Hotel views of mountain is good, rooms were cleaned. Only problem was we were all 60s so rooms given to us was way below the slope where we have to climb the stairs was quite steep. Tv reception was bad. Good for young couples.

The room was clean and the hot water was not too hot. But it is very close to the entrance of Mount Kinabalu, so it is very suitable for those who climb the mountain to stay for one night.

My stay in the deluxe room was quite pleasant. The bed was exceptionally cozy, and the duvet ensured a restful night's sleep. The room itself was characterized by its simplicity, modernity, and cleanliness. The staff members were also notably helpful and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.

We were craving a break from the daily grind, so we planned a midweek getaway. Booking was a breeze, and upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of our bedroom, complete with a private bathroom and balcony. The bed was super comfy, ensuring a restful night's sleep despite the proximity to a main road. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout most of the hotel, which was a plus. Overall, it was a satisfying stay.

Ayana truly stands out as one of the finest accommodations in Kundasang. The rooms are impeccably maintained and offer breathtaking views. The staff went above and beyond, graciously assisting us with our luggage. They were very friendly and kind. Overall, our stay was exceptional, and we eagerly anticipate returning in the future.

We enjoyed staying at Ayana. Hotel is located in peaceful and serene atmosphere. Nestled within the nature allowed us to feel the inner peace. It’s 4 minutes walk to the nearest restaurant and 4 minutes drive to the national park. The reception service was great. Very helpful.

Lovely set-up near the national park. Customer service is great with fast check-ins; free hassle. We stayed for 2 nights. We had hot water issue during our previous stay and now it is fixed. Great stay...this is my 2nd visit here..small cafe available nearby and they have good food and cheap. Location is near to Mount Kinabalu National Park and 15 minutes' drive to the nearest township for restock.

In over thirty years of international travel, mostly budget and semi-budget, this is only the second bad review I have written. At AUD45 per night we found the following. The room was small but spotlessly clean. It had a pretty private balcony with an attractive view. The tiny en-suite bathroom (combined shower/toilet) was clean. That’s the end of the good stuff. The furniture consisted of one rock-hard double bed. That’s it. Along the wall at the foot of the bed was a built-in shelf upon which was a kettle and two ceramic mugs. That’s it. No chair, table, bedside tables, coffee powder, teabags, water. We had arrived two hours before the check in time and asked if we could check in early. “No.” But in fairness it’s possible the young lady spoke little English (we speak no Bahasia) so this may not have been as rude as it seemed. We returned later and the room was ready. But the bathroom smelled of sewerage and the tap in the basin was completely loose (although it did produce cold water on demand). We tried an early night but the bed was so hard that neither of us slept well. Until about 9 pm, the room was very noisy: people shouting, laughing loudly, running up and down outside the room. The walls must have been paper thin as, next morning at dawn, I was woken by the man in the adjacent room chanting his prayers. He was not being over-loud but he might have been in our room for all the difference it made. So we rose, unrefreshed, and my wife went to shower. No hot water. That was the last straw. We packed up and checked out. We told the young lady at the desk that we were checking out (forfeiting two nights’ fees) and that there was no hot water. “Oh”. Again, it might have been a language issue. Even so, be warned. This was an entirely negative experience.

standard room 1 (no view), room 2 (on a clear day, you'll wake up with the mountain right infront of you), room 3 and room 4 (perfect valley view). Booked 3 rooms here. It is a pleasant stay. A cosy restaurant is just next door. And it is near to the National Park.

Clean rooms but not at hotel standards, of course. With the cold wet, damp weather, there will always be that musky damp smell, not to mention bugs and moths. No air cond, no fan but cool enough if you open the windows. However, at night, the room lights attract the bugs! Kettle, coffee & tea provided. Strong WiFi. Limited TV channels but they provide a thumb drive with movies. Seperate toilet and shower. Our room has a long big sink. No fridge. We prefer rooms at same level as reception to avoid walking down the open-air slippery steps to the garden rooms below. However, staff quarters just a floor below reception, thus can be a little noisy before 9pm Ample car park. Easy road access without steep climbs and without muddy narrow paths. Lily's Kitchen Cafe is just beside it. There is a good Chinese restaurant called Station89 2km up the road towards Kundasang.
