This year marks the 60th anniversary of the opening of Sakurai Hotel. My mother was having her birthday when I checked in, so the hotel thoughtfully gave me a gift - commemorative sake for the 60th anniversary of the opening. The hot spring bath is very large, and the changing rooms and rest areas are very new, but unlike ordinary Japanese hot spring hotels, men and women can switch at different time periods to experience different hot springs, which is a bit regrettable. Although there is a shuttle bus from the hotel to the central area of ​​Kusatsu Onsen, it takes about 15 minutes to walk there, and it is basically a slope, so it will be a bit hard to come back. It also takes about 15 minutes to run from the hotel to Nishi-no-Kawahara Onsen. The hotel's souvenir shop is very large, and basically all souvenirs can be bought, so there is no need to buy them in the hot spring street. The guest room facilities are a bit old, and there is no USB charging port, which is a bit troublesome.

We stayed in Kusatsu for two nights. One night we chose Konoha. The other night we chose Sakurai. It was completely different from Konoha. I didn’t expect that such a large hotel would have someone to introduce the hotel facilities and lead us into the room. The room was super large, beyond imagination. It should be the largest Japanese-style room I have stayed in so far. The drum performance in the evening was a bonus. The buffet was exquisite. The amazake in the welcome drink was so delicious. We arrived at 12 noon and went out for a walk. We returned to the hotel at 16:00 and the amazake was gone and there was no restock. When we checked out, the service staff also took the initiative to help with the luggage. If you like small and exquisite, you can choose Konoha. If you like lively, Sakurai is a good choice
