Swiss-Chalet Merlischachen - Romantik Schloss-Hotel am See

It's pretty good. I was surprised when I went last time, but there are too many mosquitoes in the summer this time.

Great position on the Lake with easy access into Luzern, CHF4 each way. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with standalone Aircon which proved useful during our visit. Be aware most room do not have an unrestricted view of the lake due to a property in front of the hotel. Breakfast is taken across the road at the old hotel, but is good. The restaurant is in the same location across the road and we had a reasonable meal there. There is also a good Brazilian restaurant nearby. Be aware parking whilst easy costs CHF10 per night. Would we go again. Probably yes

The Schloss-Hotel is located in a small, beautiful and quiet town 10 minutes by car from Lucerne. The hotel is on the lake shore and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The hotel has a large private parking lot. The hotel is designed and built in a medieval style and we felt like we were in a 15th century manor. There are medieval weapons mounted on the walls of the corridors, which is a wonderful decoration - as if we were in an armory. The hotel is very nice. The room was clean, spacious and had medieval furniture. The bathroom was clean and had a sufficient number of towels. The hotel has a space (on the floor above the reception) where we could make coffee, tea, sit and even borrow a book. Breakfast is served in a restaurant located across the street. The breakfast is buffet style, but the selection was smaller than I expected. The breakfast was tasty and the cappuccino was great. The staff is nice, pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. If we need accommodation in the area again in the future, this hotel will be our first choice.

Perfect location, but very questionable staff's client-friendliness. Understandably, there had been an issue between the booking organisation (gift voucher from Smartbox) and the hotel. As clients, we had proof (both in writing and electronically) that the voucher included dinner - the hotel did not. While we decided to drop the claim for dinner and obtain damages from the booking company - there was not the slightest effort, empathy, or attempt from hotel staff to makes this issue smoother. They could have offered a drink as a gesture to compensate our problem, but nothing. Instead they charged for the one night hotel parking (an open, empty parking) - a fee they did not inform us about upon checking in. Breakfast staff at the Swiss-Chalet were simply appalling - refusing for us to sit on the terrace (where all other hotel clients were already seated), arguing "there were not enough seat cushions, and the terrace would open only on 1st May". Unbelievable and incomprehensible. There is no way we can ever recommend this hotel based on their service level.

The hotel was so beautiful and everyone was so nice!! Their breakfast restaurant also had the best dinner!!

Lovely room, quiet lakeside location, good breakfadt served in the restaurant opposite, easy parking, easy drive into Lucerne

Go our first time visiting them. The experience was amazing. The rooms were very clean and as advertised. The service was excellent. I recommend.
