Dinner was served in private sectioned rooms but with a public, almost festival-like atmosphere. Beautiful arrangements, lovely choice of flavors and very creative dishes. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Sadly, no elevators. Will look forward to visiting again!

Very authentic & traditional experience appeared all other guests were Japanese. loved the onsen experience and a fabulous emersión into Japanese culture. Location was great easy bus ride to local town & fishing village of Ine. Fabulous little intimate restaurant 2 min walk. On the down side little hard to find and would be very difficult at night. Staff only spoke Japanese & we’re not very friendly despite our best efforts to speak Japanese and make things a little easier with google translate. Price was very reasonable. Overall would recommend if you’re looking for a traditional family home style experience.

宮津駅より徒歩で10分程かかり、天橋立へ3km程の距離があり、宮津市街地唯一のコンビニエンスストアにも徒歩で10分程度要する場所にあるホテルです。周辺環境の状況から利用しづらい印象を持つと思いますが、だからこそかもしれませんが、平日休日問わず周辺は静かで、大声でおしゃべりするような宿泊客もおらず、非常に快適に滞在できるホテルだと思います。ホテルのスタッフも一様に丁寧な接客で、気さくに声をかけてくれるものの、必要以上に距離を詰めてくるような接し方はしません。 ロビーから客室に至るまで、清潔さが保たれているのは言わずもがな、設備やアメニティも無駄が無くよくまとまっています。客室への入室時のカードキーをかざすセンサーが分かりづらい、客室の電気系統がやや分かりづらい（入口のスイッチは、部屋全体の電気系統のオンとオフを切り替えるもののようです）、バスルームはバスタブが無くシャワーのみ（且つ大浴場が無い）、という注意点がありますが、それ以外は全く申し分はありません。 1階のロビーには待ち合わせスペースの他、共用のキッチンのようなスペースがあり（シンクがあるだけで実際の調理は出来ません）、宿泊客に対し無料でコーヒーを始めとするドリンクのサービスが提供されています（全て無料です）。 殆どの宿泊客が車で利用するからか、充分な広さの駐車場が備わっている上、ホテルの目の前には高速バスのバス停があるため、京都などからの高速バスを利用してのホテルの利用も非常に便利です。 周辺は飲食店がいくつかありますが、上記の通りコンビニエンスストアはこのホテルよりやや遠いところにあります。一方でホテルの北（徒歩2～3分程度）のところにショッピングモールがありますので、食糧調達に殊更不便、ということは無いと思います。周辺環境にやや難はあるものの、ホテル自体は素晴らしく、何度も利用したくなるホテルです。 It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Miyazu Station, about 3 km to Amanohashidate, and about 10 minutes on foot to the only convenience store in Miyazu city center. My wife and I had a relaxing holiday recently and a great experience at the Kawaguchiya Kinosaki Riverside Hotel. We took a train from Shin Osaka Station (2.5 hour) and a slow walk from the station to Kawaguchiya. You will see a Idemitsu gas station, the hotel is just right opposite). The weather was cool that day and the town was quite thin in traffic. Check in was quite strict at 3.00pm, so we wandered out for a ramen lunch before returning again to check in. We had a Japanese room which looked out to Higashiyama Park and a view of the autumn leaves. We’d booked a half board package. The kaiseki dinner was elaborate and stunning - visually stimulating and delicious. Breakfast was equally well presented. Before dinner we’d put on the yukata robe and the geta clogs, took a walk to the onsen bath (Satono-yu) next to the train station. The geta is very uncomfortable but quite a fun experience walking round town in the Japanese attire. Staff are friendly and helpful. We’d requested for a adapter. The reception staff initially told us they don’t have any. We tried again and show them images of adapters and they came back with two boxes of adapters for us to choose. Overall we had a fun time and a relaxing holiday at Kawaguchiya.
