The resort is right on the beach, and has a nice bar for chilling as the sun sets, with good cocktails. Would definitely recommend. Only minor issue was that the towels were quite old and stained. Suggest bringing your own.

Booked 6 nights and left after 2. No pool, that was known, but no loungers or parasols by the sea. It was very difficult to swim on the beach or by the sea as it was full of stones. The drain in the bathroom stank horribly. No one at reception bothered to ask why we were leaving early.

You need to take a boat to get to the hotel. There is a local street near the hotel where you can eat and drink. There are a lot of things to pick up on the beach at night😉😏 Please note that you can't go there on foot

The room is not big Facilities: The air conditioner is too old so it is very noisy. There is no swimming pool. Environment: Surrounded by coconut groves and beaches Service: The service staff is very friendly This hotel is on the beach and you need to take a boat from Ao Nang Beach.

We liked the hotel, clean and tidy. Located in a very quiet place, next to a beautiful mountain. The only negative is access to the beaches of Railay, through a small mountain.

Beautiful but must take long boat to get there! Very modern and lovely rooms/cottages. Staff very nice. Close to climbing and fun beach bar and kayaking. It's a little tricky to get here. You have to take a long boat from the Ao Nang area to Railay beach and then go to Tonsai Bay from there.

Such a comfortable room, such kind and attentive helpful friendly staff, such a gorgeous setting, such delicious breakfast. Beautiful grounds and the best atmosphere and vibe. I was going to stay a single night and ended up staying a week. Can’t wait to come back!

I have stayed at Tonsai Bay Bungalows for 2nd time as there is not much choice if you like to have 24hr electricity in Tonsai. I have spent 30 winters in Tonsai and stayed for most of the time in bungalows a fraction of the price but where the price matched the facilities. At Tonsai Bay, though, the rooms in their “hotel building” can cost between €20 to €100 a night depending on season or holidays like Chinese New Year. However, the rooms are very basic: no decoration, just a bed with nightstands, a place to hang your clothes, a fridge and a tv. No kettle, no coffee/tea, no hairdryer. The wifi works fine but you have to get wifi vouchers (one per device) which last only fora few days. There is no desk or chairin the room. The bathroom has no separate shower (no shower curtain either) and the entire room gets wet. The balcony was never cleaned. As I stayed for a month I only asked to get my room cleaned every 4-5 days: it was then only basically swept and a new towel laid out. The surfaces of the furniture were not dusted/cleaned, the toiletries in the bathroom not once refilled. My bed linen was changed once in the 4 weeks. Staff at the reception barely said Hallo when not addressed directly. The entire building (interior/exterior) has aged and has not been renovated for years. It’s sad that the demand is setting the price so high and there is no real competition in Tonsai.

We enjoyed our stay at Tonsai. The location is stunning, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. If you are a climber this is the place for you.
