be moved to a different "very nice" tent in the morning. I left it there. However, we did not eat that evening as I couldn't make the walk to the dining room. The next day, I experienced some frostiness from the staff who were aware of what had transpired. Even those staff who were friendly and remembered us from last year were somewhat cool. We were moved to a tent which was fine but had no river views. I was aware of the high volume of rain and was informed riverbank tents were not being used. How is it possible, then, that i spoke to several different people who were in river bank tents. I will tolerate many things but being lied to is a step too far. The camp is quite large with a pool, restaurant, lounge area, bar, shop and reception. Tents are very large and well equipped with very good toiletries and terraces/balconies. Food is buffet style with good choices. Pool is OK but does need some renovation. Apart from the lush and well kept landscape, there are signs of age and neglect. They are renovating tents and that is a good start but there needs to be awareness of areas visible to guests such as broken tables, dumped, in view of diners.

Very nice camp in the heart of the Mara. We booked directly with Ashnil and did not regret it. Our driver Ezekiel was excellent and always willing to go the extra mile. The staff was extremely attentive (almost too attentive). Good game viewing close to camp and the sound of hippos overnight. Food was ok but not great.
