Charming Boutique Design & Atmosphere The hotel features a vintage/colonial Malay–Chinese (Peranakan) style with distinctive decorative and furniture details. Many guests appreciate the beautiful and “Instagrammable” interior design and room decor. 3. Decent Rooms & Good Value for Money While it’s not a luxury hotel, most guests feel that for the location and price, it’s a great choice. For example, the “Superior King” room starts from around RM190+ during normal seasons. This used to be my favourite hotel for business trips, but sadly, it’s no longer well maintained. The floor was dirty, and the mosaic tiles in the bathroom had turned yellow. The bed I slept on smelled damp, as if the bedsheet wasn’t fully dried — very uncomfortable. The bedroom floor was also not clean. I really hope Payang management will look into these issues and bring the hotel back to its previous standards.

The hotel is definitely Instagrammable, the design and aesthetic are really nice, and it photographs well. Location-wise, it's also hard to beat. It's super convenient and close to everything, which made getting around really easy. However, I wouldn't recommend staying here based on the customer service. The staff were not friendly or welcoming at all, and they weren’t helpful when I had questions or needed assistance. For a place that puts so much effort into appearances, they really need to improve their customer service to match the experience they’re trying to offer. If they can work on that, it could be a great place to stay, but for now, looks aren’t everything. Would not come back, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless all you care about is the look and location.

Just stay for 1 night. Nice hotel, just few steps from Payang Market

The room is clean and the bed is comfy. I saw a lot of comment that the room is quite small thus we book Deluxe Queen room so got plenty of spaces. I love the way they decorated the room despite it’s spaces. Most importantly is that it’s just beside Pasar Payang which is my main purpose of booking it there. Only 1 downside is the air conditioning cannot be properly control and it’s quite hot. We already adjusted the temperature to 16 as minimum but it’s not that cold.
