The view is stunning and peace. Breakfast selected choice is okay, unfortunately the dinner food not hot enough. Hope to improve.

It is located inside a village, is a perfect spot for a staycation. The resort is next to the sea, but the rooms have no sea view. Despite this, the resort environment is excellent. I love the layout, very calm, and charming. Service was good as well.

It was my first time checked-in at The Village House. Friendly service. The staff welcomed us with a smile and guide us all the way from check in to our room. We personally loved the nature and out of town stress free environment - The Village House it is! Food was great & my overall rating for The Village House - 10/10. Very recommended place for short getaway during weekends and holidays.

2nd stay in Sarawak This time I chose Santubong because I had just finished hiking on Mount Santubong and confirmed that I was not ready to go far, so I decided to find a nearby area to relax. You really can't choose the wrong hotel because it's perfect for relaxing after a long day of hiking. 🛖Hotel - located in santubong village, jalan beach puteri - check in on March 11, 2022 -booking on trip.com rm328 with breakfast and dinner - this hotel has been operating for 15 years - we arrived at 4pm, when we got to the closed gate, it was quiet, a bit confused, right? It's the location, right? 😅, try to keep the autogate open and be greeted by a very friendly staff. -the entrance door is like in Bali, I have already got the first impression of the best hotel with a view of Mount Santubong, which is very handsome - the check-in process is quick, given an explanation of the check-out time at 11am, for dinner you have to choose the menu and the time you want to eat through the goggle web application. The gate will be closed at 10pm, so the car is parked outside, but there is a small door to enter the hotel. - Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to stay here. - here there are dorm-type rooms and cheaper for backpackers 🛖Room - all the rooms are on the top floor, so you have to hike up the stairs again, your legs are already hard going up Mount Santubong 😂. -shoes are not allowed to be brought into the room, they have to be left outside 😀 - even food is not allowed in the room. The staff is afraid of lizards coming 😂 - the room that was booked is a village double room type, the area of the room is very large, 20m2, but there is still room for praying. - spacious bathroom -cleanliness 9/10 - the room is very turn on lawa - suitable for honeymoon. - one drawback is that the room is quite hot even though there is an air conditioner and a fan, because the wall is zinc. But the night is cold. - the room has no TV, no kettle, no tea or coffee, you have to go to a cafe to drink. - when you enter the room, there is a pandan smell like a hotel in Bali. 🛖convenience -car parking is available but limited and the space is too small for big cars, as we rode Axia so there is no problem trying to fit in 😀 -swimming pool, 1.5m deep, open from 7am-7pm, limited to 5 people in the pool, SOP - there are 2 bicycles that can patrol the village area -close to the beach, so in the evening you can watch the sunset by walking distance 🛖Dinner & Breakfast -His food is the best and delicious even if it's ala carte. -Dinner like a candle light dinner ❤️, there is an appetizer, main course and desert (we ordered mushroom soup, salad, spaghetti olio, fish n chips, banana split, Sarawak layer cake with ice cream, watermelon juice, fresh orange juice, latte, long black) -breakfast plak order fried vermicelli, pan cake - I think it's worth it bro for the price paid with dinner service and bfast. 🛖 Value for money - it's really worth it from all aspects -recommended for honeymoon -hope it's useful

We had the most wonderful stay at the Village House! The beds were so comfortable, the room was really clean, the staff were so nice, and the pool was wonderful. We had a wonderful time spending our evenings relaxing by the pool and the staff at the Village House helped arrange rides for us wherever we needed to go. The driver they work with is very informative and friendly. I would absolutely stay here again and I encourage you to stay here as well!

Our recent stay at the Village House left much to be desired. While the property boasted style and charm, it sorely lacked substance. Despite its hefty price tag, the overall experience fell wellshort of expectations. The first impression was promising. The swimming pool and surrounding grounds were undeniably beautiful, offering a serene escape. However, this moment of satisfaction quickly gave way to disappointment upon entering the room. The musty odor and noticeable mold were immediate red flags, indicating subpar cleanliness standards. Despite the hotel's claim of being cleaned twice daily, the reality fell short of expectations. The food was nothing short of atrocious, failing to deliver on even the most basic expectations. It was evident that little care or attention was given to the quality of the meals served. While Mr. 'Handsome' stood out for his friendly demeanour and genuine hospitality, the remainder of the staff lacked competence. Considering the exorbitant price tag for Borneo, one would expect a level of excellence that simply was not delivered. In our opinion, this hotel should be priced at most at $25 a night. Our decision to book this hotel as a last-minute alternative to Bako National Park was regrettable. It failed to offer the respite and comfort we had been seeking. We stayed across 10 hotels during our 3 weeks in Malaysia and this hotel is the sole recipient of less than a 4-star rating. . I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to fellow travellers. Choose wisely and avoid disappointment by staying elsewhere.
Response from Property: We thank you for your night’s stay with us as an alternative to your original plan of visiting Bako National Park. Your feedback on our property and services which is quite contrary to those of our previous other guests’ have prompted an ongoing investigation on our failure to meet with your expectations. As we attempt to elevate the capacity of our team of local crew members to the highest standards, we acknowledge that there may be shortcomings and accept your criticisms fully. We hope to learn from your adverse review of us and will strive to do better to ensure the best experiences for all our much valued guests always. Thank you once again for staying with us and providing insights on your personal view points for our continued improvements. The Village House Management & Team

I had an excellent experience staying at The Village House and would 100% recommend. I stayed for 2 nights in the 6 bed dormitory. The room was very clean, the swimming pool was excellent and it had very nice sunbathing chairs & beds around it. During my stay I got breakfast & 3 course dinner included and the food was excellent, delicious local food. Thank you very much for a great experience!

Most of the most serene and peaceful places I have ever visited. You really do enter another world when you go through the doors of this finely designed establishment. Staff were incredibly lovely and helpful. Everything was kept clean and well maintained on a daily basis. Food was the only thing that could have been improved.

We spent some 4 fantastic days at this location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Despite our early departure at 4 am due to early flight from Kuching they provided us with nice sandwiches. The surrounding is very peaceful and quiet. However the cleanliness in the Kampung Santubong ( not in the location) could be improved.

This is a superb place for a vacation in Borneo, it’s beautiful secluded and the staff go above and beyond! They also helped us organise some fantastic trips . We recommend the Sarawak Cultural Village and the Baku National Park Stunning! Cannot recommend the Village House enough a must stay if you’re going to Borneo!
